Stamp It Blog Hop — Country Home Thanksgiving Holiday

Hello everyone and welcome to our October Stamp It Bog Hop.  I'm super excited to share a card focusing on this month's theme — Thanksgiving Holiday.  I can't believe that I'm going to say this, but I'm getting hungry for the traditional Thanksgiving feast...turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing and, let's not forget...pumpkin pie!  YUM!!  Since I know I won't be eating any of those foods soon, let's take a peek at what I have to share with you today!

October2016-TeamStampIt-Header

If you have been traveling along the Stamp It Group Blog Hop, or, if this is your very first stop, I want to thank you so much for stopping to visit me Lori Mueller, Stampin' Dreams. If you like to skip and hop and happen to get off track, the full blog lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.

StampItHop-CountryHomeThanksgivingFront-Lori-DSC08191

When I was preparing another card using this Country Home stamp set, I had stamped a couple of the images so that I could practice coloring with the Stampin' Blends.  With the philosophy of 'waste not, want not', I thought I would use one of them for this card.

StampItHop-CountryHomeThanksgivingFlat-Lori-DSC08199

It's typical that I use Designer Series Paper on my projects, but this time, the colored image gave me direction for a stamped background and color combinations.  Can you believe that this card is the first time that my Buffalo Check Background stamp has seen ink?  GASP!  I inked it with Basic Gray ink and stamped onto a layer of Mango Melody.  Both the background and focal image are matted onto Blackberry Bliss cardstock to help accentuate the artichoke in the floral image.

StampItHop-CountryHomeThanksgivingClose-Lori-DSC08201

One of my ultimate favorite things to do is add more than one color to the sentiment.  Since there is more than one font featured, it just seemed fitting to ink with Blackberry Bliss and Mango Melody.  Love the added character.

StampItHop-CountryHomeThanksgivingLeft-Lori-DSC08194

To bring in a little bit of country, the Linen Braided Trim is the perfect touch.  I love the softness...and, it ties beautifully into a little bow.

For more Thanksgiving inspiration, make sure you hop on over to the next Stamp It Group members' blogs to see what projects they have to share.  Thank you so much for stopping by....stop back again real soon.

OSAT Blog Hop — Fall Brings Ghouls, Goblins and Gourds

Hello-Hello stampers and paper crafters!  Welcome to my blog and the October One Stamp At a Time (OSAT) Design Team Blog Hop!  This may be your first stop on the hop, or you may have hopped over here from the previous OSAT designer. Either way, in order to view all of the blog participants sharing their wonderful craftiness, click on the next person in line within the list of blogger's posted at the end.

OSATBlogHop-2018Header

This month's theme is "Ghouls, Goblins and Gourds".  I didn't have anything to fit the bill for Goblins and Gourds, so I stuck with the cute Ghouls found in the Toil & Trouble Designer Series paper.

OSATHop-LabelsToLoveRight-Lori-DSC08098

There is a definite tint of Highland Heather in those little ghosts, so it made for a good matte behind the designer series paper and an accent to help show off the Labels To Love sentiment.

OSATHop-LabelsToLoveFlat-Lori-DSC08100

I'm not one to use one color with any of our neutrals, so I added some of the gorgeous Granny Apple Green Textured Weave Ribbon tied with a knot.  If you love ribbon, you are going to absolutely fall in love with this ribbon...OH. MY. GOSH!!  You need to get some...just sayin'!!  Sooo pretty and soft...to tie a knot or bow couldn't be any easier.

OSATHop-LabelsToLoveLeft-Lori-DSC08097

You all know how much I love dimension, so I inked the sentiment in Jet Black StaZon and stamped a 2nd time onto Pumpkin Pie to pop up on the original stamped image.  There are more dimensionals behind the main sentiment, too.  I hope you enjoyed this little "Ghoul" card...it came together so easy.

Takeout Treat Box with Bats

Wouldn't you agree that all those cute Ghouls need to be accompanied by a little Takeout Treat box covered with bats?!!  I stayed with the same color combinations of Granny Apple Green, Highland Heather and Basic Black.  The photo doesn't show it, but the bats were punched from the Black Foil paper using the Spooky Bats punch, both found in the Holiday catalog.  The sentiment came from the September Paper Pumpkin kit embossed with Whisper White Embossing powder.  Sooo cute!!

OSATHop-TakeOutTreatBox-Lori-DSC08103

At this time, you are now ready to hop on over to the next OSAT designers blog.  You won't want to miss traveling on as I know they will have something fun and exciting to share with you.  If you prefer to work your way backwards, you can click your way through the blog list found below.  Either way, be sure to work your way through all of the blogs so you don’t miss a thing!

This month's tutorial bundle is based on currently available supplies from Stampin’ Up! and has both metric and imperial measurements. So whether you are a cms or inches person, we’ve got you covered!  Make sure to look for the full details at the bottom of this post.

My extra project this month features the beautiful Falling For Leaves stamp set found in the new 2018 Holiday catalog and the luscious Merry Merlot & Copper 5/8" Ribbon.  YUMMY!!.  Since I can only show you a sneak peek of the project I created in the actual October Tutorial Bundle PDF, I'm sharing a 2nd project I made especially for this blog hop using the same products. It’s different from the project in the Tutorial Bundle as they are exclusive and you won’t see them anywhere else!

AllStarHopFallingForLeavesCandle-Oct2018-Lori-DSC07923

I am gearing up for Fall and Christmas craft and vendor fairs and came across this candle in my stash of "hmmmm, what crafty thing can I do to dress this up?" Do you have one (or more) of those kinds of stashes??  haha!  I think I purchased it simply because of its color...coordinates quite well with Crushed Curry Woods, Texture Designer Series Paper, and the brilliant color of the Copper Foil paper.

AllStarHop-FallingForLeavesCandleSide-Lori-DSC07930

After piecing the Woods Texture Designer Series Paper strips onto a strip of Sahara Sand, I knew it had to be finished off with the Merry Merlot & Copper Ribbon.  This ribbon is sooo soft and easy to work with, plus, it adds an elegant sheen and compliments the Copper Foil backing of the Tranquil Tide leaf.

AllStarHop-FallingForLeavesCandleClose-Lori-DSC07927

The bundle of leaves were die cut using the coordinating Detailed Leaves Thinlits Dies, arranged, adhered into place and then propped with Stampin' Dimensionals and set into place on the Woods Textures Designer Series Paper strip.  This will be a beautiful addition to your Fall table decorations, don't you think?

The Tutorial Bundles are based on currently available supplies from Stampin' Up! and include both Imperial (inches) and Metric measurements.  Soooo, no matter where you live in the world, you can purchase the tutorial and will be able to create the projects.

Stamp It Blog Hop — Fall Harvest Creates Jars of Love

August2016-TeamStampIt-Header

Hello and welcome stampers and paper crafters to our August Stamp It Bog Hop.  This month's theme is anything related to one of my favorite seasons of all...Fall!!  Can you believe that we have entered the doorway to September 1st?!!  YIKES!!  We'll hold onto your boots because we are going to have some gorgeous creations for you to enjoy.  Let's go take a gander, shall we!

StampItHop-JarOfLoveThanks-Lori-DSC07616

I'm needing to stock up on some Thank You notes for my wonderful customers, but needed something that was easy to mass produce, yet, still has that WOW element.  It has been a really long time since I had pulled out the Jar of Love, Thankful Thoughts, and Timeless Textures stamps sets...so, nothing like the present, right?!!  Plus, I found a card on page 125 of the Annual catalog that inspired me.  If you flip to that page, do you think you could tell which card I'm referring to?  I changed up the colors (Early Espresso and Highland Heather) and tweaked a couple things, but the layout is still the same.

StampItHop-JarOfLoveThanksFlat-Lori-DSC07618

Heat embossing is always a fun technique to do, but, it is even more fun for the recipient because it hits that "WOW" factor.  I really love the Copper Embossing powder...it heats up so evenly and is absolutely gorgeous!  The little trim on the side is the negative strip to one of the Delightfully Detailed Specialty papers borders.  I thought is was kind of neat how it accentuates the banner cut Vellum Cardstock piece.

PaintedAutumn-October-Lori-DSC05784

When I was creating this card, my heart was glowing so brightly thinking about all of the wonderful friends, super supportive customers, amazing members of Lori's Dream Team and anyone who stops by my blog to visit.  I love everything about this card...from the Soft Sky scallop edge (die from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits) to the sunflowers bordered with the color of Garden Green.

PaintedAutumnFlat-October-Lori-DSC05789

The sentiment from the Painted Harvest stamp set is my all-time favorite as it reflects what I am truly feeling in my heart.  I am a farm girl at heart, so my heart tugs at creating something rustic...adding some Burlap Ribbon, Linen Thread and a hint of Vellum leaves is the perfect touch to a country card.

I am sooo thankful for each and everyone you!

Again, thank you--thank you--thank you!  I greatly appreciate you stopping by to visit me.  I love the visits; and it warms my heart to read your thoughts you share with each comment.  If you haven't already, please share and invite your friends to stop by.  Oh, and subscribe to my blog so that you don't miss a single post.  I can't express how very passionate I am to share my love for papercrafting with you.

October Stamp It Blog Hop -- Thanksgiving

  Thanksgiving-blog-hop

Good Morning stampers and paper crafters!  I'm so excited to have you visiting me. Welcome to my spot on the Stamp It Bog Hop for the month of October.  This month's theme is Thanksgiving.  I have a dear friend who has been taking lots of pictures of the change of leaves in her area.  The time lapse showcasing the change in color has been breathtaking; thus, the outcome of my card project.  I have several friends struggling with health complications and/or have lost a loved one...they could use a little extra special love sent their way....beautiful happy mail to put a smile on their face and in their heart.

If you have been traveling along the Stamp It Group Blog Hop, you may have come here from, Linda Cullen's blog.  If this is your very first stop, I want to thank you so much for stopping to visit me. If you like to skip and hop and happen to get off track, the full blog lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.

StampIthpp-ThanksgivingLeaves-LoriDSC05651

I love creating cards that stray away from the traditional A2 card base size (4-1/4" x 5-1/2").  There was a left over piece of Kraft cardstock sitting in the Merry Little Christmas 12" x 12" Cardstock pack that was only 4" wide.  **squeal**  Perfect opportunity to create something 'unusual'.

StampItHop-ThanksgivingLeavesFlat-Lori-DSC05655

My favorite time of the year is the Fall season and the leaves dies that come in the Seasonal Layers Thinlits die set are sooo much fun.  When I was figuring out an arrangement of the Fresh Fig, Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze and Pumpkin Pie colored leaves, I decided to leave the little pieces in the large intricate pieces.  As the leaves fall from the tree, they are still whole, but as we rake them into a pile, some will have little hallowed areas as the dried areas crumble.

To add some balance, the large scallop die from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits helped with the Old Olive matte layer attached to the Pinewood Planks Very Vanilla layer.  The sentiment comes from the coordinating stamp set called Colorful Seasons...die cut from the Lovely Laurel Thinlits die set.

OSAT Blog Hop -- Fall and Halloween

OSATBlogHop-2017Header

Good morning stampers and paper crafters!  Welcome to my stop on the One Stamp At a Time (OSAT) Design Team Blog Hop for the month of October!  This months theme is anything Fall and Halloween.  Because I have been on an everything Halloween the last several weeks, I decided to change things up a bit and strive for a mixture of the two...Falloween.  Teehehe

This may be your first stop on the hop, or you may have hopped over here from my dear friend Maria Willis's blog. Either way, in order to view all of the blog participants sharing their wonderful craftiness, click on the "NEXT" button at the bottom of each blogger's post.

OMGosh!!!  I am so in love with the Pinewood Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder!  Just like the Spooky Cat stamp set and Cat Punch, this Pinewood texture is perfect for Fall-ish type cards.  It would be perfect for scrapbook pages, too!

The narrow strips are scraps of Watercolor Paper that I could not bare to toss into File #13 (aka...trash can).  Before adhering the strips to a piece of Garden Green cardstock, I put the strips tightly against each other so that I could give them a watercolor wash of Lemon Lime Twist, Daffodil Delight and Peek-a-boo Peach.  Then I dry embossed all the strips using the Big Shot and the Pinewood Embossing Folder.  Lastly, I sponged all edges of each watercolor strip with Soft Suede classic ink to give it a backyard board-on-board fenced-type background look.  LOVE-Love-love!!

OSATHop-PatternedPumpkinsFlat-Lori-DSC05622

Next, my Big Shot got a little workout with the Stitched Circle Framelit and a pumpkin from the Patterned Pumpkins Thinlits Dies set. The leaves were stamped with Garden Green Classic ink onto Garden Green cardstock (aka...Tone-on-tone stamping technique).  No fussy cutting necessary because Stampin' Up! has a leaf punch for that!  **squeal**  Add a strip of Burlap Ribbon, Metallic Gold Thread and some Glitter Enamel Dots to the picture and you've got yourself a beautiful Fall or subtle Halloween card.

Coordinating Patterned Pumpkins Tag

I love making coordinating gift tags!  I had a scrap piece of 2" x 3-3/4" Watercolor Paper, so I gave it the similar wash of colors used for the card, punched the top with the Scalloped punch, embossed with the Pinewood Embossing Folder, and decorated it with a Patterned Pumpkin set on top of a 2-1/2" Gold Foil punched circle and more leaves.  To tone down the Gold Foil, I sponged the edges of the pumpkin pieces with Soft Suede and glued them back into their spaces. Super adorable!

At this time, you are now ready to hop on over to Melissa Davies’s blog.  You won't want to miss traveling on as I know that she will have something adorable to share with you.  If you prefer to work your way backwards, you can jump back to Maria Willis's blog.  Either way, be sure to work your way through all of the blogs so you don’t miss a thing!

A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop -- Layered Leaves

Hello Stampers and Papercrafters!  Welcome to the September A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop!! A number of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from all over the world have joined together to share alternative projects using supplies from the monthly kit.  I'm so thrilled to have you stop by to check out my altered creation for today.

PPHop-HeaderPic

This month's hop features the fun and fall-ish "Layered Leaves" kit.  The stamp set included with this kit showcases a couple of detailed leaves; and I love the font used for all of the sentiments.  There is sooo much product supplies included in this kit that there were quite a few extras after the entire kit was finished!  YAY!! I'm super excited to share my altered kit project with you...let's take a gander.

PPLayeredLeavesKit-Sept2017-Lori-DSC05597

I really like this month's kit, so I was excited to discover that the kit came with 4 extra pieces of each die cut leaves and accessories.  How sweet is that?!!  This meant that I could make all 16 projects...8 each of the 3x3 card and pillow boxes, and then use the leftover pieces for whatever projects I could dream up.  Sort of like having leftover Sunday Roast so that you can make beef stew or beef stroganoff to create a 2nd meal that really isn't tasting like 'leftovers'!  :)  Leftovers are awesome!

The Soft Suede card base was shouting out "Fall" to me.  I layered a piece of Wood Textures Designers Series Paper that was embossed with the Pinewood Planks Dynamic Textured embossing folder onto a piece of Cajun Craze cardstock. To give a sense of a rustic feel, the patterned paper was distressed on the edges.  I love the rustic look.

PPThingHop-LayeredLeavesFlat-Lori-DSC05603

The hashed pattern paper comes from the Painted Autumns Designer Series Paper pack that is available in the Holiday catalog.  A strip of Gold Glimmer paper trims this piece to set it apart from the woodgrain paper.  It also coordinates and enhances the Gold leave layered with the bunch of leaves.

How do I know if Paper Pumpkin is right for me?

If you can answer "Yes" to any of these questions, then Paper Pumpkin is the perfect solution for you!

  • I want a creative escape but I don’t have a lot of time.
  • I’m not sure I’m ready to commit to papercrafting, but I want to try it.
  • I love to create but I don’t always feel creative.
  • I need some fresh project ideas.
  • How can I craft when I don’t have all the “crafting stuff” I need?

Go ahead....give it a 3-month, 6-month or 12-month test drive and get in on all the FUN!!  If you end up not enjoying it (GASP!!), you can cancel your subscription.  But, I'm sure you will be very happy and excited to see what the next month will bring you.  Trust me!  I've been a subscriber for over 3 years and I get anxious to receive my little orange box in the mail near the middle of each month.  **squeal**

Stampin Friends Blog Hop -- September Starts Fall Season

BlogHopHeader-2017

Good morning to everyone!  Welcome to my stop on the Stampin Friends Blog Hop!  I am excited to have you here!  **squeal**  The September theme arrives on the first day of Fall...that's today!...so what better creative topic than anything related to the Fall season. Now, get ready to be WOW'd because I know you are going to love what I have created for this hop.

This may be your first stop on the hop, or you may have hopped over here from Lynn Streifert's blog. Either way, in order to view all of the blog participants sharing their wonderful craftiness, click on the "NEXT" button at the bottom of each post; or, their name found in the blog hop participant list.

StampinFriendsHop-WoodlandBooCard-Lori-DSC05572

Ever since the amazing Solar Eclipse occurred on August 21, 2017, a new creative technique called the "Eclipse" came to life.  I couldn't resist but giving this technique a try myself and am so happy that what I envisioned in my head really did develop with cardstock.  The Woodland Textured Embossing Folder and the Large Letters Alphabet were a great pairing to work on the Fall-ish type theme, as well as, create a spooky Halloween card.

StampinFriendsHop-WoodlandBooFlat-Lori-DSC05576

It is very important that you die cut the alphabet letters first, then put the Whisper White layer along with the new alphabet die cuts into the Woodland Embossing Folder to make sure that dry embossing holds all of the full texture.  If you emboss first, then run the alphabet dies through the Big Shot after, the framelits will smoosh the embossed texture around the edges and steal away from the full effect of the Eclipse appearance.

The sentiment comes from the...you guessed it!...the Spooky Cat stamp set.  I know, I know, but I love that I'm getting lots of creative time with that set.  When you get yourself such a fun stamp set, you want to give it lots of love.  :)  It was inked with Archival Basic Black ink and clear embossed to add a little shine.  It was hard getting the camera to capture the texture of the clear embossing and compliments the new Black Rhinestone Jewels. The black Vintage Crochet Trim is dainty and delicate, and is the perfect touch to finish the card.

Coordinating Spooky Cat Mini Jar

What are the chances that I could find a little jar that has a rubber ring to coordinate with my Spooky Cat Lemon Lime Twist tag?  How fun is that, right?!!  :o)  The tag and sentiment images come from the Spooky Cat stamp set and is popped up onto the Lemon Lime Twist banner die cut was done with the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits die.:)  I couldn't resist adding some Black Metallic Thread in between the cardstock layers.  I love dimension and adding a little bit of whimsical character.  Filled the jar with Roasted Pumpkin Spice Peanuts and you've got yourself a super cute gift!

StampinFriendsHop-SpookyCatTag-Lori-DSC05582

So, tell me, what do you think of my projects?  Do you think you will try your crafty hand at creating an Eclipse card?  It really is a fun (and extremely easy) technique.  I'd love to have you share with me when you do play and create.
