Easter is one of my favorite holidays...started the day with church, followed by a fun Easter egg hunt, then filled our bellies with a homemade meal.  A while ago, I had up this wooden photo holder at a huge discount and my dream was to transform it into a mini 'Sampler' of sorts.

To start my Photo Holder Sampler, I cut a piece of Basic Black cardstock the same size as the original holder.  This is used as an added stability factor and to start adding all the components for the transformation to Easter.

To lighten up the background, I layered on a piece of Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper with Liquid Glue to the Basic Black piece.  The Wreath is made up of a Pear Pizzazz wreath die cut and glued to the background.  The eggs are inked with Poppy Parade, Bumble Bee and Highland Heather, die cut and matched up in pairs before arranging them on the wreath.  They are popped up and set in place with Stampin' Dimensionals.  For a little more Spring, I die cut the smallest flower from Mango Melody, set in place with Liquid Glue and topped with Pearl Basic Jewels.

 

The Easter sentiment was inked using Poppy Parade and Pear Pizzazz Stampin' Write Markers and stamped onto Basic White cardstock.  It was die cut with the Layering Circles Dies and layered onto a scalloped Layering Circle.  For a little softness, I added some Whisper White 1/4" Crinkled Ribbon behind the sentiment layer before setting into place with Stampin' Dimensionals.  Lastly, the Sampler piece is attached to the wooden Photo Holder with Velcro, which makes it easy to remove and add the next month holiday/occasion you wish to display.

CONGRATULATIONS to our last month's Blog Hop Winner!

 

It has been forever since I've made an easel card.  Interactive cards are always intriguing for the creator, as well as, the recipient.  The cardbase is Smoky Slate with a Stitched Rectangle created as a frame cut from one of the patterns from the Well Suited Designer Series Paper pack.  After creating the frame, I added a piece of Window Sheet to the back and die cut another Stitched Rectangle frame from Night of Navy cardstock to give the back a finished look from the back side.  The Window Sheet is used to help make the frame sturdy when propped up as an easel.

 

 

The cardbase front is scored at 2-3/4" before adhering the bottom half of the window frame.  The sentiment was inked with Stampin' Write Markers:  Cajun Craze, Night of Navy and Smoky Slate and die cut with the 2-5/8" Layering Circle die.  For balance, I added a 1/2" strip of Night of Navy and some Gold Thread from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack before adding the sentiment with Stampin' Dimensionals.
