A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop -- December 2017 Flora & Flutter

Hello and welcome Stampers and Papercrafters!  Well, the time has come...the door to the year of 2017 is almost closed, but not before we have our last A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop!!  A number of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from all over the world have joined together to share alternative projects using supplies from the December monthly kit.  I'm always super excited to dig into my kit each month because the projects are always a surprise...PLUS, it makes me soooo happy that you have stopped by to check out my altered creation for today. YAY!!

PPHop-HeaderPic

This month's hop features a botanical feel called the "Flora & Flutter" kit.  The stamp set includes five different sentiments and four garden-ey images...in other words, a butterfly, a flower, a fern and a sprig image.  Every box is filled with everything you need to create 8 greeting cards...even comes with the envelopes!

PaperPumpkin-December2017

I am a huge fan of 'non-traditional' sized cards....4" x 4" cards are always FUN, and, they will still fit in an A2-sized envelope!

One of the card designs was a floral laser cut design that would have a piece of Dazzling Diamonds paper adhered behind it.  The first thing that came to mind was "oooh! this could be a 'stencil-type' image".  Sooo, that's what I went with...using it as a stencil.

PP-Dec2017-FloraFlutterStencil-Lori-DSC06038

I placed it over top a piece of Vellum cardstock and covered the stencil with VersaMark ink.  Once the area was inked up...out came the Copper powder...I love our Copper Embossing powder and how smooth it melts up.

I love the result!  Layering this piece over top a Peekaboo Peach scallop circle was the element to adding a bit of softness to the large embossed are.  The Lemon Lime Twist leaves were cut from one of the supply pieces and tucked behind the focal panel.  The final touch is the coordination of the Berry Burst Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon and the stamped butterfly and Flora and Flutter sentiment.

What do you think?  I was striving for elegant, which is a bit different from botanical.  :)  If you haven't done any heat embossing lately, you need to pull out that Heat Tool and have some fun.  I'd love to have you share your creations with me.

To get more inspiration for alternative ideas creating with the December Paper Pumpkin kit, make sure you visit the other A Paper Pumpkin Thing Group members' blogs to see what projects they have to share.  I'll be on your heals to soak in the new ideas and inspiration.  Thanks for stopping by....stop back again real soon.

Alaska Achievers Blog Hop December 2017 -- Picture Perfect Birthday

Hello Stampers and friends!!  How was your Christmas holiday?  I hope everyone was able to enjoy a little bit of peace and joy.  I was able to relax a bit, but always had stamping on my mind.  The excitement to share my creation for the Alaskan Achievers blog hop was running through my mind...a lot! I love joining the hop with other Stampin' Up!® Demonstrators from all around the world.  This particular group has achieved the prestigious Stampin' Up! Incentive trip to go on the Alaskan Cruise next July!  **squeal**

AlaskaAchieversBlogHop-Header

Each month, we will be hopping together to show you ideas and designs using current Stampin' Up!® products from any of the current catalogs. I am native to Nebraska (U.S.), and I would love to help you, inspire you and answer any questions that help spark that creative vibe going through your veins.  And, no, you don't have to be creative to stamp!!  True statement!

Here is the card that I designed for our hop today!

PictPerfBday-SequinPocket-Lori-DSC06018

One of my favorite perks as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator is the opportunity to buy from the new upcoming catalogs before the catalogs actually go live for the general public.  I have a mix of products from each of the Occasions catalog and the Sale-A-Bration catalog in this creation...another fun aspect of creativity...doing it 'my way'!  Beware!  There is a lot of Silver goin' on with this creation...shiny and new!!

PictPerfBday-SequinPocketFlat-Lori-DSC06021

The sentiment comes from the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set (available in the Occasions catalog), but the Designer Series Paper (Bubble & Fizz) you can earn for free with a $50 purchase during the best time of the year....Sale-A-Bration!  There are 3 other new products featured, as well...both from the Occasions catalog.  They are the Silver Embossing Paste, Silver Baker's Twine, and the Scattered Sequins Dynamic Texture Impressions Embossing Folder.

I am sooo thankful for each and everyone you!

Again, thank you--thank you--thank you!  I greatly appreciate you stopping by to visit me.  I love the visits; and it warms my heart to read your thoughts you share with each comment.  If you haven't already, please share and invite your friends to stop by.  Oh, and subscribe to my blog so that you don't miss a single post.  I can't express how very passionate I am to share my love for papercrafting with you.

Creative Inking Blog Hop -- Occasion & Sale-A-Bration Catalogs Sneak Peeks!!

Hello my stamper and crafter friends!  Thank you so much for stopping to visit me. It's hump day...well, it's really more exciting to say that our Creative Inking designers have lots to share with you.  It's time for our regularly scheduled December blog hop!!  I am *really* excited to stamp and share during this time of year for TWO reasons:  1.  I love creating handmade cards and treat packages to give to friends, co-workers, and family during the Christmas season, and, 2.  the new Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catalogs are in my hands and I got to pre-order and play with the new products before January!  *double-squeal*

This card was created with our oldest daughter, Sydney, in mind.  This last Friday, my husband and our immediate family were honored and blessed to witness her graduation ceremony from Nursing school.  She is strong-willed, dedicated, focused, and blessed with so many wonderfully kind attributes that will benefit her to be an amazing nurse to whomever needs her assistance. Sydney is a clean and simple young lady with a little bit of her Momma's country spunk.  Yep!  I'm that proud Momma!

Creative Tips:

  • The majority of the products of this fabulous creation are going to be available for purchase from the upcoming Occasions catalog starting January 3rd.  Unlike the products Suites introduced in the catalog, I did a little mix-n-match of products...just because I like to do that, I guess.  teehehe.  The sentiment comes from the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set, but the Designer Series Paper is a specialty paper called "Sweet Soiree".

CreativeInkingHop-PicPerfBday-OccasSABFlat-Lori-DSC05994

  • Do you see all of the shine outlining the flowers on the designer paper?  YUM!  That was my starting point to selecting a Silver Foil Scallop Circle to showcase the sentiment layer.  Another piece that included some silver was the Vellum vine layered onto the Berry Burst half Stitched Circle.  This comes from the Sweet Soiree Embellishment Kit...and it's loaded with shiny accents and embellishments for adorning your projects.
  • To top it off...with more Silver, of course...is the new Silver Baker's Twine!  Wrap it around the scalloped/stitched circle focal layer a couple of times and tie if off into a bow, and you've got yourself a quick, easy and fun Congratulatory card.  Hard to believe this sentiment came from "birthday" stamp set, huh?!!

Here are a few pics of my sweet and amazing baby girl!!  Yep!  She's my first born AND still my baby girl!  LOVE!!

Proud, proud moment!!  Thank you for letting me share her special day with you!

It is always my passion to inspire you with my papercrafting projects.  I hope I have peaked your excitement to get your hands on the new Occasions catalog products that I have shared with you.  They will be available for purchase on January 3, 2018, but if you can't wait that long, you can join my Stampin' Up! family and put them in your Starter Kit.  How exciting is that?!!   I am always very, very appreciative of your shopping excursion through my online store, too.

So with one click you can be on your way to soak in some more ideas showcasing the new products that we have had fun playing with in our craft havens.  Your next stop on the hop will not disappoint...Dena Rekow...she always has something super cute and fun to share.
