Happy New Year with Six Sayings

SixSayings-NewYearHeader-Lori-DSCN3904

Happy New Year's Eve!!!  I can't thank you...my blog readers, followers, customers, and members of Lori's Dream Team....for all of the love and wonderful support you have provided me with my small Stampin' Up! business in 2015.  I can't wait to see what the 2016 new year will bring in our creative world.  For now, I wanted to share one last creation using products from the soon-to-be-retired Holiday catalog (ends January 4th).  The Hostess set, Six Sayings, has a wonderful image that was perfect for my New Year ensemble.  We have been invited to celebrate and ring in the new year at a dear friend's house, so I thought I would create some fun love to give to them.

SixSayings-NewYearCard-Lori-DSCN3898

Creative Tips:

  • I think that a New Year's celebration is soooo elegant when presented with Basic Black, Gold and White.  So, I decided to use the Winter Wonderland Specialty Designer Series Paper, Winter Wonderland Designer Vellum stack, Gold Glimmer paper, and Gold Foil papers.  To top it off, I threw in some Gold Sequins and Gold Metallic Thread....suwheeeet!  (NOTE:  The Winter Wonderland paper and Vellum stack is on sale through the Year-end Sale...available while supplies last through January 4, 2016!)
  • There are sooo many lovely Vellum designs in that stack, but in order to have the gold striped layer not fade into the Basic Black cardstock base, I adhered it to a the same size piece of Whisper White cardstock.  The gold stripes do have some shimmer to them, but the camera is not picking it up...quite gorgeous, I must say.
  • The colors Black, Gold and White present such a rich and elegant appeal, so I incorporated some Winter Wonderland Specialty Designer Series Paper, Winter Wonderland Designer Vellum Stack, Gold Glimmer paper, and Gold Foil.  It doesn't stop with paper....check out the Gold Sequins and Gold Metallic Thread....suwheeeet!
  • I love-love-love my Big Shot!  I cannot do any project (almost) without using it, so the Stars Framelits and Little Letters Thinlits got to make a showing in this creation.  The sentiment was stamped directly onto one of the designs from the Winter Wonderland Designer Series Paper pack using Basic Black Archival ink.

NOTE:  Because the sheets in this designer series paper pack are slick to the touch, you will want to use Stampin' Up!'s heat tool (on the low setting) to heat dry the ink.  This will eliminate smearing the stamped image if you don't wait long enough for the ink to dry on it's own.

  • I popped up the die cut Stars grouping and the sentiment that was die cut with the Tags & Labels Framelits using Stampin' Dimensionals.  I love layers and dimension!

SixSayings-SourCreamNewYears-Lori-DSCN3891

  • Next up is a Sour Cream Container package using a 4-1/2" x 6-1/2" piece of Winter Wonderland Designer Series Paper.  I chose the striped version to coordinate with the gold stripes from the Winter Wonderland Vellum stack.  Don't you love it when Stampin' Up! does that?!!  It makes creating super easy and worry free when it comes to coordinating and matching.  This little gem will be filled with a few chocolates...YUM! and closed shut with a Gold Mini Metallic Clothespin.  The tag was created to coordinate with the greeting card.  Teehehehe

NOTE:  You'll want to use Stampin' Up!'s Tear & Tape Adhesive to bring the 4-1/2" ends together.  You want to use super strong adhesive as I'm sure you don't want your lovely package to fall apart with the weight of the chocolates that will be put inside.

SixSayings-WineTagNewYears-Lori-DSCN3897

  • Last, but not least....the beverage tag!  Two things to note on this one.  The bottom 2 design strips consist of the Gold Vellum stripes and one of the Winter Wonderland Designer Washi Tape designs.  I decided not to back the Gold Stripes vellum piece with Whisper White cardstock.  I thought it was skinny enough and needed to be subtle so that it wouldn't steal the focus away from the Happy New Year panel above.  Although, the opposite was the case for the Winter Wonderland Washi tape strip...it did need the white backing because the Washi tape had more of a foggy appearance and really could not be seen on the Basic Black layer.

DON'T MISS OUT ON YOUR FAVORITES!!  The Holiday catalog expires at the end of the day on January 4, 2016.  If you have found yourself loving the Winter Wonderland papers and Washi Tape, you best get them before the supply runs out....AND, while they are on sale.  Discounted products are always a wonderful bonus!  These papers are not seasonal...think Golden Anniversaries, Golden Birthday's, beautiful wedding invitations, etc. Absolutely beautiful!

Mediterranean Achievers Blog Hop--Bring on the Bling!

GV_Blog_Hop_Banner_MediterraneanCruise

If you get off track at any time, the full line up below will help you move along from blog to blog.  So, here is my Bring on the Bling card share that I cased from the Holiday Catalog (page 14).  I needed something quick and easy for a holiday gathering last week; and it fit the theme for this hop.  YIPPEE!!

DelicateOrnaments-MeditDecBlogHop-Lori-DSCN3883

Creative Tips:

  • I am using a mix of Stampin' Up!'s new Thick Whisper White cardstock for the cardbase and the regular Whisper White cardstock for the layer.  I really love the Thick cardstock for the base...so that it will stand strong and tall.  The regular Whisper White cardstock is lovely for using Textured Embossing, like the Softly Falling texture you see.
  • Bring On the Bling!!  I used a strip of the lovely Holidays Fancy Foil Designer Vellum to finish off the bottom of the card.  The rest of the bling is showcased with Red and Silver Foil and the Silver Cording.  It was hard getting a picture of the Red Foil to shine.  I love the Delicate Ornaments Thinlits....so much lovely detail.  I die cut a solid image of the big Old Olive ornament and punched a 1-3/4" punch, both from Very Vanilla and backed the intricate ornaments so that they looked solid and you could not see the textured embossing through the die cut.  Would cause too much confusion with the eyeballs.  haha!  Both ornaments were popped up using Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • The sentiment comes from the Embellished Ornaments stamp set...inked it up with Black Archival Ink and stamped onto a 7/8" strip of Whisper White cardstock.  I handcut the banner edge and added Stampin' Dimensionals.

Such a lovely piece and easy to create with the help of my trusty Big Shot.  I can't ever leave home without it!  Thanks for taking part in our blog hop. With so many amazing ideas and inspiration filled with bling that sparkles and shines throughout the hop, you won't want to miss a single one! Remember you are currently at (Lori Mueller's -- Stampin' Dreams blog), so please check the blog hop line up below and be sure to click the next blog participant's name on the list.

Creative Inking Blog Hop -- Occasions & Sale-A-Bration Sneak Peeks!!

CreativeInking-HeaderImage

Good morning, stampers and paper crafters!  The end of the year 2015 is just around the corner, but the members of the Creative Inking team have been busy creating some fun and exciting Occasions and Sale-A-Bration Sneak Peeks to share with you for this months Creative Inking Blog Hop!  Whether this is your first stop on the hop, or you arrived here from Lisa's blog....Welcome!! and I can't wait to share with you my awesome project with you.  You are definitely going to enjoy this hop!

I have quite a few different occasions that I have been invited to host or be a special guest for, which call for some special Thank You cards to prepare and send off.  I am in love with the new Suite Sayings coming out in the new Occasions catalog and the country floral images found in the Flowering Fields stamp set that is coming out in the Sale-A-Bration brochure.  I love how this simple card turned out....let's take a gander.

CreativeInkingHop-SABOccasPeek-Lori-DSCN3858

Creative Tips:

  • I started with a Tip Top Taupe card base and layered with some Calypso Coral cardstock that was textured using the Honeycomb Embossing Folder.  To give it some highlights, I sponged some Crumb Cake ink over the raised texture.
  • To add a contrasting color, I die cut a circle Hello Honey layer.  I inked up one of the six floral images in Early Espresso ink and added more Crumb Cake sponging on the edges.
  • The sentiment comes from the Suite Sayings stamp set...inked it up with Tip Top Taupe and used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to position and line up three different times.  I punched the top using the Ornate Tag Topper punch and the bottom using the Triple Banner Punch.its die.  Topped it off with some 1/2" Calypso Coral Seam Binding tied in a bow.

Very simple and expresses my sincerest thoughts for some very special people in my life.

Now, you will want to hop on over to Linda's blog...I know she will have a gorgeous sneak peek to share with you.  Just click on the 'Next' button and you'll be hoppin'.  If you get lost or sidetracked, just come on back and follow the list of participants shown below.  Have fun getting your fill of wonderful inspiration...don't forget to come back real soon.  :)

OSAT Blog Hop -- A Holiday Thank You

OSATBlogHop-ThankYou-Dec2015HeaderHello Stampers!

Here we are...in the month of December....where has time gone?!!  It is the last month of the year and I am so excited to have you join me for our last series of the One Stamp At a Time Blog Hop (aka OSAT) in 2015.  You may be starting from here at my blog, Lori Mueller - Stampin' Dreams, or you may have come here from Kim Smith's blog.  However you found me...YAY!! Please be sure to click the 'Next' button at the end of this post so that you get to enjoy the next set of inspiring projects as you travel through the blog hop. If you get off track at any time, the full line up below will help you move along from blog to blog.

This month we are focusing on "Thanks" or "Thank You".  With this being the season of gift giving, there will be lots of thank you notes to prepare and send off.  I used the Jingle All The Way stamp set from the Holiday catalog (which is on the Retirement list) and chose to create a 4"x4" sized card.  I love to get out of the normal A2 (4-1/4" x 5-1/2") sized card every now and then...mix it up a bit. Let's take a peek.

JingleAllTheWay-OSATThanks-Lori-DSCN3821

Creative Tips:

  • I started with the little dots image from the Jingle All The Way stamp set and did some tone-on-tone stamping on the Cherry Cobbler cardbase using Cherry Cobbler ink.
  • The sheet music is actually from the Home for Christmas Designer Series Paper pack.  Added a little bit of sponging with Soft Suede ink around the edges to give it a little vintage feel.  Some Cherry Cobbler sponging to the center; and stamped the trees using Old Olive Classic ink.
  • I love layers!  A mix of Snowflake Elements and Linen Thread add texture, while strips of Home for Christmas designer paper and Very Vanilla cardstock help layout the perfect Cherry Cobbler 'thanks' using the Greetings Thinlits die.

My next project is unique, but a spin-off from the Season to Season Wreath found on page 6 of the Holiday Catalog.  I discovered a fun idea when I was putting the wreath together...the die cut leaves are the exact same die from the Leaflets Framelits.  SQUEEEEEL!!  Check it out!

Season2SeasonWreath-LeafFramelit-DSCN0407          Season2Season-LeafletFramelitMatch-DSCN0409

  • Using the leftover designer paper from the kit, I cut out approximately 72 whole leaves.  I curled them with my bone folder and created this!

LeafletsFramelitsTree-OSATThanks-Lori-DSCN3826

  • I love it!!  Using my glue gun, I added all of the cut leaves to a styrofoam cone.  I topped it with a 3D star using Gold Glimmer paper and the Star Framelits.  I cut 2 stars and scored from the center to the outer points so that when you fold on the score lines you will end up with a 3D (not flat) star.  I used liquid glue to glue the edges together, put a toothpick up the center, and set in place on top of the cone.  Super easy...did not take long at all.  The longest process was die cutting the leaves.  :)

Thanks for taking part in our One Stamp At a Time blog hop.  I am very thankful that you have stopped to visit me.  There are a good number of hops to travel, which means many more ideas and inspiration to fill your creative mind...you won't want to miss a single one! Remember you are currently at (Lori Mueller's -- Stampin' Dreams blog), so please check the blog hop line up below and be sure to click the next blog participant's name on the list.
