Yesterday was the Summer Solstice...aka The Longest Day of the year.  I've been so frantic trying to get all the details fine tuned for my Alzheimer's fundraiser retreat.  It definitely was a long day, but well worth the weekend fun for me and 24 other papercrafters will be enjoying...doing nothing but playing with stamps, paper and ink.

Hello stampers and crafty friends!  I'm so excited to have you join me for the June Creative Inking Blog Hop!  You may be starting from here at my blog, Lori Mueller - Stampin' Dreams, or you may have come here from the very talented Colleen Vassos' blog. Please be sure to click the 'Next' button (found below) to move along the Creative Inking blog hop.

This month's hop is all about sharing which of the amazing Suite of products in the beautiful new catalog is our favorite.  YIKES!!  This was SUPER difficult for me...as is any challenge to come up with ONE favorite from a group of products.  It's like asking me to choose which child I gave birth to is my favorite. HA!  Some days I may have had a definite answer for you...but, we won't go there. :)

So, to help make my decision easy (for myself), I decided to go with the Magnolia Lane Suite.  For the most part, it's the Suite of products that I have been playing with the last few days.  Look at all of those amazing creations that are showcased in the catalog (page 36-37)!

To help get my creative juices flowing, I love to CASE a card pictured in the catalog.  This one uses a mix of the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set, coordinating Magnolia Memory dies, Magnolica Lane Memories & More Card Pack, and Magnolia Lane Large Specialty Memories & More Cards & Envelopes.  Super cool that most of what I needed for this card was already part of the Suite.

The Magnolia Lane Memories & More Card Pack is loaded with 56 cards, plus sticker sheets!  The Vellum layers are already stamped with the images...I just added some color using the Mossy Meadow Light Stampin' Blends on the leaves.  The large Magnolia image was inked in Memento black, stamped onto Whisper White, colored with Stampin' Blends markers and die cut.  The sentiment tag is a sticker, but it's easy to convert it to be a regular tag...simply pounce the back with an Embossing Buddy.  The powder dust will reduce the tacky-ness and allow for Stampin' Dimensionals to do their job.

I love that the Magnolia Lane card bases have a nice Silver Foil engraved on the front.  It can be used to 'frame' one of the smaller Memories & More cards.  All I did to this one was add the sticker that trims the pre-stamped sentiment and a few flower stickers to the lower bottom before adding dimensionals and centering over another card I trimmed down from the pack.

Again, you can make any of the stickers a 'non-sticker' by pouncing the Embossing Buddy all over the stickers backside.  I love the new ribbon pack, too....sooo soft and easy to create bows and knots.  Yummy!

What is "The Longest Day"?  It is the day with the most light — the summer solstice, which is June 21st.  This is a time when thousands of participants from across the world — including my team of papercrafters — fight the darkness of Alzheimer's through an activity, and in our case, stamping cards and creating scrapbook pages.  Together, we use our creativity and passion to raise funds and awareness for the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.

This will be my 4th year participating in The Longest Day to show my love for all those affected by Alzheimer's disease.  This weekend (June 22-23), I am joining others around the world doing what I love, to honor people living with Alzheimer's, their caregivers, and those lost to the disease, while raising funds and awareness to advance the care, support research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.  I am doing this in honor of my dear friends' Mothers; and in memory of Jerry Johnson, a dear Colleague who lost his battle to this disease in 2015.

Each participant receives a goodie bag with a personalized name tag.  Last year, I was obsessed with the butterfly from the Springtime Impressions die set.  I continue to crave using the Stitched Shapes dies on almost every project...in all sorts of colors!  LOL!

Do you recognize the stamp set and tool I used to create this beautiful bouquet?  Yessss!  It is the Daisy Delight stamp set and regular Daisy punch.  I'm mixing up this year's center piece, so stay tuned for it's reveal in a later post.  Sooo excited!

There's always a lot more fun at any event when you provide supplies for a Make-n-Take card project.  My die cutting machine got quite the workout prepping...so did my right arm!  Haha!  I'm very happy the Stitched Labels and Layering Ovals dies were carried over into the new Annual catalog.

I have been fortunate to be awarded a nice donation of baked goods each year from Sam's Club.  When we sit down to papercraft for long periods of time, we need an adrenaline boost loaded with sugar!  Can you tell, I'm a papercrafter?  I even had to put my spin on a 'card layout' for the Bakery staff to decorate this yummy cookie.  They did awesome, don't you think?!!

HOW CAN YOU HELP US END ALZHEIMER'S?

During the 2-day crafting retreat, participants have the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets and slip them into the bucket representing the prize(s) they hope to win!  Prizes range from various Stampin' Up! product bundles, Roskag cart, and the biggest prize is a weekend retreat for a group of friends!  100% of the proceeds from raffle ticket sales go directly to the Alzheimer's Association.  Our team goal is to raise $1,000.

Sooo, "For The Love of Felt", why are sooo many people diagnosed with Alzheimer's?  What is happening to our brains?

Good morning stampers and paper crafters!  Welcome to the One Stamp At a Time (OSAT) Design Team Blog Hop.  My name is Lori Mueller (stampindreams.com) and I'm super excited to have you visiting me today.  This may be your first stop on the hop, or you may have hopped over here from the previous OSAT designer. Either way, in order to view all of the blog participants sharing their wonderful craftiness, click on the next person in line within the list of blogger's posted at the end.  We've got some amazing projects to share with you!

This month's theme is to create "Something Old with Something New"!  YAYAY!!  I knew exactly what I wanted to play with, but the project took a bit before I found just the right piece to put it all together.

It's been quite a while since I've created a Home Decor piece, and I'm totally in love with all of the new 2019-2021 In Colors that were released with the new Stampin' Up! catalog earlier this month.  The little shadow box measures 10" x 4" and is 1-1/8" deep.  The back wall to the shadow box was black with some script, but I'm more in love with the new Woven Threads Designer Series paper and couldn't wait to show them off.  Isn't it just soooo pretty?!! and, it coordinates so well with the daisies!  Each daisy center is adorned with the new Perennial Essence Floral Centers embellishments.  They look very real because of their fuzzy top...a true mimic of a flower center that a butterfly or bumble bee might mistakenly swing on by.  Teehehe

The Daisy Lane stamp set is a new release, as well as, the Medium Daisy Punch.  The something old is the larger Daisy punch and it teams up quite nicely with both new items hot off the rubber mold press. I'm super excited with how this turned out...what do you think?
