I can't help but think of the 'old days' when I pulled out the For Peeps Sake stamp set and Flower Pot Designer Series Paper.  There are several patterns among the Flower Pot papers that reminds me of the old handmade aprons, or a little girls Sunday dress.  From that point, I hear a certain happy tune in my head.  So, picture this....you are a little one...with your Sunday bests on...carrying your favorite Easter basket...singing and skipping to the song "Skip to my Lou"!

Skip to my Lou, my darlin'.

• Fly in the buttermilk, Shoo, fly, shoo.
• There's a little red wagon, Paint it blue.
• I lost my partner, What'll I do?
• I'll get another, Prettier than you.
• Can't get a red bird, Jay bird'll do.
• Cat's in the cream jar, Ooh, ooh, ooh.
• Off to Texas, Two by two.

Brings back good memories, right?  Okay, enough teasing...let's hop or "skip to my card".  Teehehe

Here are the fine details....

• I'm soooo happy that Stampin' Up! prints the colors featured in each of the Designer Series Paper packs....makes it so much easier to look for coordinating cardstocks, inks, embellishments, etc.  The colors I chose to use for this card are Blushing Bride (card base), Lost Lagoon, Tangerine Tango, Crushed Curry, Whisper White and a weee bit of Garden Green.

• I would have to say that 99% of my creations MUST have a texture or mix of media sprinkled throughout.  LOVE-Love-love the Whisper White Jute Ribbon that is on page 43 of the Occasions catalog.  I just wanted a skinny piece of it, so I cut some off and layered with a piece of Lost Lagoon cardstock that was Scallop Border Punched.

• The sentiment was inked with Tuxedo Black Memento ink, stamped onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock, and die cut using the decorate label piece that is part of the Circle Card Framelit die.  Add a couple of Rhinestones and pop it up with Stampin' Dimensionals.

• Did you notice the little chickies and wonder 'how'd she do that?"  I used our Stampin' Write Markers to hand color them.  Teehehehe.  After coloring the image, you'll want to give the stamp a little huff...this little gesture will moisten the ink on the rubber and ensure a nice, colored, stamped image....just like your Classic ink pads do.

• Oh, and in case you are wondering...I did purposely off-center the Whisper White circles die cut when I adhered it to the Tangerine Tango Circle die cut.  Don't have a reason....just wanted to try something different.  :)

• I think my most favorite part of this ensemble is the final touch of the Blushing Bride Bow.  Without the little bow, the card would have been a little naked.  Building the bow does take a bit of patience, and I highly recommend using your Bone Folder to help add curve to the bows...it helps a lot!  Sooo happy!

I really enjoyed this card layout and playing around with the "Peeps".  I hope you will give coloring with markers to ink up your stamp images a try....super easy and FUN!  All of the supplies to create this gem can be found at the bottom of this post.The next stop is Kathie Rottie's Blog, stop No. 6 on the Stamp It Blog Hop!
