A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop -- Sprinkled With Love

PPHop-HeaderPic

Hello Stampers and Papercrafters!  Weeerrrre Baaaaack!  Yep!  It's May and we're having a Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop!!  A number of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from all over the world have joined together to share alternative projects using supplies from the monthly kit.  This month's hop features the fun and puny "Sprinkled With Love" kit.  We're talking Donuts!  Lots of donuts! I didn't stray too far from the original design, so we could say that I added a WOW factor.  Let's take a peek.

PP-May2017-SprinkledWithLove-Lori-DSC04963

Outside of the precut flowers and banners, everything else was circular shaped.  Circle card bases...some with holes in the center, some not, and circles layers with holes.  I believe this kit is in recognition of National Donut Day coming up June 2nd.  Not sure, but it is super fun and cute.

I chose one of the circular card bases without a hole in the center and showcasing a spray of gold embossing. Using most of the supplies that came in the kit, I couldn't help but add a few more circular accessories to keep the whole arrangement in unison.  The Delicate White Doilies was the perfect size that allowed for a hint of the gold spray to still shine through.  I hadn't played with Swirly Scribbles Thinlits in a while, so I thought it would be fun to add one of the new 2017-2019 In Colors...Fresh Fig.  Really love that new color! I mean *really* LUV that color!  The kit came with a spool of Thick Gold Thread which is wonderful to work with...different than any of the Baker's Twine Stampin' Up! has offered.

PP-May2017-SprinkledWithLoveFlat-Lori-DSC04967

This month's kit came with an 11-piece stamp set.  Some images reference pun-type sentiments and others were more generic accent images and sentiments. I love that the kit came with a selection of all white or the color-matched baby blue banners, because the white was just too stark for this project.  The same goes for the die-cut flowers.  One side White, the other is Vanilla.  So, can you guess which flower color I chose?  Yep!  the Vanilla.  To add a little contrast color, die cut some Wild Wasabi leaves using the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits and set into place around the Soft Suede sentiment. There are these really cool iridescent dots that I'm sure are for sprinkling on the donuts, but I thought they were perfect to finish off the flowers.  WOW!!

Creative Inking Blog Hop -- What Goes Around in Circles

 CreativeInking-HeaderImage

Good evening crafty stamper friends!  Welcome to our Creative Inking Blog Hop for the month of May!  This months theme is "What Goes Around", which leads the imagination straight to circles, right?  Or, the old saying "what comes around, goes around".

You may be starting from here at my blog, Lori Mueller - Stampin' Dreams, or you may have come here from the talented Lynn Streifert's blog. Please be sure to click the 'Next' button (found below) to move along the Creative Inking blog hop. If you get off track at any time, the full line up below will help you move along from blog to blog.

CreativeInkingHop-GoesAroundBasketBunch-Lori-DSC04737

One of the first things I thought of was the Merry-go-round in the small park where I grew up.  The next thought was about a dear friend of ours who passed away coming up two years ago....way too early.  He loved to juggle, and was pretty good at it, too.  He was able to get up to four items in rotation and could never quite get that 5th item in the mix.  So, I decided to pull out the Basket Bunch stamp set and coordinating Basket Builder Framelits Dies and have some fun.

Creative Tips:

  • I love the sturdiness of our Thick Whisper White cardstock...especially, when you plan to have multiple layers and embellishments.
  • The Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper sets the stage layered on some Old Olive cardstock.  Before adhering the two, you'll want to die cut each one with a Layering Ovals Framelit die.  NOTE:  The key to ensuring that they center and nest perfectly is to die cut the patterned paper first.  Then, you can go ahead and adhere the designer paper to the Old Olive layer.  Finally, using the next smaller Layering Oval Framelit die, center within the designer paper oval and cut the Old Olive layer using the Big Shot.

CreativeInkingHop-GoesAroundBasketBunchFlat-Lori-DSC04805

  • To get the Thick Whisper White Baker's Twine to look less bulky, cut the length needed and pull apart each strand.  Then bundle them together and wrap around the designer paper and cardstock layers and tie into a bow.
  • Stamp the grass image using Old Olive ink.
  • The die cut bunny and eggs come from the Basket Bunch stamp set and the complimentary Basket Builder Framelits Dies.  ALERT!  These are listed as a bundle in the Occasions catalog saving you 10%.  Buuuut, this bundle has landed on the Retirement list and are individually sale priced at 20% off.  That's awesome!  You need to go shopping in my store to get yours
  • Everything has a little bit of color with the help of the Aqua Painter and a variety of Classic Ink colors, then popped up using Dimensionals.  I. LOVE. DIMENSION!  ;)
    .

Soooo, who said bunnies are only around at Easter time?  haha  Did you notice I added the 5th egg to the juggling?  I'm sure my dear friend has mastered the skill by now....gracefully and flawlessly juggling all 5 items.  ;)  Don't forget!  If you don't have any of the products I used, you'll want to make sure to submit your order through my online store.  Just remember, everything is while supplies last.  I hope you will give it a try.

I'm anxious to jump on this "What Goes Around" hop to see what the rest of the group had in mind when they learned about this month's theme.  You'll want to make sure and hop on over to Dena Rekow's blog...she is one creative cookie, I tell you. Click on the 'Next' button and you'll be at your next stop.  If you get lost or sidetracked, please come on back and follow the list of participants shown below.  Have fun filling your inspiration bucket...don't forget to come back real soon.  :)

Stamp It Blog Hop -- Celebrate Father's Day

May2017-TeamStampIt-Header

Good morning stampers and paper crafters!  Thank you for visiting my share of the Stamp It Blog Hop.  First question of the day...do you struggle to create a card for the men and boys?  Well, if you said 'YES', then you are not alone!  I, and a whole lot of other crafters, battle the same fight.  Sooo, you are in for a crafting treat, because this month's theme is all about creating something masculine.  YEAH!!

If you have been traveling along the Stamp It Group Blog Hop, you may have come here from my sweet friend, Oksana Semenska's blog.  If this is your very first stop, I want to thank you so much for stopping to visit me. If you like to skip and hop and happen to get off track, the full blog lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.

StampItHop-MasculineSeasideShore-Lori-DSC04940

Second question of the day...how many men do you know that LUV to fish?  Oh my gosh!  I know quite a few, and they are as crazed about their fishing as us crafters are...well...about crafting!  Teehehe  I chose to highlight the Seaside Shore stamp set because I had my nephew in mind.  I'm not sure that he is much of a fisherman, but he is out on a boat serving in the Marines.  Hmmm, I wonder if he is even allowed to throw a lure over the side?

Creative Tips:

  • Following the colors coordinating with the Designer Series Paper, the cardbase is Mint Macaron, the designer paper is matted onto Dapper Denim, and the sentiment is stamped and matted on Dapper Denim cardstock, attached to the Calypso Coral Scalloped square from the Layering Squares Framelits using dimensionals.

StampItHop-MasculineSeasideShoreFlat-Lori-DSC04938

  • To build on the boat and fishing theme, the Very Vanilla Thick Baker's Twine was tied in a slip knot and slipped behind the panel on both sides.
  • The fish was inked in Calypso Coral and stamped onto scrap Very Vanilla cardstock, cut out and popped up using dimensionals.
  • Using Stampin' Write markers to color in various words or phrases of a sentiment adds the perfect WOW factor.

UPDATE:  The By The Shore Designer Series Paper, Mint Macaron cardstock, and Very Vanilla Thick Baker’s Twine are all retiring at the end of this month...last day is May 31st.  And, everything is while supplies last.  In fact, the By The Shore designer paper must already be sold out as I could not find it, but the other two items I listed are still in stock.  Don't delay....order from my online store today!

For more Mother's Day themed inspiration, make sure you visit the other Stamp It Group members' blogs to see what projects they have to share.  Thanks for stopping by....stop back again real soon.

Stampin Friends Blog Hop -- Sympathy and Flowers

BlogHopHeader-2017

Good morning to everyone!  Welcome to my stop on the Stampin Friends Blog Hop!  I am excited to share with you that I am your Guest Blog Hopper this month.  **squeal**  The theme evolves around anything with Flowers and/or Sympathy...our choice.  I chose to go with flowers...a woman's best friend...right after the diamond, right?!! haha I'm going to share a sneak peek of a some new products that will be coming out in the new Annual Stampin' Up! catalog set to go live on June 1st....the Daisy Delight stamp set and the coordinating Daisy Punch.  This set will be offered as a bundle...a 10% savings.  I love bundles!!  Now, get ready to be WOW'd because I know you are going to love what I have created for this hop.

This may be your first stop on the hop, or you may have hopped over here from Maureen Rauchfuss's blog. Either way, in order to view all of the blog participants sharing their wonderful craftiness, click on the "NEXT" button at the bottom of each post; or, their name found in the blog hop participant list.

StampinFriendsHop-DaisyDelightThanks-Lori-DSC04810

First up, is a clean-and-simple greeting card showing off the colors of Sweet Sugarplum, Flirty Flamingo, Sahara Sand (cardbase), and a brand new In Color called Lemon Lime Twist.  Look how cool Lemon Lime Twist pairs up with the other colors...the perfect blend of brightness and very appealing.

Creative Tips:

  • To add some 'pop' and 'character', the Daisy image from the Daisy Delight stamp set was inked in VersaMark, stamped onto Sweet Sugarplum cardstock, covered with Clear Embossing Powder and melted with the Heat Tool.  To bring life to this gorgeous daisy, use the Stampin' Up! Bone Folder to give each petal a slight curl.  Before setting in place on the Pick A Pattern Designer Series paper and Lemon Lime Twist layers, die cut the Lemon Lime Twist banner strip using the Bunch of Banners Framelits Dies set.  Adhere the Daisy with Stampin' Dimensionals over some Silver Metallic Thread and the Lemon Lime Twist banner strip.

StampinFriendsHop-DaisyDelightThanksFlat-Lori-DSC04816

  • The flower center comes from the Wood Words stamp set.  Another sneak peek at a new stamp set coming out June 1st.
  • The Designer Series Paper is part of a new series called Pick a Pattern.  The texture of the Flirty Flamingo cardstock was created using the Seaside Embossing Folder.

Paper Daisy Topiary:  I am in 7th Heaven when Stampin' Up! teams up two products to help me create quickly.  The Daisy Punch got quite the workout to change up a drab old foam cone to a beeee-u-tiful Daisy Topiary!  I used Daffodil Delight, Sweet Sugarplum, and Whisper White cardstock to create the flowers.  Some of the Daisy's were stamped with the Daisy image using Daffodil Delight and Sweet Sugarplum Classic Ink.  This is going to look amazing on my desk at the office (my other full-time job).  ;)

OSAT Blog Hop -- Clean and Simple Eastern Palace

OSATBlogHop-2017Header

Hello, hello, hello stampers and paper crafters!  Welcome to my stop on the One Stamp At a Time (OSAT) Design Team Blog Hop!  This months theme is an extremely difficult one for me...Clean and Simple.  Now, one would think 'oh, that should be easy...you don't need a whole lot of stuff', but not for me.  I just cannot do it!  I struggle with the 'less is more' philosophy. I mean, really?!!  Have you seen my past projects?  They are full of layers, textures, accessories, dimension and fine details.  Oh, c'mon Lori...pull it together... clean and simple.  You CAN do this!!

This may be your first stop on the hop, or you may have hopped over here from Jeanna Bohanon's blog. Either way, in order to view all of the blog participants sharing their wonderful craftiness, click on the "NEXT" button at the bottom of each post.

OSATHop-CleanSimpleEasternPalaceCard-Lori-DSC04908

To start off my clean and simple layout, I chose to work with the early released Eastern Palace Suite of products...Eastern Beauty stamp set and the coordinating Eastern Medallions Thinlits Dies.  Oh, and you'll need the Layering Circles Framelits Dies to create even more variety with the Eastern Medallions Thinlits.  Super fun together!

Creative Tips:

  • Tone on Tone card layers are really a big thing right now.  The Very Vanilla cardbase and the next layer with no embossing texture or stamping fall right into the clean and simple theme...so far, so good!
  • The 4-cornered clovers are die cut from Berry Burst, Powder Pink, and Tranquil Tide.  NOTE:  Snip each one at the inner corners to use them individually as shown in the picture below.

OSATHop-CleanSimpleEasternPalaceCard-Lori-DSC04899

  • Using a Circle Framelit, die cut Dazzling Diamonds paper to show off the beauty of the Lemon Lime Twist Medallion centers.
  • The Powder Pink center was stamped with the dotted circle image using Tranquil Tide Ink.  The sentiment was inked in Berry Burst, punched with a 1" circle punch and popped on top with dimensionals.  All layered over top some Silver Metallic Thread and 1/2" Lemon Lime Twist Finely Woven Ribbon.

Upcycled Flower Jar:  The Eastern Medallions Thinlits Dies create a really cute flower arrangement.  Tying it all together with the card, the same new In Colors of Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist and Tranquil Tide make up the flowers.  The jar was painted with a pink wash, which resembles the new Powder Pink In Color.  I love it when things coordinate and match so well.

OSATHop-CleanSimpleEasternPalaceJar-Lori-DSC04902

Creative Tips:

  • To save time, the 3 dies needed to create the Lemon Lime Twist and Tranquil Tide flower center can all be nested inside each other to save time and one pass through the Big Shot.  You'll use 2 dies from the Eastern Medallion Thinlits Dies set and one of the Layering Circles Framelits.  LOVE it!
  • DID YOU KNOW? that you can click on any images I include related to the project to see an enlarged version?  Yep!  I do this so that you can see the details of my projects a weeee bit better. As I get older, I'm finding myself pulling out what I call my "granny glasses".  haha
