Good morning stampers and paper crafters! Welcome to my stop on the One Stamp At a Time (OSAT) Design Team Blog Hop for the month of October! This months theme is anything Fall and Halloween. Because I have been on an everything Halloween the last several weeks, I decided to change things up a bit and strive for a mixture of the two...Falloween. Teehehe
This may be your first stop on the hop, or you may have hopped over here from my dear friend Maria Willis's blog. Either way, in order to view all of the blog participants sharing their wonderful craftiness, click on the "NEXT" button at the bottom of each blogger's post.
OMGosh!!! I am so in love with the Pinewood Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder! Just like the Spooky Cat stamp set and Cat Punch, this Pinewood texture is perfect for Fall-ish type cards. It would be perfect for scrapbook pages, too!
The narrow strips are scraps of Watercolor Paper that I could not bare to toss into File #13 (aka...trash can). Before adhering the strips to a piece of Garden Green cardstock, I put the strips tightly against each other so that I could give them a watercolor wash of Lemon Lime Twist, Daffodil Delight and Peek-a-boo Peach. Then I dry embossed all the strips using the Big Shot and the Pinewood Embossing Folder. Lastly, I sponged all edges of each watercolor strip with Soft Suede classic ink to give it a backyard board-on-board fenced-type background look. LOVE-Love-love!!
Next, my Big Shot got a little workout with the Stitched Circle Framelit and a pumpkin from the Patterned Pumpkins Thinlits Dies set. The leaves were stamped with Garden Green Classic ink onto Garden Green cardstock (aka...Tone-on-tone stamping technique). No fussy cutting necessary because Stampin' Up! has a leaf punch for that! **squeal** Add a strip of Burlap Ribbon, Metallic Gold Thread and some Glitter Enamel Dots to the picture and you've got yourself a beautiful Fall or subtle Halloween card.
Coordinating Patterned Pumpkins Tag
I love making coordinating gift tags! I had a scrap piece of 2" x 3-3/4" Watercolor Paper, so I gave it the similar wash of colors used for the card, punched the top with the Scalloped punch, embossed with the Pinewood Embossing Folder, and decorated it with a Patterned Pumpkin set on top of a 2-1/2" Gold Foil punched circle and more leaves. To tone down the Gold Foil, I sponged the edges of the pumpkin pieces with Soft Suede and glued them back into their spaces. Super adorable!
At this time, you are now ready to hop on over to Melissa Davies’s blog. You won't want to miss traveling on as I know that she will have something adorable to share with you. If you prefer to work your way backwards, you can jump back to Maria Willis's blog. Either way, be sure to work your way through all of the blogs so you don’t miss a thing!
