Painted Petals And Many More for Mother's Day

Painted Petals and a Watercolor technique for the best mother ever!
Since the Blendabilities were pulled from the Stampin' Up! shelves due to the manufacturing company not meeting the set high standards, it was time to re-visit and share the various watercolor techniques available. To get the background effect, I blotted some ink from each of the Marina Mist, Crushed Curry, and Pear Pizzazz ink pads onto my Silicone Craft Mat. NOTE: If you don't have one of these, you REALLY need one....just sayin'. Next, I filled my Stampin' Spritzer with water and lightly spritzed a mist of water onto the ink smudges. You want to mist enough to see rain droplets setting on the Mat. Next, take your 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 sheet of Watercolor paper and use it to 'blot' up the ink from the Mat. Keep rotating the Watercolor paper and blotting up the swells of ink and let the paper dry thoroughly before stamping onto it. I used my Heat Tool on the low setting to assist with the drying.
The flower bouquet was created with the Painted Petals stamp set...Strawberry Slush flowers and Mossy Meadow leaves. The frame was die cut out of Marina Mist card stock using the On Film framelit and Big Shot. The "best mother ever" sentiment came from the And Many More stamp set and accessorized with Venetian Crochet Trim and Gold Button trimmed with Gold Metallic Baker's Twine. The whole Watercolor Paper panel was glued to the front of a Very Vanilla cardstock base using Mono Adhesive Liquid Glue. Oh, and I added a touch of Crushed Curry Washi Tape from the Beach House set to balance it all together.
Do you think this will pass as a Monet painting? LOL The fun part about this watercolor technique is that no two cards will look the same. It was such an easy and quick technique that I created a birthday card, too. Just think of the many fun color combo's you can try out! I hope you have enjoyed my card share for the hop.
