Welcome to the Mediterranean Achievers Blog Hop for February 2016. I am SUPER excited for this trip...a once in a lifetime for me and my hubby, and what better way to celebrate our 25th wedding Anniversary than a trip hosted by Stampin' Up! My airline travel is booked and a few excursions are booked, just need to decide on a couple more things and we are all set! Only about 80+ days before we head out. Eeeek!
The theme for the hop this month is "One For The Guys" and we are excited to share some projects using any Stampin' Up! products that demonstrate that 'manly' feel and appearance! This can be a tough one, at times, but I think I pulled it off.
You may be starting from here at my blog, Lori Mueller - Stampin' Dreams, or you may have come here from the previous person to me on the list. Please be sure to click the person after me to move along the blog hop. If you get off track at any time, the full line up below will help you move along from blog to blog. So, here is my One For The Guys card share that I whipped up. Literally! I really amazed myself because I never just 'whip' out a card. haha I needed something quick and easy for a friend of mine; and the papers and Suite Sayings stamp set worked for the theme for this hop. YIPPEE!!
- The color choices all stem from the Wildflower Fields Designer Series Paper. Yep!! I'm using a paper pack that has LOTS of flower images, but there are some non-flower images on the reverse sides of each double-sided sheet. YEAH!! So, I started with a Lost Lagoon card base that measure 6-5/8" x 5-1/2" and scored one end at 2-3/8". It looks like a traditional cardbase that has been shorted. haha
- To build out my card and give it a sense of a 'full' card, I cut a piece of Hello Honey cardstock as the matte to the multi-colored chevron patterned designer paper. I used Fast Fuse to adhere the left part of the panel to the short end of the card base. Be careful not to forget that you don't need adhesive on all of the panel back...it's a habit! Ask me how I know to leave you with that tip! ;)
- One of my favorite sentiment stamp sets in the Occasions catalog is the Suite Sayings stamp set (page 41). LOVE it!! To draw attention to the primary colors that I was using, I pulled out my Hello Honey and Lost Lagoon Stampin' Write markers and hand-colored the words before stamping onto a strip of Whisper White cardstock that measures 1" x 4". I used Fast Fuse to adhere to a piece of Old Olive cardstock that I banner cut. The banner was popped up using Stampin' Dimensionals.
- So as not to steal away from the Clean And Simple look, I added a couple of White Perfect Accents. I think it was the 'perfect' added touch....One For The Guys, don't you think?!
Have I told you that I have difficulty coming up with a Clean And Simple card?? Well, I do! It's one of my biggest struggles, but am pretty darned proud of this quick accomplishment. :) Thanks for taking part in our blog hop.
