A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop — Blissful Blooms

Hello and welcome Stampers and Papercrafters to another fun and exciting A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop!! A number of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from all over the world have joined together to share alternative projects using supplies from the August monthly kit named "Blissful Blooms". I really surprised myself creating alternate projects with the August kit...everything just seemed to come together super easy, and that doesn't always happen for me. Many crafting sessions find me pondering on my creations for an undisclosed amount of time. haha! I had a ton of fun creating my altered kit projects and I can't wait to show them off to you...let's go take a peek!

This months kit is very elegant and is designed for all occasions...sympathy, thinking of you, congratulations, etc. Super exciting!!

For my creation, I did a combination of products from the paper pumpkin kit and coordinating colors of cardstock and classic inks (Old Olive, Blackberry Bliss and Flirty Flamingo).

This kit came with small-type tags, but I was needing a sympathy card and really wanted the sentiment to stand out and make a statement. The Old Olive cardstock strip was run through the Big Shot using the new Corrugated Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing folder. I was looking for texture and something solid to help the matted focal point stand out a bit from the floral cardbase.

The Flirty Flamingo & Silver Baker's Twine was my main factor determining the large scalloped Oval die cut from Silver Foil paper. The rest of the card front helped me bring in little bits of the other colors...Blackberry Bliss accenting the Shimmery White Oval die cut and the Old Olive and Flirty Flamingo ink colors for the sentiment. I love how Stampin' Up! makes it sooo easy for me to coordinate the color palettes to various papers, inks, and embellishments.

So, what do you think? I love the sentiment...and, I love the different color tones of the floral card front. My hope is that it will bring a warm smile to my friends face who is dealing with a tragic loss of a dear loved one.

Floral Cardbase Turns into Gift Box

Now to flip to an exciting occasion, I have a few of my team members who have recently hit a couple of different milestones. I love to recognize them with little gifts of appreciation and gratitude that they have chosen me to be their team leader.

Look how beautiful this little box turned out...so elegant! The lid comes from the card base front...the box bottom was made using the back of the card base. How cool is that?!!

Little gift boxes are always a big hit with mini York Peppermint Patties! :) I'm really pleased with how these projects came together...super easy, elegant and FUN!

Creative Inking Blog Hop — Sketch Challenge with Color Your Season

Hello stamper and crafter friends! Welcome to my crafty spot on the Creative Inking Blog Hop for the month of August! This months theme is geared around a pre-determined card sketch. I am super excited to create from a sketch because that takes most of the designing lull out of my busy week. l can't wait to share my creation with you! :)

Here is what the card sketch looks like...pretty clean and simple, right?!! I thought so, too!

It has been a while since I have played with the Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper, I thought it was perfect for the help I needed. You see, this large pack of 12" x 12" designer series paper is packed full of coordinating colors to mix-n-match...a definite helpful starting tool for the creative mind that might be in a creative rut. So, I picked on the colors of Blackberry Bliss, So Saffron, Mint Macaron, and Shimmery White cardstocks. Oh, so pretty!!

Next up was choosing what stamp set I needed for the special occasion that I had in mind. And, look-ey there! I couldn't pass up the Blended Seasons stamp set and coordinating Stitched Seasons Framelits...especially, since this bundle is only available during the month of August. Plus, among all of the images (12 to be exact), there is an image of a bell that can be used for any occasion...in my case, I needed it to be wedding bells. Don't forget, you can purchase this bundle for a 10% savings.

Now, you may be asking "how did she make that skinny Blackberry Bliss border for the Shimmery White Stitched Frame layer?" Well, I die cut two of the same size Stitched Framelits from Blackberry Bliss, cut each one in half (1 cut vertical...the 2nd cut horizontal), then adhered each half to fit and border the Shimmery White framelit layer. I needed the matted layer to be skinnier than the next sized Stitched Framelits die, and this was the easiest way that gave me the result I was needing. **squeal**

Did you notice the the embossed texture of the So Saffron layer? OMGosh!! The amazing Subtle Dynamic Textured Embossing folder left that mark! Isn't it perfect for this layout? I also love dimension...especially with a wedding card. The Stitched Framelits layer is popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals, as well as, the wedding bells, sentiment strip (which comes from the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set), and the faux Glimmer Enamel Dot (made from a small punched circle using the Gingerbread punch and coloring with Wink of Stella). Sooo, so pretty! Creating wedding cards makes me so happy....after all, it is a happy occasion. :)

OSAT Blog Hop — End of Summer Tic Tac Toe

Hello-Hello stampers and paper crafters! Welcome to my blog! I'm so excited for you to hop along the August One Stamp At a Time (OSAT) Design Team Blog Hop! This may be your first stop on the hop, or you may have hopped over here from the previous OSAT designer. This month's theme is "End of Summer Tic Tac Toe". When was the last time you played a good game of Tic Tac Toe? I remember playing this game with my siblings during long car rides...anything to pass the time away. Haha! This is a special edition of the game in the idea that instead of putting X's and O's in the spot, the spots are already noted with an embellishment. We, as the crafter, had to select a row, column, or diagonal to feature in our creations.

I chose to take the winning path of Ribbon–DSP–Flowers...well, I substituted Leaves, instead of Flowers. Ooops!

The Nature's Poem Designer Series paper really had a good mix of patterns that complimented the layout with the subtle hatch and striped patterns matted on Blackberry Bliss cardstock pieces.

The sentiment images come from the Blended Seasons stamp set...only available during the month of August. OR, while supplies last. The oval layers rest upon a piece of 1/4" Copper Trim that I stretched out to give a little more balance and a different textured appearance.

I am loving everything about the Blended Seasons stamp set! So versatile and renders itself for clean and non-holiday type cards. Gorgeous!!

State Sales Tax-Free Holiday — Stock up on Stampin' Up! Products and SAVE!

If you love holidays—and don’t love taxes—I have some great news for you! I am reaching out to you because I received word from Stampin' Up! that a "Free State Sales Tax Holiday" is coming up and that your state of residence is participating again this year during the month of August. YEAH!! This so exciting!

Here is the description of the program:

"Ten U.S. states will have sales tax holidays for school supplies over the next several weeks. The dates for each state’s sales tax holiday will vary; the definition of “school supplies” will also vary from state to state. Fortunately, a selection of Stampin’ Up! products qualify as school supplies and will be tax-free during each state’s sales tax holiday period. To find out which states are participating—and which products will be tax-free for each state—download this Sales Tax Holiday PDF.

You must place your order with Stampin’ Up! during the tax holiday period in order to receive these items tax-free (midnight on the first day to 11:59 PM (MT) on the last day of the tax holiday).

Keep in mind that this is a state sales tax holiday and may not apply to additional county, city, and special jurisdiction taxes."

I have attached the Sales Tax Holiday PDF so you can check the list to see what Stampin' Up! products qualify for State Tax-FREE Holiday for the State you live in.

For example, it looks like Texas is participating in this program August 10-12, 2018; and you can order up to $100 worth of each item. For example, if you wanted to maximize and stock up on Multipurpose Liquid Glue at the price of $4.00 per bottle, you would be able to order 25 bottles free of sales tax. WOOT! Or, if you like fun embellishments to organize your office (like our new 2018-2019 In Color Mini Binder Clips...25/pk: 5 each of 5 colors) at $7.50 per package, you could order 13 packages...all free of state sales tax. {big grin}

Take a look at the list, mark your calendar and have your Shopping List ready to enter your order through my online store. If you have family and friends who are cardmakers, scrapbookers, crafters, have their own business, working in an office...let them know. There are some great items on the list that would be perfect for stocking stuffers, too. I would recommend entering your order closer to first day of your Tax-FREE Sales date versus towards the end of the Tax-FREE Sales date. With the large number of States participating, you never know what item might be super popular.

An email address is required to participate; Bonus Days coupon codes can be delivered only via email.
If a participant earns multiple codes from a single order, they will receive one email with multiple codes. If they earn multiple codes from multiple orders, they will receive separate emails for each code earned.
All order types qualify for this promotion.
Orders that are started before the promotion begins will not go toward earning coupon codes.

There is no limit to the number of coupon codes participants can earn per order or throughout the duration of the Bonus Days earning period.
There is no limit to the number of coupon codes participants can use on an order during redemption.
