Stampin' for the Christmas Holiday Season Blog Hop!

I am so happy to have you visit me this morning!  Welcome to our Team Stamp It Blog Hop where we are creating and sharing beautiful Winter-y and Christmas designs. You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Elizabeth Jeanne Thatcher's blog (Hop #5) on the Team Stamp It Hop.  I am #6 in the hop.  Let's take a look at what wonderful Stampin’ Up! supplies I have used with my project.

At first glance, what do you see absent from a traditional stamped card?  Eeek!  That's right, my project shows off absolutely NO stamping!  I think that after you see how this came together, you'll be biting at the bit to create one, too.  ;)  Yep!  It's a Shaker Card.  **squeal**  Please remember that the products that I used for today's card are listed at the very end! Enjoy!

  • It's a traditional A2 card...card base is Old Olive cardstock measuring 5-1/2". x 4-1/4" layered with Cherry Cobbler and the LOVELY Kraft cardstock!
  • LOVE the Northern Flurry Embossing Folder!  It really adds a WOW factor using the Kraft cardstock....and a little POP when I sponged with a little Baked Brown Sugar ink over the snowflakes.
  • The single sentiment is created with the help of Apothecary Framelits and the Little Letters Thinlit dies.  LOVE that the letters are not set in a 'straight and narrow' position....cute and fun!  AND, that the Little Letters Thinlits fit inside the Apothecary framelit on my Big Shot platform so that I could make one pass through the Big Shot...two die cuts with one pass!

  • Adding a piece of 3" x 1-1/2" Window Sheet to the backside of the 'Noel' layer will keep the multitude of Confetti Stars from falling out.
  • LOVE the ease our Shaker Frames....they have just the right height to allow your confetti to float around between the layers.  Plus, they are narrow so that you can take a 'ring', slice to open the ring and add to the border/edges of the Apothecary frame allowing lots of space for the confetti to shake around in.  I used a couple of rings and opened them up to form a 3" x 1-1/2" 'frame' to keep the confetti inside.  To finish the shaker component and give you something pretty to see through the 'Window', add a 3" x 1-1/2" Cherry Cobbler design piece from Under The Tree Specialty Designer Series Paper to the Shaker foam frame
  • To make the card complete, I added some homemade Cherry Cobbler grommets and 1/8" Old Olive Taffeta Ribbon tails that are tied off with Linen Thread.  The Shaker is glued directly to the card using Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue....and, VOILA!!  Shake-shake-shake!

I hope you enjoy your travels through the blog hop and are inspired by the amazing talent that you will see today! Have fun and take it all in! Thank you so much for popping by.  Now, head on over to Tonya Jastad's blog for some more gorgeousness....there are 11 hops today with LOTS of inspiration ahead for you....(and me, too!  I can't wait to see each and everyone's posts, too).  If you get off track at any time, just click on the Previous or Next button and you'll go the full swing and come back around again.

Stampin’ Up!’s Online Extravaganza continues for two more days and will be wrapping it up tomorrow (Tuesday, December 2nd), but not before our 2nd wave of Door Buster deals that started at midnight this morning (Monday, December 1st)!  In addition to the items that have been on sale all week, the Cyber Monday Door Buster (today only) includes these items:

DOOR BUSTER SPECIAL #1 -- Blendabilities!!  **squeal**

DOOR BUSTER SPECIAL #2 -- Project Life by Stampin' Up!

Click on each of the images below to see a close-up view of each item in the bundle, BUT, when ordering the Door Buster Project Life Bundle, be sure to enter Item #140352 to get the special price of $66.75.

DOOR BUSTER SPECIAL #3 -- Gift Packaging

In my honest opinion....the Blendabilities Door Buster is THEEEE best deal!  Once you start playing with alcohol-based markers, coloring your stamped images is SO easy, therapeutic, and down-right fun! Oh, and did I say "so stinkin' CUTE" !!

Coloring Tip:  If you notice, the gradient of the hats starts with a darker color on the left and works its way to a lighter color as you move to the right. What I find works best for me (and my stamping ladies will agree) is to start with the Darkest marker and color a very small section, then work with the Medium marker to spread the ink a little bit further to the right (don't take this color all the way to the right).  Last, take the lightest color of the 3 markers and blend in the colors of the dark to medium, and then medium to light and coloring in the rest of the section.

Layering:  Have I mentioned how I *love* to add layers and dimension?  Well, these little guys have a coordinating Mustache Framelit that makes it super easy to stamp their mustache onto a piece of scrap Whisper White, die cut using the Big Shot and Framelit, and then pop it up using Stampin' Dimensionals.  WOOT!!

NOTE:  I used the Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, and Neutrals Blendabilities (the very lightest color in the pack) for the faces.  The Blendabilities Bundle special does not include the Neutrals set...they are a separate purchase, but an awesome addition to the bundle.  Just think, the $43 savings on the bundle will easily be enough to buy the Neutrals set.

Santa and the Nutcracker are popped up using Stampin' Dimensionals on the layers of a Vellum cardstock Circle and the Trim The Tree Banner....all to help decorate the Gift Card Envelope.  Tuck in the recipients favorite gift card or cash, and you have one uber cute stocking stuffer!

There are SO MANY ways to save during this promotion – on purchases and on purchases of the Starter Kit.  Woo hoo!  With so many great items on deep discount, have you cashed in on the savings?  Come join my Stampin' Up! demonstrator family and get a discount every day!

Question:  If I asked you to create a list of $125 of product you want from Stampin’ Up!, you could do it without hesitation, right? Of course you could! If I told you that you could receive ALL of that product for just $74.25 (plus tax, but shipped for FREE), why would you turn down that offer? Perhaps you are skeptical of the bundle or worried that you won’t qualify? Perhaps you don’t want to sell Stampin’ Up! products to others? No matter. You can simply buy your supplies at a discount with no obligation to run a business. I want to share with you the truth about this promotion so you know you’ve made the right decision. Do it Your Way. YOU choose your Starter Kit items. Free Shipping. No obligation! You get to “kick the tires” when you take it for a Test Drive until April 2015 with no obligation and no penalty for dropping. **squeal**  This great offer ends at 11:50P tomorrow (December 2nd) me today at LoriDreamsStampin(at)yahoo(dot)com with all of your questions.  I'm very passionate about what I do....I look forward to sharing everything I know about Stampin' Up! with you!
