A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop -- Broadway Star

Hello and welcome Stampers and Papercrafters!  It is near the end of June and we are here for another fun and exciting A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop!!   A number of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from all over the world have joined together to share alternative projects using supplies from the June monthly kit named "Broadway Stars".  I had a ton of fun creating my altered kit projects and I can't wait to show them off to you...let's go take a peek!

PPHop-HeaderPic

This months kit is designed for any sort of celebration...birthday, congratulations, etc.  PLUS, it is designed to coordinate with the Broadway Bound Suite...products can be found in the Annual catalog (page 68-69).  Super exciting!!

June2018-BroadwayStar-header

For my creation, I did a combination of products from the paper pumpkin kit and the Boradway Bound Suite (Broadway Bound Specialty Designer Series Paper and cardstock pack and the Broadway Lights Framelits Dies).

PP-June2018-BroadwayStarFront-Lori-DSC06696

I took one of the cardbases from the kit and cut the front base to fit the Basic Black cardbase front.  I used the remain paper pumpkin cardbase to add a strip to the inside bottom.

PP-June2018-BroadwayStarOpen-Lori-DSC06697

The die cut "Hooray" is a sticker, but I wanted it to pop, so I added dimensionals and popped it up on a Lovely Lipstick Broadway die cut.  The Black and Gold candles paper is from the Broadway Bound Specialty Designer Series paper...I thought it really brought all of the gold elements together.

PP-June2018-BroadwayStar-25Prop-Lori-DSC06703

The gold numbers (25) were hand cut with Paper Snips from one of the Broadway Bound Specialty Designer Series Paper patterns.  I popped it up on one of the cake die cuts that came with the Broadway Star kit...then, popped that up with dimensionals to put in place on the inside.

It has been a long time since I've created a Pop-up card, and I'm really happy with how it turned out.  This will be perfect for our daughter...bold, bright, and perfect for her to celebrate a quarter of a century.  :)

Upcycled Gift Jar

It gets more and more difficult to buy for my daughters as they are at the age that they buy for themselves...what they want and when they want it.  HA!!  So, I'm always on the hunt for a new way to present them with moolah as a present!  Teehehe

Gotta love old spice jars that have a bit of character  :)  I'm really pleased with how these projects came together...super cute and FUN!

Creative Inking Blog Hop -- New Stampin' Up! Catalog Accessories!!

Hello stamper and crafter friends! Welcome to my crafty spot on the Creative Inking Blog Hop for the month of June! This months theme is the chance to create and showcase some new accessories available in the new Stampin' Up! catalog!! **squeal** l can't wait to share my creation with you!  :)

If you get off track at any time, the full line up below will help you move along from blog to blog.

ColorCombo-MangoMelodyCloudCollage
Sooo, you may be wondering about my color combination choice.  All 3 are now part of the Brights color family; and I just love how bright and fun they can make a project.  Plus, don't they make your mouth water for some Laffy Taffy? Say, what???  That's how I came up with the idea.  I was walking by the candy aisle and there was a bag of them (I failed to take a picture...dang!) that had "create your next card with these colors" written all over it.  Do you ever run across hidden messages like that?  LOL

  • The focal point is made up of the brand new Stitched Labels Framelits.  I am so in love with this die...very elegant to be included on a card, but can definitely stand on its own as a tag, as well.  LOTS of possibilities.

OSATHop-StitchedLabels-Lori-DSC06637

  • The matted Mango Melody layer has some corner texturing using the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  This is my new FAVORITE thing to do with my cards.  I think it adds a fun sumthin-sumthin to an area that has a huge space of nothin'...and, it helps bring balance to the whole layout.

  OSATHop-StitchedLabelsFlat-Lori-DSC06642

  • The sentiment comes from the Detailed With Love stamp set, inked with Jet Black StazOn and stamped onto a piece of Shimmery White cardstock.  Die cut using the Layering Ovals Framelits and layered onto a piece of Vellum cardstock.  Oh, and you can't forget the bling!  The Clear Rhinestones compliment the Silver Embossing Paste, plus, it helped fill the void where the Granny Apple Green corners were punched using the 1/2" Circle Punch.

OSATHop-StitchedLabels-Paste-Lori-DSC06643

  • To add elegance to the bright colors, I chose one of my favorite templates from the Pattern Party Decorative Masks and sparingly spread some Silver Embossing Paste across the front using a Palette Knife...no rhyme or reason to the angle.  TIP:  You'll want to wash the template and spatula with warm soapy water as soon as you are done.  During this time, the paste will most likely be dry on your cardstock, too.  :)

OSATHop-StitchedLabelsFront-Lori-DSC06633

Sooo, did you make it through without having to grab a pair of sunglasses?  It's really striking and vibrant, I think.  I'm certain that the person receiving this creation will definitely have one bright smile on their face.  I hope you will give this color combination a whirl.  I'm sure your mouth will water just playing with these colors.  haha!

OSAT Blog Hop — Lay It Out with Flowers

OSATBlogHop-2018Header

Good morning stampers and paper crafters!  Welcome to my blog for the June One Stamp At a Time (OSAT) Design Team Blog Hop!  We are all pulling a fast one on you this month when we share our creations using the theme "Lay It Out".  Eeek!  This meant that we create a SCRAPBOOK page! Oh-my-golly...I haven't made a page in a very loooong time.  Sooo, what's the recommendation for a long hibernation?  I found the perfect page to CASE (Copy And Share Everything) from the new Annual Stampin' Up! catalog.  WHEW! Let's see how I did!

This may be your first stop on the hop, or you may have hopped over here from the previous OSAT designer. Either way, in order to view all of the blog participants sharing their wonderful craftiness, click on the next person in line within the list of blogger's posted at the end.

OSATHop-LayItOut-Lori-1-DSC06623

My layout comes from the Memories & More section of the catalog that showcases the wonderful card pack called "Delightfully Detailed"  The page measures 6" x 8" so that it fits in one of the Memories & More pockets.  I also did something that was REALLY difficult for me...I cut into and across all of those lovely laser-cut flowers that is part of the Delightfully Detailed Specialty Designer Series Paper.  I thought I was going to faint!  Seriously!!

OSATHop-LayItOutFlowers-Lori-DSC06627

Not only did I cut into the full sheet, but I also cut out individual laser-cut pieces, too.  It was fun to dress up the matte layer for the picture with a few more flowers.  LOVE!!

There was a fun twist with this creation that left me cursing from one side of my mouth, and chuckling out the other side.  GEESH!!  I did some dying of the Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon using the Blackberry Bliss reinker...a really cool technique that allows me to carry the color coordination through my project.  What I forgot (and was in a hurry) was just how long it takes for Tulle to dry.  Take a closer peek at the picture...can you see what situation I'm talking about?  Let's just say that no matter how much I washed my fingers...that Blackberry Bliss was going to transfer to my project no matter what!  ugh!

At this time, you are now ready to hop on over to the next OSAT designers blog.  You won't want to miss traveling on as I know they will have something fun and exciting to share with you.  If you prefer to work your way backwards, you can click your way through the blog list found below.  Either way, be sure to work your way through all of the blogs so you don’t miss a thing!
