Creative Inking Blog Hop -- Love All Around

CreativeInking-HeaderImage

Hello -- Hello -- Hello!!

Welcome to the Creative Inking Blog Hop for January 2016!  It's a brand new year with a brand new Occasions catalog, which means lots of fun crafting going on.  The theme for the hop this month is Love All Around and we are all excited to share the love of what we do by showcasing some projects that you are sure to love!

You may be starting from here at my blog, Lori Mueller - Stampin' Dreams, or you may have come here from the talented Lisa Curcio's blog. Please be sure to click the 'Next' button to move along the blog hop. If you get off track at any time, the full line up below will help you move along from blog to blog.  So, here is my Love All Around card share that may or may not be what you expected when you learned about our theme.

Yes!  It's a Birthday card that will be filled with lots of love when I send it off to it's recipient!  *grin*!!

Creative Tips:

  • I love it when Stampin' Up! lists all of the colors used in their Designer Series Paper packs BECAUSE that is what I used as a starting point with my card.  I chose Rose Red for the cardbase.  Then, I took a piece of Rose Red and embossed it with the Happy Heart Texture embossing folder and matted it onto some Whisper White cardstock.
  • The designs in the Love Blossoms Designer Series Paper Stack are soooo pretty that I had a hard time deciding which pattern to use.  Then, to top it off, each sheet has a different design on each side.  **squeal**  These two patterns are housed on the same sheet...one on each side.

  • Next, comes the absolute stunning part of this whole creation....the Bloomin' Heart Thinlit!  Have you seen this die yet?!!  OH.MY.GOSH!!  I love this die!!  It is bundled with the Bloomin' Love stamp set (at a savings of 15%, I might add), and is very versatile.  The stamp set includes flowers (which have a coordinating die with the Bloomin' Heart), a banner, and a variety of sentiments.  The little flowers were die cut from Blushing Bride, while the larger flowers were stamped with Rose Red and then die cut.  Oh, and the banner has a coordinating die that is part of the Large Numbers Framelits (pg. 10-Occasions catalog)!  The Heart die-cut, flowers, and banner are backed with a load of Stampin' Dimensionals.  Did I tell you I love texture and layers?  haha
  • To tie it all together, I added some 3/8" Whisper White Stitched Satin ribbon.  Oh, and some pearls added to the flower centers to give it that dainty, vintage feel.

So, to stay with tradition of the time of year and the theme "Love All Around", I thought I would create a 2nd card that shows off the 2nd design of the paper I used in the Birthday card.  I also changed up the stitched ribbon for 3 strands of the 1-1/4" White Jute ribbon, plus, one of the sentiments in the Bloomin' Love stamp set.  Pretty-pretty, no matter what paper, ribbon or sentiment you use, right?!!
