Christmas in July – Carols of Christmas Blog Hop

Carolsofchristmasbloghop-768x188

Hello stampers and crafters!  Today is a special Stampin' Leaders Blog Hop in the fact that all Thailand Achievers received the new Carols of Christmas stamp set and the coordinating Card Front Builder Thinlits Dies during the General Session gathering.  So, what better way to show off this new bundle and all of its glorious potential than with a Stampin' Leaders Blog Hop.  I have to admit that even though I know this bundle is amazing, I was a tad bit nervous about creating my first card.  Wierd, hugh?!!  I was afraid that I would not be able to rein in all the thoughts and create something in a decent amount of time...that it would take me FOREVER.  Nope, this card came together quite nicely.  Let's take a look.

StampinLeadersHop-CarolsOfChristmasLeft-Lori-DSC05470

Creative Tips:

  • The Very Vanilla cardstock base will see a tad bit of layering with the new designer series paper, some stamping, and adorned with Old Olive Sheeer Ribbon.

StampinLeadersHop-CarolsOfChristmasFlat-Lori-DSC05473

  • The sentiment and ornament strings images were inked with Basic Black Archival ink and stamped onto Very Vanilla cardstock.  The ornaments were stamped directly to the card front...no extra layer ...just simple and clean....and, I like it!  ;)
  • Die cut the sentiment using the largest Stitched Shapes Squares die and the Big Shot.  Matte the sentiment with a scalloped square die from the Layering Squares Framelits for an added element.
  • One fun little tidbit...there are 2 separate stamp images of ornaments.  Instead of taking turns stamping each image to the cardbase front, I just stuck both of them to my block, ink, and stamped at the same time.
  • The ornaments were inked and stamped onto scrap pieces of Very Vanilla cardstock with Bermuda Bay, Berry Bliss, and Crushed Curry Classic inks.  I picked up this color combination from the new In Color Combinations sheet designed by Stampin' Up!.  All of my wonderful customers received this sheet with the new Annual Catalog mailing.  Very helpful when you are stuck trying to come up with a fun color combination.  Then, die cut them out with the Card Front Builder Thinlits Dies and the Big Shot.  Set them in place over the Basic Black stamped images and pop them up with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • Wrap the card front with 1/8" Old Olive Sheer Ribbon and tie into a bow.
    .

Sooo, what do you think?  Pretty cute and elegant, not to mention pretty darned easy!  I'm contemplating using this card for own Christmas card...very easy to mass-produce.

Now make sure to click on the next blog hopper so that you can be on your way to soak in some more Carols of Christmas inspiration.  There is a huge line-up of hoppers...enjoy them all! I love to read the comments that come through, so I hope you will share with me your thoughts with my Carols of Christmas sneak peek.  Have fun filling your inspiration bucket...don't forget to come back real soon.

Stamp It Blog Hop -- Christmas in July

July2017-TeamStampIt-Header

Good morning stampers and paper crafters!  Thank you for stopping by to check out my share of the Stamp It Blog Hop. When I first thought about this month's theme "Christmas in July'", I wasn't fully in the mood to stamp a Christmas card because of the high heat and humidity here in Nebraska.  Buuut, as it turns out, today is going to be in the low to mid-80's.  Cooler weather sure does help steer the mind to craft with Christmas spirit.  Fa-la-la-la!

If you have been traveling along the Stamp It Group Blog Hop, you may have come here from my sweet friend, Tami White's blog.  If this is your very first stop, I want to thank you so much for stopping to visit me. If you like to skip and hop and happen to get off track, the full blog lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.

StampItHop-XmasJuly-ChristmasQuiltRight-Lori-DSC05464

Are you wondering to yourself, "what stamp set is this?  Oooh! and, how did you do that quilting?"  Teehehe  Well, one of the wonderful pillow gifts I received in Thailand was a brand new bundle that will be coming out with the new Holiday catalog.  The "Christmas Quilt" stamp set and coordinating "Quilt Builder Framelits Dies" is part of a new suite of products that you are going to fall in love with.  I know I have.

Creative Tips:

  • The color combination includes Real Red, Blushing Bride, Garden Green and Pool Party all topping a 3x3, Whisper White cardbase.  Using the Quilt Builder Framelits and the Big Shot, I die cut the quilt from each color.  Separate the pieces from the frame of the quilt pattern and rearrange the colors and piece them back into the quilt frame to your liking

StampItHop-XmasJuly-ChristmasQuiltLeft-Lori-DSC05463

  • The focal image is made up of a Lemon Lime Twist scallop circle die using the Layering Circle Framelits and the Big Shot.  Stamp the flower image with Pool Party Classic Ink and die cut with coordinating framelit.  Adhere to the scallop circle with Fast Fuse.  Stamp the sentiment with Real Red Classic Ink onto a strip of Whisper White cardstock and add with Stampin' Dimensionals.  Dress it up with a small strand of Mini Silver Sequences and a Whisper White Baker's Twine bow.

  • Since there were 4 colors used, it made it very easy to create 4 of these adorable 3x3 note cards.  Super CUTE!!

For more Christmas in July themed inspiration, make sure you hop on over to Rachel Nichol's blog and all the other Stamp It Group members' blogs to see what projects they have to share.  Thank you so much for stopping by....stop back again real soon.

Thailand Achievers Blog Hop -- Holiday Catalog Sneak Peek

HolidayCatalog-ThailandAchieversHop-Header

Welcome to the Thailand Trip Achievers Blog Hop for July 2017!!

I'm baaaack from Thailand; and I am sooo grateful for the amazing trip to a 3rd world country.  A trip that I'm pretty sure I would not have planned to take in my lifetime.  I have so many wonderful customers, amazing team members, and loving family and friends to thank extensively for helping me achieve my goal...to earn a trip to Thailand for my hubby and me.  THANK YOU!!

Would you like to take a trip like this just by doing what you LOVE to do?  I can help you!  Stampin' Up! really spoils the demonstrators...I can't even begin to describe just how incredibly appreciated I felt during this trip.  Let me share with you some of the spoiling that we experienced...this doesn't even begin to tip the iceberg.

BalconyRoom-BeachPan-July2017Lori-IMG_3667

This was is a panoramic view from the 3rd floor balcony...breathtaking and very grateful for the best view on the resort!  Listening to the sounds of the waves crack as they hit the shore was very relaxing...definitely took advantage of the peacefulness and serenity. This resort was HUGE and we basically had the whole place to ourselves.  So, I felt very much 'at home' running into all my friends each day...and, making new friends, too.

PillowGift-Lori-DSC05314

I'm going to share with you some of the awesome gifts that we received each night...they were packaged in brown wrapping and wrapped with some 3/8" Gold Metallic-Edge Ribbon, adorned with Mini Tassels, and accompanied by a Thailand tag.  Christmas excitement arrived as a 'pillow gift' every night!

GiftToteBag-Lori-IMG_3583

Here was the wonderful Tote Bag that we received on Thursday night....big and sturdy enough to haul all my pillow gifts, prize patrol, card swaps, and a few souvenirs.  It came in very handy to carry on the plane home with me.  Stampin' Up! is always thinking!

This was the gorgeous gift we received Friday night after coming back from an amazing Closing Ceremony at the Blue Elephant.  Thai cuisine and handcrafted souvenirs for purchase lined the largest outdoor tent I have ever seen in my life.  Check out the special touch of Stampin' Up!'s logo silk printed on the inside of the box....not a beat missed for making me feel very much appreciated.

Gift-ElephantNecklace-Lori-IMG_3728

AND, the little Elephant charm necklace was handed to us as we departed the Closing Ceremony.  "To love what we do and share what we love".  Warms my heart with all the passion I have for what I do, to share with everyone, and for this wonderful company.

Gifts-FreeProducts-Lori-IMG_3770

Soooo, the most exciting gift we received, outside of all the FREE product (yes, TONS of new product) given to us through the week was theeee most beautiful ...waaiiiit for it!

HolidayCatalogSelfie-Lori-IMG_3298

....Holiday Catalog EVER!!  OH. MY. GOSH!!!  We were all gushing through the pages that morning during the Opening General Session.  Of course, they waited until towards the end of the session, because, you know....no one was raising their head to pay attention to what was said after these babies reached our fingertips.  Haha!

Would you like to see a sneak peak of a card we were able to create using brand new products from the Holiday catalog??  No?  Maybe?  Okay...yeesssss!  I thought you would.  Feast your eyes on the "Joy" card showing all kinds of beautiful shine.

A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop -- Positively Picturesque

PPHop-HeaderPic

Hello Stampers and Papercrafters!  Welcome to the July A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop!!  I'm so glad you are here.  A number of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from all over the world have joined together to share alternative projects using supplies from the monthly kit.  This month's hop features the wonderful "Positively Picturesque" kit.  I have to say, the stamp set included with this kit has to be one of my Paper Pumpkin favorites.  Lots of versatility with the variety of sentiments, plus, the dainty images make any creation picture perfect! I'm super excited to share my altered kit project with you...let's take a gander.

PPThingHopJuly2017-Lori-DSC05449

This month's kit came with the exact amount of supplies to create 2 cards each of 4 designs.  So, instead of stealing from the main supplies to create my altered project, I chose to focus on a new creation using the leftover washi tape and the stamp set with 14 images.  **squeal**  That's a lot of stamps for a monthly kit...stamp images that you can use over and over and over, again.

The coordinating colors in the kit are Tranquil Tide, Powder Pink, Lemon Lime Twist and Soft Sky.  The cardbase is Powder Pink with a Tranquil Tide matte layer that was embossed using the Pinewood Planks Dynamic Textured Embossing folder.  The 1/2" Washi Tape covers a couple scrap pieces of 1/2" Whisper White cardstock.  Banner cut the ends and adorned with a Linen Thread bow.

PPThingBlogHop-July2017Flat-Lori-DSC05447

The focal point consisting of the Lemon Lime Twist Pretty Label Punch topped with a Powder Pink scallop die cut.  Pop this onto a section of Delicate White Doily using Dimensionals and adhere to the card front.  Top it with the simple sentiment inked with Tranquil Tide Classic Ink.

To get more inspiration for alternative ideas creating with the July Paper Pumpkin kit, make sure you visit the other A Paper Pumpkin Thing Group members' blogs to see what projects they have to share.  I'll be on your heals to soak in the new ideas and inspiration.  Thanks for stopping by....stop back again real soon.

At this time, you are now ready to hop on over to Tina Rackley Riddle’s blog.  You won't want to miss traveling on as I know that she will have something adorable to share with you.  If you prefer to work your way backwards, you can jump back to Sara Levin's blog.  Either way, be sure to work your way through all of the blogs so you don’t miss a thing!

Creative Inking Blog Hop -- Two-Step Stamping with Lovely Friends!!

CreativeInking-HeaderImage

Hello, my lovely stamping and crafter friends!  Welcome to July's Creative Inking Blog Hop!!  This month we are featuring cards/projects that involve a 'two-step stamping' process.  What the heck is that, right?  This technique involves more than one stamped image to demonstrate contrast in colors that are stamped in layers over top of each other.  One image is usually a solid/base layer; and the 2nd image will be more highlights, solid fills or an overlay to adjoin the image together.  The end result is really cool!

You may be starting from here at my blog, Lori Mueller - Stampin' Dreams, or you may have come here from the very talented Sandy Mott's blog. Please be sure to click the 'Next' button (found below) to move along the Creative Inking blog hop. If you get off track at any time, the full line up below will help you move along from blog to blog.

CreativeInkingHop-2StepStampLovelyFriends-Lori-DSC05427

I have been anxious to use a new stamp set I ordered called "Lovely Friends" for my project share.  PLUS, it comes bundled with the coordinating Lovely Laurel Thinlits Dies at a 10% savings.  YEAH!! Both of these items can be viewed in my product list illustrated at the bottom of this post.  I just love this larger-than-life sentiment because it really strikes an emotional cord for me.  I have a few very dear friends that I haven't done well keeping in touch with over the last year, so they definitely need to know just how much they mean to me.

Creative Tips:

  • In keeping a clean and simple card layout and incorporate the two-step stamping technique, the large sentiment was inked with Basic Black Archival ink and stamped onto a layer of Vellum Cardstock.  Due to the less porous texture of the vellum, set it aside for an extra few minutes to dry.  Or, you can use the Heat Tool on the lowest setting to dry.
  • The two-step technique involves the 2 large flower images in the stamp set.  The colors are Dapper Denim, Crushed Curry, Lemon Lime Twist and Berry Burst.  The solid (lighter) color was done as a 2nd rendition stamping (ink image, stamp off onto scrap paper, then stamp onto Very Vanilla cardstock).  The accent layer image was inked and stamped over top of the first image.  Putting the 2 stamped images together generates fun depth and brings this flower to life.

CreativeInkingHop-2StepStampLovelyFriendsFlowers-Lori-DSC05435

  • Using the coordinating Framelit, die cut each flower and arrange and glue directly to the front of the card base.

CreativeInkingHop-2StepStampLovelyFriendsOpen-Lori-DSC05435

  • Adhere the Vellum/sentiment layer with a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive across the top and set in place on the card front.  This allows the subtleness of the color to come through, but not steal the focal point of the sentiment.

CreativeInkingHop-2StepStampLovelyFriendsFlat-Lori-DSC05433

  • The Lemon Lime Twist 1/4" Ombre Ribbon is a perfect coordinating accent...nice thin ribbon that is lovely to tie into knots and bows.  Plus, because the Vellum is see thru, the ribbon helps hide the visual of the Tear & Tape Adhesive underneath.
  • The mini sequences come from the new spools of Mini Sequin Trim (Gold, Silver and Black) and is perfect for a dainty touch of bling.
    .

Don't forget!  If you don't have any of the products I used, you'll want to make sure to submit your order through my online store.  I hope you will give it a try.

So with one click you can be on your way to soak in some more Two-Step Stamping.  Your next stop on the hop is Dena Rekow's blog...she always has something super adorable to share.
