Good morning stampers, and Welcome to my stop on the hop! April Showers, Bring May Flowers...perfect for our One Stamp At a Time (OSAT) Design Team Blog Hop. As I was preparing my projects, my mind was thinking about one of my team members who does not like flowers. eeek! Who doesn't like flowers?!! Well, it's only the flowers that come in a stamp set...I do believe that she is okay with her hubby surprising her with a lovely bouquet now and again. haha! Over the last year, she has started coming out of her shell and flower images are starting to grow on her...well, at least, she has been making cards with them, anyway. WHEW!! This may be your first stop on the hop, or you may have hopped over here from Lisa Altman's blog. Either way, in order to view all of the blog participants sharing their wonderful craftiness, click on the "NEXT" button at the bottom of each post.
The theme for our hop today is "Flower Power". Since the Retiring List came out yesterday, I thought I had better give some love to a few items that made the list...Oh So Succulent stamp set and the coordinating Succulent Framelits Dies are on that list. So, if you feel inspired by my projects, I highly recommend that you run to my online store and purchase yourself the bundle. Everything is while supplies last! I am sooo excited about my project shares because I totally had my Mom in mind while creating it. The sentiment "Because of you, I am me" resonates so soundly in my heart. All my life, I have been told "you are so much like your Mother"....you are a "Judy Junior". My Mom and I were not very close when I lived at home. We are so much alike that we butted heads....A LOT! But, over the years, I yearn to spend more time with her...and more proud, everyday, to "be just like Mom". It is because of her (and my sweet grandmother) that I have a deep flow of DIY/crafty blood streaming through my veins. I'm the oldest of 4 kids, and the only one who carries the passion. And, I'm loving every bit of it! I love you, Mom!! It truly is "Because of you, I am me."
Creative Tips:
- Working with the colors that coordinate with the Playful Palette Designer Series Paper Stack, I selected Peekaboo Peach for the card base. Layer on a piece of designer paper onto the card front.
- Use the Aqua Painter to color on some Peekaboo Peach ink in the center. Run the Very Vanilla layer through the Big Shot using the Brick Wall Embossing Folder. Adhere this layer to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid glue.
- The focal image is a Stitched Circle die cut from Peekaboo Peach cardstock. Add some Silver Metallic Thread and top with the flower images that have been stamped using Archival Basic Black, Sweet Sugarplum. The sprigs of greenery are stamped using Emerald Envy, then handcut.
- Heat emboss the sentiment with VersaMark and White Embossing Powder.
Inspirational Tag: The Tags & Labels Framelits Dies made the Retiring List. I used the largest die of this shape to cut a tag from the Playful Palette Designer Series Paper stack. The Peekaboo Peach flower was created with 3 of the dies in the Succulent Framelits Dies set. I heat embossed the sentiment with White Embossing powder onto a strip of Sweet Sugarplum cardstock and popped it into place with Stampin' Dimensionals. Top it off with some 3/8" Peekaboo Peach Ruched Ribbon and Basic Black Bakers Twine.
Creative Tips:
- One of my most favorite things about creating is the opportunity for coordination of colors...all under one catalog cover! From cardstocks to inks to accessories...the flow of color shines through with complimentary projects. I love how I was able to tie the colors together...saves time and money to have it all at my fingertips.
- DID YOU KNOW? that you can click on any images I include related to the project to see an enlarged version? Yep! I do this so that you can see the details of my projects a weeee bit better. As I get older, I'm finding myself pulling out what I call my "granny glasses". haha
The following products used are on the Retiring List:
