A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop — Hugs from Shelli Alternatives

Hello Stampers and Papercrafters!  and, welcome to our monthly A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop!!   My name is Lori Mueller and I'm part of a team of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from all over the world that have joined together to share alternative projects using supplies from the May Paper Pumpkin kit.PPHop-HeaderGraphicThis month's kit is inspired by Stampin' Up!'s Co-Founder, Shelli Gardner!  **squeal**   I have always admired her stamping style because it is right up my alley...country, vintage, and rustic...all piled into one little box.  The name of this kit is very fitting, too..."Hugs from Shelli" because she is such a sweet, genuine woman.  I was sooo excited to see the stamp set and start playing with the new images.

May2019-PPCoverPic

Every month, the kits include enough supplies to create the designed projects. This month was no different...all subscribers get to create 12 cards (3 each of 4 designs) that come with coordinating envelopes that are lined with designer paper.  The whole ensemble is so down-to-earth using a combination of colors that mix well...Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Petal Pink, Pool Party, Pretty Peacock, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla.

PPHop-HugsShelliThankYouRt-Lori-DSC09884
I'm pretty sure the floral cardbase is my favorite pattern of the bunch, so I cut it down to help me dress up a 4" x 4" Crumb Cake cardbase.  The original cards are 3-1/2" x 5", so I cut the card base in half at the 3-1/2" score line.  (HINT:  don't toss the back part of the card, we'll use it in a bit).  The floral piece was trimmed from 5" to 3-5/8".

May2019-PPSupplyPic

Look at all of those supplies you get with this kit!  DANG!!  You can't beat a $20 kit in the mail when you get a full set of stamps, ink and two types of adhesives!

PPHop-HugsShelliThankYou-Lori-DSC09882

The ink spot included in the kit is Early Espresso, so I couldn't help myself but add a little Copper Foil trim using the Flourish Thinlits Dies.  To compliment the foil trim, the sentiment was inked with VersaMark onto Old Olive and heat set with the Heat Tool.  I added a fun trick with the sentiment inked with Early Espresso onto Petal Pink cardstock...add the strip to the Old Olive piece and die cut both sentiments together using the Stitched Nested Labels Dies.  It helps add a little contrast to the sentiment message.

Hugs from Shelli "Hello" Card

Since I cut one of the card bases in half, it left me with the back section of the card (plain Very Vanilla) to design another card.  We'll get a 2-for-1 set of cards with one card base!  YAY!  The floral print is the leftover from cutting down the front part of the cardbase...so, technically, you could say this card is filled with leftovers.

PPHop-HugsShelli-HelloCard-Lori-DSC09874

FUN TIP: Before tossing the negative to any edgelits-type of die cut, check to see if it could fit with another project.  That's what I did with the Copper Foil scalloped flourish die...fits perfect all lined up with the floral print, don't you think?!!

PPHop-HugsShelli-HelloCardFlat-Lori-DSC09880

The sentiment was inked with VersaMark, stamped directly on the Very Vanilla layer, covered with Copper Embossing powder and set with the Heat Tool.  I used one of the new Stitched Nested Labels Dies to cut out the sentiment and then pop it up using Stampin' Dimensionals to set back in place.

To get more inspiration for alternative ideas creating with the March Paper Pumpkin kit, make sure you visit the other A Paper Pumpkin Thing Group members' blogs to see what projects they have created to share with you.  I'll be on your heals to soak in the new ideas and inspiration.

Stamp It Blog Hop — A Good Man Father's Day

Hello my stamper and craftyfriends!  Welcome to your next stop on the May Stamp It Bog Hop. If you have been traveling along the Stamp It Group Blog Hop, or, if this is your very first stop, I want to thank you so much for stopping to visit me Lori Mueller, Stampin' Dreams. If you like to skip and hop and happen to get off track, the full blog lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.

StampItHop-AGoodManCard-Lori-DSC09935

I'm excited to share with you a mix of wonderful Stampin' Up! products that showcases a sneak peek of a new stamp set (A Good Man) tied with a retiring Designer Series paper (Best Route). The layout is a clean and simple one facilitating the colors of Gray Granite and Night of Navy...both are feature colors in the designer paper pack.

StampItHop-AGoodManFlat-Lori-DSC09943

I love the silhouette image of the man holding a child and couldn't bare to color it, so I brought in color with one of the patterns from the Best Route designer paper pack.  It was just the right amount, I think.

StampItHop-AGoodManLeft-Lori-DSC09937
The sentiment stamped in Night of Navy could really portray a number of occasions to give to the special man in mind...Father's Day, Birthday, or Promotion/Congratulations.

StampItHop-AGoodManFlatClose-Lori-DSC09942

COOL TIP WITH PAPERS — I love to use up scraps.  The matted Gray Granite layer to the image and the thin strip of Night of Navy Best Route designer paper were both in my scrap bag, but ended up complimenting the layout.  To give a finished look to any papers or layers that meet up, think about using a thin strip of cardstock to overlay or, in this case, wrap some Night of Navy Medium Baker's Twine around that section.

If you are needing any stamping supplies and want to know what supplies I have used to create my note cards, I've listed all of the ingredients at the bottom of this post.  Click on any of the items and you'll be directed to my online store and add any of them to your shopping cart.  I am so grateful to your and your support for choosing me as your Stampin' Up! demonstrator.

Creative Inking Blog Hop — Goodbye Forever Delightfully Detailed Suite

Hello stampers and crafty friends! Welcome to my blog; and to the Creative Inking Blog Hop for the month of May!  You may be starting from here at my blog, Lori Mueller - Stampin' Dreams, or you may have come here from the very talented Colleen Vassos' blog. Please be sure to click the 'Next' button (found below) to move along the Creative Inking blog hop.

CreativeInking-HeaderImage

The month of May is a mix of emotions when it comes to changing out the current Annual Stampin' Up! catalog with a new one.  Yes, it is sad to see our favorite products retiring and never available to purchase and play with, buuut, all those feelings can fade away when new goodies are seen in the new beautiful catalog.

DelightfullyDetailedM&MCards-147038G

One of the many products I'm going to miss rests all within the Delightfully Detailed Suite of products found on pages 38-39 in the current 2018-2019 Annual catalog.  I absolutely fell in love with the color combination of Blackberry Bliss, Grapefruit Grove and Mint Macaron...three beautiful colors that make up all the detail in the variety of goodies available in this suite.  The main product is the Detailed With Love stamp set, but the Delightfully Detailed Memories & More Card Pack is filled with 56 fun cards and accessories to help create easy and elegant greeting cards.  Yes, these are the same cards that help a beginning crafter create quick and easy memory books (even novice scrapbookers can enjoy inserting the fun patterns to any full layout).

CreativeInkingHop-DelightfullyDetailedCard1-Lori-DSC09879

Pair up the Memories & More card pack with the Delightfully Detailed Note Cards & Envelopes and you've got the easiest part of crafting greeting cards all within your inky fingers.  Although, if you wanted, you wouldn't need ink!  GASP!  But, it is very true!  All you would need is a variety of adhesives (Snail, Stampin' Dimensionals, and Multipurpose Liquid Glue), a trimmer and Paper Snips, and you'll a fun-filled day of stocking up your stash of greeting cards that hit the Birthday, Thank You, and Thinking of You categories.

CreativeInkingHop-DelightfullyDetailedCard2-Lori-DSC09882

I do love my ink, though.  The ink pads and Stampin' Write markers are my main inks because nothing is more exciting than to get a handmade card in the mail than to first feel the excitement of a hand stamped envelope to deliver it in.  Even the postal carrier will have a smile on their face...I guarantee it!

CreativeInkingHop-DelightfullyDetailedCard3-Lori-DSC09883

The Delightfully Detailed Note Cards are already set up with a background watercolor wash in a variety of colors.  All you have to do is find one of the 56 cards that you like to adorn with stickers, ribbons/bakers twine, and Faceted Dots.  Now, with this card, I did toss in a little extra for this Thank You by die cutting some ovals that layer each other and coordinate with the Blackberry Bliss card base.

CreativeInkingHop-DelightfullyDetailedCard4-Lori-DSC09887

This card is using a regular Whisper White Thick cardstock base cut 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" that I color washed Blackberry Bliss ink onto the front using my Aqua Painter.  The detailed pattern paper is one of the pieces that came with the Memories & More card pack and I couldn't bear to cut it up.  The fun punched corners was done using the Detailed Trio Punch...happy thing because it is NOT on the retiring list of products!  YAY!!  Buuut, it is bundled with the Detailed With Love stamp set.  If you love the variety of images in that set...and, you love the punch...why not save 10% and get them together?!!  See how fun it is to stamp the envelope?!!  I bet that if you received this fun package in your mailbox that you would start opening it while walking back to the house.  Am I right?

Stamping Around The World — Oh So Eclectic Notepad

AroundTheWorld-CountryBlogHop-Header

Hello, and good morning!  If you've been traveling along the Stamping Around The World Blog Hop, or, if this is your very first stop, I want to thank you so much for stopping to visit me Lori Mueller, Stampin' Dreams. If you like to skip and hop and happen to get off track, the full blog lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.

SATWHop-OhSoEclecticRight-Lori-DSC09858

The next best thing to designing a greeting card for a special someone is to accompany it with a handmade 3D giftable item.  I used the Oh So Eclectic stamp set on the project I did for the May Tutorial bundle, so I wanted to share with you another project using the same stamp set.  The Call Me Clover Post-it Note holder measures 8-1/2" x 3-1/4" and is scored at 3", 3-3/8", 6-1/4" and 6-5/8".  The fun thing is that you can create three holders out of one sheet of cardstock.  All of the colors used on my project originated from the designer paper...gotta love the color coordination between the cardstock, inks and accessories...all under one catalog cover.  :)

SATWHop-OhSoEclecticOpen-Lori-DSC09853

I used a 3x3 post-it note pad to help me determine the size of the holder and where the score lines should be.  The extra flap was decorated to match the front cover, but if you do not like a tri-fold holder, then you would cut your cardstock down from 8-1/2".  Just be sure to leave 1/4" extra in length to ensure your post-it note pad is fully covered.

SATWHop-OhSoEclecticLeft-Lori-DSC09850

Because the pattern in the Happiness Blooms designer paper is so bold, I wanted to use the skeleton smaller flower image as the focal point.  I used the ink pads to carefully ink up the image, but you could easily use Stampin' Write markers, too.  It's hard to see in the picture, but the Calypso Coral cardstock strip was run through the Subtle Dynamic Embossing folder...I love texture.  The Calypso Coral 1/4" Ombre ribbon is so soft and adds a nice subtle touch to the whole ensemble.

The Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog retirement list and Occasions Catalog retirement list has been made public, of which, any products including one of the favorite designer series paper packs – Happiness Blooms.  This includes all cardstock packs, designer series paper, inks, ribbons and embellishments.  All items on the "Last Chance" list are while supplies last and will not be coming back to the new 2019-2020 Annual Catalog.

RETIRING PRODUCTS — This 3D giftable project includes the following soon-to-be retired products (to purchase these items while in stock, click on images posted in Supply List located at end of this post):

  • Oh So Eclectic stamp set
  • Happiness Blooms Designer Series Paper
  • Calypso Coral 1/4" Ombre Ribbon

Would you like to create this 3D giftable project?  If you love designer paper and ribbon accessories (like me), I highly recommend that you stock up before the remaining supply is snapped up by other papercrafters.  You'll find the ingredients listed below, and I've set it up super easy for you to click on any of the images and add to your shopping cart in my online store.  I would be so very grateful to you and your support for shopping with me.  For more beautiful inspiration, you'll want to make sure you hop on over to the next Stamping Around The World members' blogs to see what amazing creations they have to share.  Thank you so much for stopping by....stop back again real soon.

OSAT Blog Hop — Fabulous Floral Essence

Good morning stampers and paper crafters!  Welcome to the One Stamp At a Time (OSAT) Design Team Blog Hop.  My name is Lori Mueller (stampindreams.com) and I'm super excited to have you visiting me today.  This may be your first stop on the hop, or you may have hopped over here from the previous OSAT designer. Either way, in order to view all of the blog participants sharing their wonderful craftiness, click on the next person in line within the list of blogger's posted at the end.  We've got some amazing projects to share with you!

OSATBlogHop-2018Header

This month's theme is "Fabulous Florals", which is a pretty easy one for me because I find it relaxing to create using any number of floral stamp sets, punches or die cuts.

OSATHop-FloralEssenceCard-Lori-DSC09806

I'm not sure if you've heard yet, but we have a brand new Annual catalog debuting in early June, so I thought I would share a sneak peek of a new stamp set called Floral Essence.  There is one image in the set that coordinates with a punch, but I'll wait to share those creations at a later time.  The cardbase is Flirty Flamingo with a Mossy Meadow cardstock layer that has been embossed with the Layered Leaves embossing folder.  This layer was set up to frame the beautiful Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper...center was die cut using the Rectangle Stitched dies.

OSATHop-FloralEssenceFlat-Lori-DSC09816

The Mossy Meadow 'frame' was popped up using Stampin' Dimensionals for the illusion of a picture frame.  The floral images were inked with Calypso Coral and Flirty Flamingo with floral centers inked with Daffodil Delight and a hint of Crumb Cake.  To enhance the beauty of the designer series paper, the sentiment was inked with Early Espresso and stamped directly onto the patterned paper, covered with clear embossing powder and heat set using the Heat Tool.

If you know me, you know that I love vintage-y and rustic elements.  The new 3/8" Scalloped Lace Trim coming out in the new annual catalog is dainty and lovely...adding the perfect little vintage component in the corner.  Every elegant creation needs a little bit of bling, too, so I added some Clear Wink of Stella to the flower centers and scattered some Gingham Gala Adhesive-backed Sequins throughout. I'm very pleased with how this turned out...what do you think?

Happy Anniversary Gift Tag/Insert

After creating the Mossy Meadow frame for the card using the Stitched Rectangle die, it was only fair that the die cut get to play a part to coordinate with the lovely card.  Simply add a piece of the same patterned Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper, stamp the flower image with Calypso Coral ink, and heat emboss the sentiment with Early Espresso ink and clear embossing powder edged with the 3/8" Scalloped Lace Trim as the card.  This could be added to a gift bag or inserted inside a gift package as a thoughtful tag insert.  (NOTE:  The "Happy Anniversary" sentiment comes from the To Have and To Hold stamp set that will retire the end of May 2019).
