Grand Vacation Achievers Blog Hop--Remember to Give Thanks

GV_Blog_Hop_Banner_04
Welcome to the September Grand Vacation Achievers Blog Hop. The theme for this month's hop is "Remember to Give Thanks".  There are over 30 participants on this hop and we are all excited to share some projects showcasing Stampin' Up! products into an artistry form and remembering to give thanks.

You may be starting from here at my blog, Lori Mueller - Stampin' Dreams, or you may have come here from the previous person to me on the list. Please be sure to click the person after me to move along the blog hop. If you get off track at any time, the full line up below will help you move along from blog to blog.

AmongBranchGiveThanks-AchieversHop-Lori-DSCN0283

I chose to use one of the images from the Among the Branches stamp set as my focal point.  First and foremost, I want to Give Thanks to our Dear Lord for allowing my family to continue living on earth...LOVE them to pieces!  With that said, my family does not all live in the same state anymore, which makes it hard for all of us to get together, so we have always gathered at Thanksgiving at the old family homestead.  Autumn Wishes and tasty dishes brings back wonderful memories that my family has been creating for many years celebrating "thanks giving".  I can already smell the delicious foods that Mom cooks each year.  YUM!

I also want to extend my heartfelt "thank you" to all of my family, friends and customers for all of the love and support with my Stampin' Up! business.  Without all of YOU, I would not have been able to earn the wonderful Mediterranean Cruise that sets sail May 2016.  I wish I could give each of you a personal hug, but a virtual {{HUG}} will have to do until that wonderful day that our paths will cross in person.  Thank you SO much!

The color scheme that I used is a Very Vanilla cardbase, Early Espresso, Cajun Craze, Hello Honey cardstock and a pattern from the Farmers Market Designer Series Paper pack.  The leaves accented with Linen Thread come from the Vintage Leaves stamp set and die cut using the Leaflets Framelits.

AmongBranchesHeader-GiveThanksAchieversHop-Lori-DSCN0288
The center focal point was a little drab putting layer on top of layer, so I threw in some of the new Gold Metallic Thread and dimensionals between the Early Espresso and Hello Honey layer.  Soooo much better looking with a little added character, don't you think?!!

The little leaves come from the Among the Branches set and are single stamps.  I grouped them together on a clear block and dabbed the corner of my ink pads (Soft Suede, Cajun Craze & Hello Honey) randomly onto the grouped leaves and stamped onto Very Vanilla.  I would clean the stamps and ink them up all over again...repeated until the piece of cardstock was full of colorful leaves.

Thank you so much for taking part in our blog hop. With so many amazing ideas and inspiration throughout the hop, you won't want to miss a single one! Remember you are currently at (Lori Mueller's -- Stampin' Dreams blog), so please check the blog hop line up below and be sure to click the next blog participant's name on the list.

Creative Inking Amazing Fall Acorny Thank You!

CreativeInking-HeaderImage

Hello and welcome to another round of the Creative Inking Blog Hop!  That's quite a blog post title, huh?  I know it's a bit choppy...I'll work on better titles in the future.  :)  I am sooo excited and honored to be a member of this wonderful group of Creative Inking geniuses.  All of the team members around the world have been working hard to create adorable, fun and inspiring projects for you to drool over.  Grab your cup of Joe (or other favorite morning beverage) and let the inspiration begin!

Our crafting theme for September is Hooray for Halloween or Amazing Autumn.  Contrary to what I mentioned yesterday about not being ready to step into the Fall season, I thought I would get my toes wet a little and create another card using the Acorny Thank You bundle (stamp set and coordinating Acorn Builder punch).  Let's check it out.

Acorny-AmazingFallCreativeInkingHop-Lori-DSCN0257
Creative Tips:

  • Do you find yourself struggling to pick out a color combination for a card?  I know that I do, but that's when I go to one of the Designer Series Paper packs that Stampin' Up! offers.  I *love* it that all of the colors are listed on the back of the cardboard insert. So for this card, I focused on the Into the Woods Designer Series Paper pack (available in the new Holiday catalog, page 43) and ended up using all 8 colors on this card!  Amazing, right?!!  I could not help myself.
  • One of my favorite items in the Holiday catalog is that AWESOME Woodland Embossing Folder (page 39).  How many different ways can you say "gorgeous"?!!  I have seen soooo many creations and brilliant uses of this folder.  You *really* need to get one for your stash of supplies.  Just sayin'!
  • I pulled out a couple of new framelits and dies that got to meet cardstock for the first time.  The 'ticket' layers under the acorns are layered using the Tags & Labels Framelits.  There are 6 nesting framelits for the tickets and the same for the tags; and they nest nicely with each other to create a cute accent.  The scalloped edge comes from the Cutie Pie Thinlits dies.  I hated to leave the edge of the Mossy Meadow layer plain and without interest, so adding a little Early Espresso scallop was just the right touch of character.
  • The Acorns are so adorable and versatile.  I loved stamping the nut toppers in the various colors of ink, punching them out, and placing over top of the Soft Suede nut layer.  Pop them up using dimensionals and you've got "Acorny Thank You".  teehehe

DID YOU KNOW?  that Stampin' Up! offers two different types of Whisper White cardstock?  Yep!  There is our traditional 80 lb. Whisper White cardstock that is perfect for stamping and punching out images like the Acorns on the card, but, we now offer a heavier weight of Whisper White cardstock that is perfect to use for the base of your card.  It is a thick 100 lb. weight...and is absolute lovely to work with.  You really need to get a package to see for yourself.  ;)

Acorny-AmazingFallCreativeInkingHop-HeaderLori-DSCN0266

I had lots of fun creating this Acorny Thank You...very easy to make...colorful just like an Amazing Autumn season.  Now, you will want to hop on over to Colleen's blog and check out the inspiration she has to share with everyone.  Just click on the 'Next' button and you'll be hoppin'.  If you get lost or sidetracked, just come on back and follow the list of participants shown below.  Have fun getting your fill of wonderful inspiration...don't forget to come back real soon.  :)

Trick or Treat on Witches' Night for the Stamp It Blog Hop

September2015-TeamStampIt-Header

Hello my inky friends!  I hope you are all having a fabulous weekend. You have dropped in just in time for our September Stamp It blog hop.  If this is your first stop or you arrived from sweet Charlene Luks blog, please be sure to click the 'Next' button at the end of this post so that you get to enjoy the next set of inspiring projects as you travel through the blog hop. If you get off track at any time, the full line up below will help you move along from blog to blog. We have 12 Stamp It Artists playing along this month (**squeal**) and we have all created a card based on the theme of Halloween or Fall creations.

I have been on a Halloween kick lately...not sure that I'm ready for the Fall season to arrive.  It just reminds me that time is flying by waaaay to fast and that I didn't get to enjoy much of the Summer season.  So, the Witches' Night photopolymer stamp set is getting a little play time with my ink.  :)

WitchesNight-HalloweenWeb-Lori-DSCN0181

Creative Tips:

  • One of my favorite styles of creating is to go vintage.  The Crumb Cake cardbase really shows off the Happy Haunting Designer Series Paper that is matted on Basic Black cardstock.  To add that vintage feel, I took a Stampin' Sponge and sponged a light coat of Soft Suede ink around the edges of the Designer Series Paper.
  • I struggled to narrow down my decision on which of the 12 patterns available in the Happy Haunting Designer Series Paper pack to use...ended up with 3 patterns all in Tangelo Twist.  The 3 separated matted panels allows you to get a good feel for each pattern with clashing or making the card look too busy.
  • The Trick or Treat image really grasps that WOW factor in the sense that after being stamped using the new Archival Basic Black ink it produces such a clean and crisp stamped image.  The new Spider Web Doilies are sooo much fun and add a hint of spooky-ness that is nestled into between the Lots of Labels die cuts.
  • I love dimension!  I have a very difficult time creating a flat card, so it was 'necessary' to pop up the main image. haha  I couldn't leave it alone with something that simple, so I inked up the "31" in Tangelo Twist, punched with the 3/4" Circle punch and popped up over top the Basic Black stamped version.  Also, I thought it would be fun to have the "31" inked in Tangelo Twist and look like a Polka Dot to match the designer series paper set behind it. Trick or Treat?!!

DID YOU KNOW?  that if you click on any of the pictures I add to my posts that you get a more up-close-and-personal look at all of the details of my creations?  Go ahead...click on any image.  ;)

Stamp Out Breast Cancer with Paper Pumpkin

I literally screamed out loud when I saw this new announcement from Stampin' Up! this morning.  As a 6 year Breast Cancer SURVIVOR, this cause is very near and dear to me and my family.  While I was going through treatments, I stamped and paper crafted every day...even through the days that my stomach and body was feeling at its worst.  Stamping was my life-line...my mental therapy to keep my mind off of what I was going through.  I brought stamping projects with me to every chemo treatment...every nurse waited anxiously to see what I was preparing to make that day.  Lots of new friendships created.

If you, a family member, a friend, a friend of a friend is currently undergoing treatments, GIFT them this little treat in a Pink box.  Help them forget...for just a couple hours...the ICK they are going through to get well and back on the road to recovery.  Trust me, they will be very thankful for those peaceful hours of fun!

Please help me raise awareness for a great cause...subscribe to Paper Pumpkin.  Subscribe for Paper Pumpkin through me and I will donate $2 for every new Paper Pumpkin, as well.  I thank you SO much for your consideration!

BCRF_Demo_Header_0915To show our support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we're going PINK . . . or at least our October boxes are! And because we know our subscribers want to share the love too, we will be making a donation on their behalf to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).

Stampin' Up! will donate

  • $1 for every currently active Paper Pumpkin subscriber.
  • Plus, an additional $1 for every new subscriber.

Together, we will make a difference!

Here's how you can help:

  1. Subscribe! If you're new to Paper Pumpkin, click here to get started. Your first kit will arrive in a limited-edition pink box that you'll want to hold onto forever-and we'll donate $2 because you're new!
  2. Stay active if you're a subscriber so we can donate $1 for you. Only those who receive the October shipment will be counted for the donation.
  3. Spread the word! Help us get as many new subscribers as possible. Every current subscriber adds $1 and for new subscribers it's doubled, so let's get the word out and raise as much as possible.
  4. Use the images below to spread the word via email, texts, and social media. For those who have been on the fence about Paper Pumpkin, this could be just the thing that makes you want to give it a try!

Remember, those who get the October kit will not only be donating to a good cause, but you will also get a one-time only, pretty pink Paper Pumpkin box! No one will want to miss it. Promise. PinkPPBoxes-LargeCropImage

OSAT Blog Hop -- Designer's Choice in September!

OSATBlogHop-Header
Good Morning Stampers!

I am so excited to have you join me for the One Stamp At a Time Blog Hop (aka OSAT) for September.  I think that our creative minds are having so much fun enjoying the Summer fun that the theme for the hop this month is by Designer's Choice!  Teehehe  Let me tell you...we are all excited to share some projects using new products from the new Holiday Catalog.

You may be starting from here at my blog, Lori Mueller - Stampin' Dreams, or you may have come here from the previous person to me on the list. Please be sure to click the 'Next' button at the end of this post so that you get to enjoy the next set of inspiring projects as you travel through the blog hop. If you get off track at any time, the full line up below will help you move along from blog to blog.

I have been wanting to try out my new stamp set bundle....Acorny Thank You with a coordinating Acorn Builder punch, so why not introduce it to you during a hop, right?!!  Let's check it out.

AcornyNutsAboutYou-OSATHop-Lori-DSCN0214
A little 'nutty', right?  Or, is it a little 'corney'?  haha!!  One will never know!  This card is a Clean and Simple layout, which is *really* difficult for me to comprehend.  I am more of a 'more is better' type of crafter.  I just never know when to stop adding details and finishing touches.

  • These cute little acorns with a variety of nut toppers and bottoms can be found in the new Acorny Thank You stamp set, which came out with the new Holiday catalog.  The next best thing is that these images coordinate with a brand new Acorn Builder Punch!  Yep!  A lovely bundle to purchase for a savings of 15%.  YAY!
  • The patterned paper comes from the new series called Into The Woods.  I really like the variety of colors that are mixed within the images....Tangelo Twist, Daffodil Delight, Mossy Meadows, Old Olive, Early Espresso, Soft Suede and Rich Razzleberry.  All of the colors of a Fall season.

My next project is a fun Mini Coffee cup that I decorated.  The cups liner is using the same patterned paper...Into The Woods Designer Series paper as the card, along with the same cardstock colorscheme.  The belly band is Early Espresso, and the Rich Razzleberry 1/4" Cotton Ribbon lines the lid.  My camera did not pick up those colors very well.  I am so excited and just love the way it turned out.  So CUTE and fun!  I will be filling a cello bag with a mix of roasted peanuts and candy to store inside the coffee cup.  I know this little treat package will be well received by a number of my friends.
