Stamp It Blog Hop — Best Dressed Easter Eggs

Hello stampers and crafty friends! I'm so happy you are here.  Welcome to our March Stamp It Blog Hop!  You may be starting from here at my blog, Lori Mueller - Stampin' Dreams, or you may have come here from one of the other Stamp It members blog...either way, make sure to click the blog next in line to move along the hop and not miss a beat.

No photo description available.

In just a couple short weeks, we will be celebrating Easter, which is our creative theme this month!  YUM!  I'm sooo looking forward to a full feast of homemade foods made from several favorite family recipes.  One favorite 'appetizer' that gets gobbled up fast are deviled eggs.  We never seem to make enough...always the first to be devoured!

StampItHop-BestDressedEasterFront-Lori-DSC01258
This card is a make up of leftover pieces on my counter.  To start, the cardbase is a non-traditional size — 3-7/8" x 11, scored at 5-1/2".  To level things out, I added a piece of Highland Heather cardstock measuring 4-1/4" x 4".  I chose to feature the Best Dressed Designer Series paper pack and focus on the subtle spring patterns found in this pack.  The papers are 6" x 6", which tend to include several patterns with smaller designs, and are not all with flowers and make-up images, which is what I was looking for to help with my make-shift Easter eggs.

StampItHop-BestDressedEasterEggs-Lori-DSC01269

After scouring our catalogs to help me to produce 'easter eggs', I pulled out my trusty Balloon Bouquet punch.  Just cut off the balloon tail, flip them upside down and VOILA—my eggs have been hatched!  **squeal**!!  The short grasses were made using a die found in the Golf Club Dies set with Granny Apple Green cardstock.  The sentiment came from the Timeless Tulips stamp set and was heat embossed with White Embossing Powder onto Gorgeous Grape cardstock.

Creative Inking Blog Hop — Springing Ahead with Flowering Foils

Hello stampers and crafty friends!  Today is blog hop day, which means our amazing Creative Inking designers have created an inspiring group of projects themed as "Spring Ahead".  You may be starting from here at my blog, Lori Mueller - Stampin' Dreams, or you may have come here from the very talented Colleen Vassos' blog. Please be sure to click the 'Next' button (found below) to move along the Creative Inking blog hop to see all the beautiful projects.

CreativeInking-HeaderImage

Can I just start out saying that Sale-A-Bration 2020 has been extraordinary this year!  Do you agree?  One of my favorite selections to choose for free has been the beautiful selection of designer series paper packs.  The latest release, the Flowering Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper, is jaw dropping gorgeous!  How can you resist adding Rose Gold foiled patterns to any project?!!  These papers were designed to keep in its natural state OR add your own color using a variety of coloring tools (Sponge Brayer, Sponge Daubers, Stampin' Blends, Stampin' Write Markers, Aqua Painters, or Stampin' Blends).  I can't wait to show you what fun I had teaming the Seriously The Best stamp set with the new Flowering Foils Specialty paper.

CreativeInkingHop-FloweringFoilsRt-Lori-DSC01109

I chose two of the four patterns in the pack to work with.  The 'grid' pattern is a nice neutral to tag along with the floral patterns in the rest of the designer paper patterns.  I chose one of the single large flower arrangements and added colors of Mango Melody and Pear Pizzazz using Sponge DaubersNOTE:  this is called the Emboss Resist Technique because the Rose Gold foil will resist taking on the ink.  The weight of the designer paper is suitable to hand cut the flowers...not too flimsy and not too thick to bother your hands if you deal with arthritis.

CreativeInkingHop-FloweringFloralsPasteClose-Lori-DSC01118

Before assembling the focal arrangement, I wanted to add a bit of texture with a 2nd color to help compliment the flower colors.  I've revived my passion for using Embossing Paste.  In particular, I added one drop of Pear Pizzazz Reinker to a small dollop (equivalent to 1/2 teaspoon) of Shimmery Embossing Paste and mixed together using a Palette Knife.  The Silicone Craft Mat is a wonderful tool when you want to mix up a batch of colored embossing paste.  It cleans up nicely afterwards with warm soapy water.  To make my own 'decorative mask' of the Sprig, I made a template using the Sprig Punch and Whisper White Thick Cardstock.  I set the handmade template in place and swiped the newly mixed paste over the template with the Palette Knife.  As soon as the area is filled, lift the handmade template and let dry for about 5 minutes.

CreativeInkingHop-FloweringFlorals-Lori-DSC01104

To separate the patterned paper from the rest of the white space, I added a Mango Melody scallop strip using the Stitched Be Mine dies.  I didn't want the flower image sitting all by itself, so I added a Copper Foil paper layer using the Starburst Punch and a couple of Vellum accents connected to the embossing paste layer using the Sprig Punch.  For added character, I tucked in some Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle before adding the Foil Flower with Stampin' Dimensionals.  The "thanks" sentiment is part of the Seriously The Best stamp set that I inked with Jet Black StazOn, covered with Clear Embossing Powder and set with the Heat Tool.  I chose to hand cut the sentiment and add it to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals...it added the final touch of character teamed with the focal image.

I love how this all came together so easily!  Thank you, Stampin' Up! for the adding the Flowering Foils paper as one of our FREE selections!  You can see all of the new products HERE.

Now, if you have ever thought about getting more for your money purchasing all of your favorite Stampin' Up! products, I highly recommend that you purchase the "Happy Shopper" Starter Kit and save 20% with each purchase.  There really isn't anything to lose...only lots of product to gain!  But, until you make that leap to join my Stampin' Up! family and fill your starter kit with new January-June Mini products you'll find the ingredients listed below, and I've set it up super easy for you to click on any of the images and add to your shopping cart in my online store.  I would be so very grateful to you and your support for shopping with me.  Check out my Dreamers Loyalty Reward Program...I love what I do and very much appreciation YOU.  So, I pay it back and reward my loyal customers with a FREE shopping spree. So with one click you can be on your way to soak in some more inspiration showcasing more "Spring Ahead" creations using supplies from any of the current catalogs and Sale-A-Bration catalog from the rest of the group.  Your next stop on the hop will be with our very creative, Dena Rekow.  I know her creation will be fabulous...she always shares a gorgeous creation (or two) to share with everyone. Click on the 'Next' button and you'll be at your next stop.  Have fun filling your inspiration bucket...don't forget to come back real soon.  :)

OSAT Blog Hop — Chick Ewe Out Fable Friends

Good morning, stampers and paper crafters!  Welcome to the One Stamp At a Time (OSAT) Design Team Blog Hop.  My name is Lori Mueller (stampindreams.com) and I'm super excited to have you visiting me today.  This may be your first stop on the hop, or you may have hopped over here from the previous OSAT designer. Either way, in order to view all of the blog participants sharing their wonderful craftiness, click on the next person in line within the list of blogger's posted at the end.  We've got some amazing projects to share with you!

OSATBlogHop-2018Header

This month's theme is "Chick Ewe Out" (or, anything with animals related to Easter).  I chose to bring out one of my favorite stamp sets with cutie-pie critters — Fable Friends.  When I played with this set last year, I had only stamped cards using the adorable little bunny.  So, I thought this was the perfect opportunity to ink up one of the other critter images to create a cute little Easter greeting card.

OSATHop-EasterFableFriends-Lori-DSC01052

I wanted to create with a vintage tone, so I focused on soft subtle colors of greens and yellows with neutral tones of browns and tans.  The Pleased As Punch designer paper (a new Coordination product release) was matted with Soft Suede cardstock and attached to a Whisper White Thick cardbase.  Before I adhered the designer paper, I mixed up some White Embossing Paste with one dribble of So Saffron Reinker to add a bit of texture using the Pattern Party Decorative Masks.  Then 'flicked' some ink using my Dark Soft Suede Stampin' Blend marker.

OSATHop-EasterFableFriendsFlat-Lori-DSC01060

The little squirrel from Fable Friends stamp sentimate was inked with Memento and die cut with the Stitched So Sweetly die.  LOVE that set of dies!  I used a variety of Stampin' Blends colors to bring the squirrel to life delivering Easter wishes (see product list found at the bottom of this post).  The sentiment also comes from the Fable Friends set, inked with Memento and matted with a coordinating Layering Scallop Circle in So Saffron.

OSATHop-EasterFableFriendsLeft-Lori-DSC01054

I love the look of Linen Thread as an accent behind the focal image.  Both the image and sentiment were set into place using Stampin' Dimensionals.  The Iridescent Sequins give it just the right amount of bling that doesn't steal the show.

At this time, you are now ready to hop on over to the next OSAT designers blog.  You won't want to miss traveling on as I know they will have something fun, cute and exciting to share with you.  If you prefer to work your way backwards, you can click your way through the blog list found below.  Either way, be sure to work your way through all of the blogs so you don’t miss a thing!

Stamping Around The World — Special Someone St. Patrick's Treat Box

AroundTheWorld-CountryBlogHop-Header

Good morning, my crafty friends!  If you've been traveling along the Stamping Around The World Blog Hop; or, if this is your very first stop, I want to thank you so much for stopping to visit me Lori Mueller, Stampin' Dreams. If you like to skip and hop and happen to get off track, the full blog lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog...you definitely want to make sure you see all of the amazing creations shared by the design team.

SATWHop-SpecialSomeoneStPatBoxKK-Flat-Lori-DSC01037

There's a little holiday coming around the corner next week; and it beckens that everyone show off their bit-o-green.  I have a bit of Irish in me blood, so I love to enjoy a plate of corned beef and cabbage in celebration of St. Patrick's Day.  If that's not your type of cuisine, then how about candies and chocolate bars?  I was really excited to find this festive candy bar sporting a bit-o-green...it was begging for me to design a cute box to store it in, too.  So, I started with Shaded Spruce cardstock (it was speaking to me) to score up a handmade box.  Besides using Gold Foil paper, I found one of the 'gold-ish' patterns from the Birthday Bonanza Designer Series paper pack to be quite lovely when matted with Mango Melody cardstock.  The critters in the Special Someone stamp set are so CUTE!  Plus, the Special Day Dies that recently came out in February make it super easy for me to add dimension...I love adding layers that pop.

SATWHop-SpecialSomeoneStPatBoxClovers-Lori-DSC01035

Since there are no stamp images or die cuts available in either current catalog related to St. Patrick's Day, I needed to 'think outside the box'.  Who said the Heartfelt stamp set and Be Mine Stitched Dies were only for Valentines?!!  Yep!  The heart die produces several different sized hearts, and when you connect the bottom points of them, you will get a faux 4-leaf clover!  I loved finding this sentiment as part of the Heartfelt stamp set...simply for the word 'lucky'...it was meant to be!

SATWHop-SpecialSomeoneStPatBoxLeft-Lori-DSC01028

The closure was created with a couple of holes punched in the top and cinched together using 3/16" Braided Linen Trim...soft and dainty and won't steal the show from the overall layout.

SpecialSomeoneCoonBirthday-ThumbnailMarked-Lori-DSC00951

Here's a sneak peek of my project included in the March Stamping Around The World Tutorial Bundle.  It was my inspiration when designing my treat box...instead of balloons, my critter has a bouquet of 4-leaf clovers.

Would you like to create this cute St. Patrick's Day candy box for a Special Someone?   I've listed all of the supplies I used at the bottom of this post; and, it's all set up super easy for you to click on any of the images and add to your shopping cart in my online store.  I would be so very grateful to you and your support for shopping with me.  For more beautiful inspiration, you'll want to make sure you hop on over to the next Stamping Around The World members' blogs to see all of the amazing creations they have to share.  Thank you so much for stopping by....stop back again real soon.
