Good morning, my crafty friends! If you've been traveling along the Stamping Around The World Blog Hop; or, if this is your very first stop, I want to thank you so much for stopping to visit me Lori Mueller, Stampin' Dreams. If you like to skip and hop and happen to get off track, the full blog lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog...you definitely want to make sure you see all of the amazing creations shared by the design team.
You are probably thinking I'm infatuated with the new Ornate Garden Suite that has been released prior to the new Annual catalog going live in June, huh? Okay, I admit it! Yessss, I'm in love with the Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Series paper because it speaks to me in volumes for everything vintage. The colors of Terracotta Tile, Old Olive, and the neutral Soft Suede are a subtle combination of beauty.
The Ornate Layers Dies are bundled with the Ornate Style stamp set (for a savings of 10%), but the dies are so elegant that you can use them with any stamp set or dies. These are a definite requirement on your next order. The daisy is part of the Ornate Style stamp set and was stamped onto the rectangle stitched die from the Ornate Layers dies.
The die cut for the daisies is much longer than what you see on the card...original die is the same length as the sentiment. I shortened it by lining up the first cut with the 'teeth' of the die and ran it through my die-cutting machine just to cut off the end. TIP: do not run the die all the way through the machine...just enough to feel the bump of the cut, then back out to see the new finished edge.
This suite has a bundle of two ribbon spools...one in Old Olive and the other in Terracotta Tile...a nice soft, satin texture that is easy to work with. I chose the large, bold sentiment from Ornate Thanks stamp set, but toned it down by clear heat embossing the Terracotta Tile ink color on Vellum cardstock that was die cut with the same rectangle stitched die used for each daisy image.
Here's a sneak peek of my project included in the April Stamping Around The World Tutorial Bundle. It was my inspiration when designing my card. I love all of the floral patterns included with this designer paper; and the big bold sentiments speak volumes...I'm SO grateful!
Would you like to create this lovely card for someone you are grateful to?
