World Card Making Day -- Stampin' Up! Demonstrators Blog Hop

14495403_1127731397279894_8872217285151481037_n

Hello my stamping crafty friends!!  I am sooo excited that you are here to experience World Card Making Day with all of us Stampin' Up! demonstrators from....literally....all over the world!  This is an amazing blog hop with sooo many talented crafters sharing what we all love to do...stamp, craft and share.

Sending a card is a small gesture that shows just how much you care about that special someone in your life. With World Card Making Day recognized across the world, it reminds us to celebrate by making and sending a handmade card to someone who could use a little recognition, love, or just a boost (which is anyone, really!).  I am really bad and extremely late getting this card created and hand-delivered to a friend who delivered a new little girl a few weeks ago.  I couldn't pass up using the Fox Builder Punch to create this CUTE little 'baby' fox.  I know the old adage is related to weddings, but something new also brings out something old.  haha!  Something that I haven't used in quite a while was my Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.  ACK!!!  I had forgotten all of the wonderful sentiments available (24 sentiments in one stamp set!  YEAH!!)

You may be starting from here at my blog, Lori Mueller - Stampin' Dreams, or you may have come here from the previous person to me on the list. Please be sure to click the person after me to move along the blog hop. If you get off track at any time, the full line up below will help you move along from blog to blog.

 Creative Tips:

  • With the amount of layers that I had in mind, I chose to go with the Whisper White Thick cardstock for my cardbase (4-1/4" x 11", scored at 5-1/2").  I mean, really, who would not want to display this little cutie on a shelf in the baby's room?!!  (giggle)  Our Thick cardstock is great for that purpose.
  • I chose a double matte color, Smokey Slate and Pool Party...both coordinate with the A Little Foxy Designer Series Paper Stack, to compliment the Chevron pattern and the Woddgrain Embossed Whisper White layer.
  • The 1/8" Smoky Slate Stitched Ribbon tied in a bow is a soft compliment to the matte layers.

WCM-FoxFriendBuilderBaby-Lori-DSC01573

  • Foxy Friends stamp set and coordinating Fox Builder Punch (bundled together for a savings of 10%) is super fun to create all sorts of cute critters.  The CUTE fox was created using Calypso Coral ink stamped onto Whisper White cardstock...all quick and easy to assemble with the help of the coordinating punch.  I did decide to hand cut (aka fussy cut) the legs as I wanted them to appear naturally set in front of the body.  Otherwise, if I stamped the legs directly onto the body, they would have gotten shortened when the body was punched out.
  • Using the Layering Ovals Framelits, cut out 2 layers...the larger from Pool Party, the patterned one from the A Little Foxy paper stack.  Add the cute little fox with Stampin' Dimensionals.  The sentiment was stamped with Archival Basic Gray ink onto Calypso Coral cardstock and cut using the Bunch of Banners Framelits die set.  Add the smallest pearls from the Basic Pearls pack and set in place with more Stampin' Dimensionals.

Stampin' Up! Mediterranean Achiever's Blog Hop -- Full of Thankfulness

GV Blog Header-Mediterranean

Welcome to the Mediterranean Achievers Blog Hop for September 2016.

This will be our final blog hop recognizing the achievement of earning Stampin' Up's Grand Vacation, the Mediterranean Cruise, which is why the main theme for the hop this month -- Thankfulness -- is so very important and close to my heart.  I really could not have achieved it without all of YOU!  My wonderful and loyal customers (whom I call friends), my dear and loving family and friends, and to my AH-mazing Stampin' Up! family that we call "Lori's Dream Team".  There are no exact mix of the English vocabulary that will express enough how much gratitude I have...so, simply put...THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart.  Starting next month (October) WE (yep! me, too!) are going to start the Thailand Achievers blog hop! Many, many thanks to Stampin' Up!® for the opportunity to earn and achieve such wonderful trips.

  • The Early Espresso cardbase (8-1/2" x 5-1/2", scored at 4-1/4") sets the tone for the Fall season we've been experiencing in our area.  ;)
  • I love using the Kraft Cardstock because it is a heavier paper than our traditional cardstock.  Plus, it adds a different color tone to the mix.  Using the Flourishes Thinlits, die cut three leaves from Crumb Cake, Old Olive and Tangerine Tango.  Set in place using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
  • Our Copper Embossing Powder is super AH-mazing, too!  I can't get over how smooth the end result is.  The sentiment comes from the "One Big Meaning" stamp set and has the PERFECT sentiment for this card that is created for you....stamped and heat embossed onto a strip of Vellum Cardstock.

MedAchieversHop-SideThankfulness-Lori-DSC01561

  • Add a strand of Burlap Ribbon between the sentiment layers and the leaves.  Attach the focal layer to the card base with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Thanks for taking part in our blog hop. With so many amazing ideas and inspiration "for the guys' in your life, you won't want to miss checking out all of the blogs!  I'll be traveling right behind you.  **squeal**  Remember you are currently at (Lori Mueller's -- Stampin' Dreams blog), so please check the blog hop line up below and be sure to click the next blog participant's name on the list.

With Halloween just around the corner, I thought I would create a fun, whimsical card using a variety of techniques.  The sentiments found in the Spooky Fun stamp set have been my 'go to' set these days.  I really love the font and cute sayings.  Let's take a peek at the card.

Creative Tips:

  • Start with a Basic Gray card base measuring 4-1/4" x 11" with a center score across the middle at 5-1/2".
  • The Watercolor paper was washed with some Archival Basic Gray ink using the Aqua Painter.

StampItHop-SpookyFunMaskSide-Lori-DSC01545

  • Cover Very Vanilla cardstock with Halloween Night Washi Tape and die cut the numbers using the Large Numbers Framelits die.
  • I love using mixed media with my creations.  It adds such a unique texture and character.  Add your favorite Stampin' Up! reinker colors to the modeling paste, mix well, then lightly rub across the Stampin' Mask.

Creative Inking Blog Hop -- Spooky Fun!!

CreativeInking-HeaderImage

Hello-hello crafty stampers!  Welcome to my stop on the Creative Inking Blog Hop for the month of September! It is super 'spooky' that we have traveled this far into the year within a blink of an eye!  Which leads me to this months theme....Spooky Fun!!  Are you ready for this popular holiday to arrive?  Have you and the little ones picked out your costumes?  Me, not so much.  I am not much for dressing up, but I sure did enjoy making my daughters' costumes when they were little.  Now that they are all grown up and coming up with their own costumes, all I have to look forward to is the challenge of having more trick-or-treaters stop by our house than my mother-in-law who lives a mile away.  haha!! This year's Stampin' Up! Holiday catalog is filled with some really good Halloween fun!  I haven't gotten it all, but I'm pretty darned close!  haha!

You may be starting from here at my blog, Lori Mueller - Stampin' Dreams, or you may have come here from the talented Sandy Mott's blog. Please be sure to click the 'Next' button (found below) to move along the Creative Inking blog hop. If you get off track at any time, the full line up below will help you move along from blog to blog.  So, here is my Spooky Fun (and super CUTE) Halloween Scares creation.  I am showing off the fun Double Z-fold Technique, which was inspired by a card I received within a card swap group.  I love how this fun-fold technique leaves the possibility of crafting your layout for any given holiday or special occasion.  The ideas are endless....I can envision this to be a really cute baby announcement or baby shower card!  squeal

CreativeInkingHop-HalloweenScares-Lori-DSC01508

The new Stampin' Up! Holiday catalog has a whole suite of really CUTE Halloween products...pages 51-54. I decided to focus on the Halloween Night Specialty Designer Series Paper....LUV the paper!!  Follow me through the creative path of my card share....

Creative Tips:

  • The card base is Paper Pumpkin measuring 4-1/4" x 11", scored in two places...2-3/4" and 5-1/2".  First fold the card base in half at the 5-1/2" mark.  Then, fold the front of the card base back towards the first fold line at the 2-3/4" score mark.  This will create your first Z-Fold.
  • Using Snail, Fast Fuse or Multipurpose Liquid glue, attach the Whisper White cardstock piece to the back portion of the cardbase.  NOTE:  it is important that you attach this piece before the rest of the layout.
  • Adhere the Halloween Nights Designers Paper (striped pattern) to the Basic Black cardstock layer.  Then, adhere that panel to the front section of the Z-fold part of the cardbase.  Position the Pumpkin Pie Circle cut from the Layering Circles Framelits (approximate size is 2-3/4") to the front of the Z-fold section.
  • Using Stampin' Up!'s Simply Scored tool, score the Basic Black strip at 2-3/4" and 5-1/2".  Add some of the Pumpkin Pie Halloween Baker's Twine (tied in a bow) to the 5-1/2" portion of the strip. Fold at both score lines and place on the card based so that they are opposite the cardbase folds.  See picture for a visual.  This also illustrates the importance of adhering the Whisper White layer earlier.  Can you see the two "Z"'s?

 CreativeInkingHop-HalloweenScares-Lori-DSC01521

  • Using the Layering Circles Framelits Die set, die cut a Basic Black layer with one of the scalloped framelits and another circle framelit to die cut one of the Spooky Halloween houses from one of the designs in the Halloween Nights Designer Series Paper pack.  Adhere these two layers together and add Stampin' Dimensionals before centering over the Pumpkin Pie Circle.
  • Ink up the sentiment using Archival Basic Gray ink and stamp onto a strip of Pumpkin Pie cardstock.  Die cut the sentiment using the framelit from the Bunch of Banners Framelits set.  Add Stampin' Dimensionals and tuck under the Halloween house and center on the from Basic Black strip.
  • Last, but not least, die cut a witch from Basic Black cardstock using the die from the Halloween Scenes Edglits Dies set.  Add a Stampin' Dimensional to give a spooky feel.  Buwhaaaa!

Isn't that the coolest way to show off those scary houses?!!  I am so excited that I have finally made a Double Z-fold card because I have a wonderful idea for a baby card that is looonnnng overdue.  Oh, I'm talking about my card, not the baby.  LOL!!  I hope you will give this fancy fold technique a try...then, share it with me! I love to receive inspiration. There's more Spooky Fun coming your way...next on the hop is Dena Rekow's blog.  I know she will have a wonderful Spooky Fun creation to share with you.  Click on the 'Next' button and you'll be at your next stop.  If you get lost or sidetracked, please come on back and follow the list of participants shown below.  Have fun filling your inspiration bucket...don't forget to come back real soon.  :)

OSAT Blog Hop -- Happy Birthdays Bash

OSAT-BlogHop-Header-2016
Good morning stampers and paper crafters!  Welcome to our One Stamp At a Time (OSAT) Design Team Blog Hop for the month of September!  I hope everyone's week is going well.  My week has been a blur and starting back to work on Tuesday didn't help...OMGosh!  It's been crazy to say the least.  Nonetheless, I am very thankful for your visit today. This may be your first stop on the hop (YEAH...muwhaaa!), or you may have come from the previous stampers blog. Either way, in order to view all of the blog participants sharing their wonderful craftiness, click on the "NEXT" button at the bottom of each post.

I was super excited for this month's blog hop because I knew exactly what I was going to create and share for our theme "Birthdays Bash"!  Yep!  It's a rarity that I was able to plan a tad bit ahead of time.  haha  I owe it all to my wonderful, sweet, and AH-mayzing 93-year-young Grandmother.  Her birthday happened to fall on Labor Day this year and I was able to make it back home to spend some time with her.  LOVE her to pieces....just wish I was able to make it back more often to see her.  For the age of 93, she still motors around like she's 39!  And, spunky, too!  She doesn't miss a beat.  So, in due honor of my Grandmother, let's see what I created especially for her.

OSATHop-BirthdayBash-Gma93-Lori-DSC01503

Creative Tips:

  • The card base is Pool Party cardstock, measuring 5-1/2" x 8-1/2"" and scored at 4-1/4".
  • Using the regular weighted Whisper White cardstock, I layered on a bunch of 3/4" punched circles from the cardstock colors of Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Smokey Slate and So Saffron.   Using the Sprinkles Punch and the same colors as the circles, I 'sprinkled' on some confetti.
  • The numbers were die cut using the Large Numbers Framelits.  I die cut 2 Pool Party and 2 Calypso Coral so that I could stack them for added dimension.
  • The words "Happy" and "Birthday" come from the "Number of Years" stamp set and were inked in Basic Gray Archival ink and stamped onto a strip of Whisper White.  Trim down and set in place with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • The 'ribbon' was created using several strands from the Thick Baker's Twine...Calypso Coral and Whisper White.  I twisted the two colors together, wrapped around the main panel and tied in a bow.  Neat, huh?!!
  • DID YOU KNOW? that you can click on any images I include related to the project to see an enlarged version?  Yep!  I do this so that you can see the details of my projects a weeee bit better. As I get older, I'm finding myself pulling out what I call my "granny glasses".  haha

Petite Cafe Gift Bag Project:  One of my favorite things in the Stampin' Up! catalog is the large variety of bags and boxes available to help you create quick and easy treat/gift packages to accompany your beautiful card.

OSATHopBirthdayBash-Gma93Bag-Lori-DSC01494

 Creative Tips:

  • The Petite Cafe Gift Bags are an excellent choice for quick and easy to decorate gift-giving.
  • The tag is created using a 2" strip of Calypso Coral that was banner cut using the Triple Banner Punch, and layered with a couple of 1" strips of A Little Foxy Designer Series Paper...also banner cut.
  • The main party of the tag is created with a strip of Whisper White cardstock that was pleated on one end until it formed a circle.  Glue the two ends together and secure with a Calypso Coral piece that was die cut using the Layering Circle Framelits.

Here is a picture of me with my beautiful, spunky, sassy and overall AMAZING Grandmother.  Love you with all my heart and soooo much more, Grandma!
