A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop -- One In A Melon

PPHop-HeaderPic

Hello Stampers and Papercrafters!  Here we are...another month has passed; and, it's time for the June Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop!!  YEAH!!  A number of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from all over the world have joined together to share alternative projects using supplies from the monthly kit.  This month's hop features the fun and puny "One In A Melon" kit.  Perfect for Summer picnics, family reunions, or an after dinner dessert.  Lots of sweetness, for sure! I'm super excited to share my altered kit project with you...let's get to it, shall we.

PPThingHop-June2017MelonKitVert-Lori-DSC05025

I haven't made little 3x3 cards in quite a while, so it was really fun working with a smaller canvas versus the traditional A2 size card (4-1/4" x 5-1/2").  It was the perfect size to fit the Sweet Melon and a little sentiment.  I love it when the instructions that come with each Paper Pumpkin kit include the list of coordinating Stampin' Up! colors.  It takes all the guess work out of my crafting.

Since the melon rind was inked and stamped in Emerald Envy, I decided the card base would be the best to compliment the focal image.  One of the 'fruity' notecards became my designer paper to compliment the neighboring Crushed Curry cardstock that was dry embossed with the Softly Falling Textured Embossing Folder.  Another perk to the Paper Pumpkin kits is that they come with all of the embellishments, ink spots, dimensionals and glue dots.  Made to be super easy and stress free!

While I was at it, I created a 2nd version of the 3x3 card.  Just as cute, right?!!  The Melon Mambo Baker's Twine really ties it all together.  These are going to be super cute with the little gifts some of my customers earned with their recent online orders.  I can't wait to hear their excitement.  Yep!  I can hear their **squeal** excitement from any distance!  haha

To get more inspiration for alternative ideas creating with the June Paper Pumpkin kit, make sure you visit the other A Paper Pumpkin Thing Group members' blogs to see what projects they have to share.  Thanks for stopping by....stop back again real soon.

June Stamp It Blog Hop -- A Patriotic Summer Love

StampIt-JuneHeader

Good morning stampers and paper crafters!  Thank you for visiting my share of the Stamp It Blog Hop. When I saw this month's theme "Summer Lovin'", I immediately thought of a flower bouquet.  So, what do I do with a flower bouquet?  Well, here in America, we celebrate the Fourth of July, so why not go Patriotic?!!  Summer and the Red, White and Blue equals a Beautiful Bouquet, which just so happens to be the name of the stamp set, too. Lots of fun!!

If you have been traveling along the Stamp It Group Blog Hop, you may have come here from my sweet friend, Pam Nichol's blog.  If this is your very first stop, I want to thank you so much for stopping to visit me. If you like to skip and hop and happen to get off track, the full blog lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.

So, what do you think?  I decided to make this a birthday card because the flower images made me think of those large firework sprays...some splatter in all directions and lots are nice big round blooms.  Do you see it, too?  LOVE it!

Creative Tips:

  • I'm in heaven when a stamp set is loaded with a bunch of images, but even better when there is a coordinating set of framelits to help you quickly create a bouquet with dimension.  Thank heavens for the Bouquet Bunch Framelits!!  NO fussy cutting (aka hand cutting the flower images using scissors).  Eeek!

StampItHop-SummerLovinBeautifulBouquetFlowers-Lori-DSC04995

  • To add a little sparkle to my Fourth of July summer theme, I decided to add some of the Silver Mini Sequences to the center of the large Real Red flowers.

StampItHop-SummerLovinBeautifulBouquetFlat-Lori-DSC04994

  • Another favorite thing of mine is to use our Stampin' Write Markers to hand color the sentiments.  It is a definite WOW factor and really adds to the color coordination and appeal of the design.

For more Summer Lovin' themed inspiration, make sure you hop onto Rachel Nichol's blog and all the other Stamp It Group members' blogs to see what projects they have to share.  Thank you so much for stopping by....stop back again real soon.

Creative Inking Blog Hop -- A Gorgeous Bundle Extravaganza!!

CreativeInking-HeaderImage

Hello, hello, hello to you my crafty stamper friends!  Welcome to our Creative Inking Blog Hop for the month of June!  This months theme is "Exclusive Bundles".  This is where we are to showcase our 'favorite' bundle with a beautiful creation.  eeek!  I don't think I'll have a problem creating a beautiful masterpiece (if I do say so myself...*giggle*), but to choose our favorite bundle?  Now, that's asking an awful lot, don't you think, because I haven't been able to settle on just ONE bundle.  Have I already told you just how much I am in love with our new Annual catalog?  Yes, that little gem is AHHH-mazing and is filled with sooo many fun and gorgeous products.

You may be starting from here at my blog, Lori Mueller - Stampin' Dreams, or you may have come here from the talented Sandy Mott's blog. Please be sure to click the 'Next' button (found below) to move along the Creative Inking blog hop. If you get off track at any time, the full line up below will help you move along from blog to blog.

CreativeInkingHop-FavoriteBundle-GorgeousBirthday-Lori-DSC05005

I am sooo excited to share my creation featuring the Happy Birthday Gorgeous Bundle.  This bundle includes the "Happy Birthday Gorgeous Stamp Set and the complimentary Happy Birthday Thinlits Dies.  Both of these items can be viewed in my product list illustrated at the bottom of this post.  June is a busy birthday month for my family with the next 3 Thursdays landing a family gathering to celebrate.  This coming Thursday is our oldest daughter's 24th birthday.  waaaahhh  I cannot believe that she is nearing her mid-20's!  This means that I am getting OLD-er!  So, my share is the birthday mini treat bag card that she will receive with a little moolah and a gift card to her favorite restaurant.

Creative Tips:

  • The really cool thing about the new Foil Frenzy Specialty Designer Series Paper is that you can showcase either the plain Kraft side; or, do like I did and show off the beauty and shimmer of the Berry Burst stripes.  I love the sturdiness of this new paper...perfect for making gift boxes, mini treat bag, or a gift card envelope using our framelits and punch boards.
  • Our 5/8" Burlap Ribbon sets the tone for a rustic/country setting tied off with the new 5/8" Berry Burst Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon.
  • So that the Berry Burst "Happy Birthday" Thinlit did not get hidden among the strong colored stripes of the Foil Designer Paper, die cut several of them and stack them using Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets.  No mess!!!, and makes it super easy to adhere the thin die cuts together.

CreativeInkingHop-FavoriteBundle-GorgeousBirthdayFlat-Lori-DSC05010

  • I am in love with the Berry Burst and Lemon Lime Twist In Color combination...bold and vibrant, but in this setting with the Delicate Doilies and Crumb Cake Layering Circles Framelit die, the mood is softened.  Pop up the Delicate Doilies focal circle using Dimensionals.  I. LOVE. DIMENSION!  ;)
  • The card insert is just a layer of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock topped with Whisper White cardstock.  The real fun begins with the punched balloon image that has been glued to the top to use as a pull tab.  Stinkin' cute, right?!!  The image was inked with Berry Burst and stamped onto a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock.
  • Love how everything coordinates!  Ink colors with cardstock...stamped images with punches...and, ribbons to match the color scheme.  All of this can be found under one 'roof', per se!    LOVE it!
    .

Don't forget!  If you don't have any of the products I used, you'll want to make sure to submit your order through my online store.  I hope you will give it a try.

I'm anxious to jump on this "What Goes Around" hop to see what the rest of the group had in mind when they learned about this month's theme.  You'll want to make sure and hop on over to Dena Rekow's blog...she is one creative cookie, I tell you. Click on the 'Next' button and you'll be at your next stop.  If you get lost or sidetracked, please come on back and follow the list of participants shown below.  Have fun filling your inspiration bucket...don't forget to come back real soon.  :)

OSAT Blog Hop -- All About Men

OSATBlogHop-2017Header

Hello, hello, hello stampers and paper crafters!  Welcome to my stop on the One Stamp At a Time (OSAT) Design Team Blog Hop!  This months theme is often times a difficult one for many crafters...All About Men. This may be your first stop on the hop, or you may have hopped over here from Kelly Acheson's blog. Either way, in order to view all of the blog participants sharing their wonderful craftiness, click on the "NEXT" button at the bottom of each post.

OSATHop-AboutMenThisLittlePig-Lori-DSC04979

To create a masculine card, one struggles if they feel they don't own a 'masculine' stamp set.  Or, they don't own 'masculine-type' paper.  I'm going to attempt to help you get past that hurdle using the stamp set "This Little Piggy" and some amazing tools, such as the Layering Squares Framelits and the Hexagon Textured Embossing folder.  Plus, the images in this set are super cute and can create a masculine card for all ages.  Lots of fun!

Creative Tips:

  • The Hexagon Textured Embossing folder has a lot of character and small patterns that can often times pull and stretch the cardstock and cause it to weaken and tear.  To avoid that, lightly mist the cardstock using the Stampin' Spritzer and water.  The damp cardstock will be more pliable and be more forgiving when stretched tightly in so many different directions.
  • It is always fun to include contrasting patterns, such as the 1" strip of Wood Textured Designer Series paper.  Just a little bit is complimentary to the embossed cardstock layer.

OSATHop-AboutMen-ThisLittlePiggyFlat-Lori-DSC04984

  • Bakers Twine is a subtle accessory to dress up a masculine card...and, finishing it with a bow is perfectly okay, too.
  • Throw in a little watercoloring using the Aqua Painter and the ink squished into the lid of your ink pad makes This Little Piggy comes to life with a Smoky Slate body and Powder Pink nose.  Layer 'him' onto the new Tranquil Tide Scalloped Square using Stampin' Dimensionals.  NOTE:  Tranquil Tide is one of the newest In Colors...an awesome, deep and rich 'masculine' color.

DID YOU KNOW? that you can click on any images I include related to the project to see an enlarged version?  Yep!  I do this so that you can see the details of my projects a weeee bit better. As I get older, I'm finding myself pulling out what I call my "granny glasses".  haha

At this time, you are now ready to hop on over to Pam Staples’s blog.  You won't want to miss traveling on as I know that she will have something adorable to share with you.  If you prefer to work your way backwards, you can jump back to Kelly Acheson's blog.  Either way, be sure to work your way through all of the blogs so you don’t miss a thing!
