A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop -- Back in Plaid November Kit

Hello and welcome Stampers and Papercrafters!  It's the last day of November (eeek!), which means that it's time for A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop!!  A number of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from all over the world have joined together to share alternative projects using supplies from the monthly kit.  I'm super excited that you have stopped by to check out my altered creation for today.

This month's hop features the fun and playful "Back in Plaid" kit.  The stamp set includes several sentiments with a fun and whimsical font.  Every box is filled with 10 muslin stockings with a buffalo checked cuff and a boat load of product supplies to create the most adorable stockings that are ready to be filled with your favorite candies, beautiful jewelry, or make it a quick and easy gift card holder.  The imagination and uses are endless!

Once I saw what this month's kit included, there was no way that I could bring myself to alter those adorable stockings!  Mine are going to make the best little gift holders of candy-n-cash for the loved ones on my list.  Soooo, what was I to do for an altered project using the supplies in the kit?  Well, there is always the stamp set and ink left over after each kits supplies are depleted, so a card it is!

The color combination for this kit is focused on Old Olive, Dapper Denim and Cherry Cobbler, so that's what I used for my card.  I kinda like them together...what do you think?  Is this a color combination you would try?

I decided to create a shaker card, which is what the October kit was all about.  I had purchased the Winter Wonder Textured Embossing Folder a while back, but have never found the project to use it.  Well, this was it...I embossed a piece of Window Sheet after it was attached to the back of the Dapper Denim panel so that the extensions of the Winter Wonder snowflake would emboss onto the cardstock.  I had leftover sequins from the October kit to use, too.

What do you think?  Super cute, right?!!  I hope you think so...and, that you'll run and make one for yourself.  That would really make my day.  If you do, please share with me when you get a chance.

To get more inspiration for alternative ideas creating with the November Paper Pumpkin kit, make sure you visit the other A Paper Pumpkin Thing Group members' blogs to see what projects they have to share.  I'll be on your heals to soak in the new ideas and inspiration.  Thanks for stopping by....stop back again real soon.

At this time, you are now ready to hop on over to Monika Davis’s blog.  You won't want to miss traveling on as I know that she will have something adorable to share with you.  If you prefer to work your way backwards, you can jump back to Megan Thompson's blog.  Either way, be sure to work your way through all of the blogs so you don’t miss a thing!

How do I know if Paper Pumpkin is right for me?

If you can answer "Yes" to any of these questions, then Paper Pumpkin is the perfect solution for you!

  • I want a creative escape but I don’t have a lot of time.
  • I’m not sure I’m ready to commit to papercrafting, but I want to try it.
  • I love to create but I don’t always feel creative.
  • I need some fresh project ideas.
  • How can I craft when I don’t have all the “crafting stuff” I need?

Go ahead....give it a 3-month, 6-month or 12-month test drive and get in on all the FUN!!  If you end up not enjoying it (GASP!!), you can cancel your subscription.  But, I'm sure you will be very happy and excited to see what the next month will bring you.  Trust me!  I've been a subscriber for over 3 years and I get anxious to receive my little orange box in the mail near the middle of each month.  **squeal**
