Christmas Under the Mistle Toe — December Tutorial Design Team Blog Hop

TutorialBundle-BlogHop-HeaderImage

Hello stampers and crafters!!  Welcome to the All Star Tutorial Bundle Blog Hop for December! You are joining during the round of tutorials (August–January). This team brings to you a "super bundle" of 12 tutorials using only Stampin' Up! products.  There are amazing projects in this bundle that range from traditional-style cards, fancy fold, 3D giftables and various techniques!  We each offer this in our own business for free with a minimum order, as well as, a stand alone PDF purchase.

TutorialBundleDesignTeam-Collage

Here are the sneak peeks...it's loaded with fun and excitement and something you don't want to miss out on.

DecemberSneakPeekBundle-Collage

Each month's tutorial bundle is based on currently available supplies from Stampin’ Up! and lists both metric and imperial measurements. So whether you are a cms or inches person, we’ve got you covered!  Make sure to look for the full details at the bottom of this post.

For this month's extra project, I am so happy to have pulled out my regular Annual catalog to play with holiday products within those pages.  I decided to showcase the Under the Mistle Toe Designer Series paper and the Hearts Come Home stamp set.  Since I can only show you a sneak peek of the project I created in the actual December Tutorial Bundle PDF, I'm sharing a 2nd project I made especially for this blog hop using most of the same products. It’s different from the project in the Tutorial Bundle as they are exclusive and you won’t see them anywhere else!

TutorialHopDec2018-UnderMistleToe-Lori-DSC09135

I grew up living on a farm and surrounded with a tree shelter belt that had evergreen trees growing in the mix.  This pattern of designer series paper reminds me a lot of home with the images of fir branches, pine cones, and a mix of other tree species.

TutorialHopDec2018-UnderMistleToeFlat-Lori-DSC09142

One way of toning down a busy pattern is to keep the layout and sentiment layers pretty simple.  The thin strip of Copper Foil is such a pretty distraction from the busy pattern, which helped to show off the two-colored sentiment (Real Red and Shaded Spruce).  I just had to throw in a couple Sprig punches of Shaded Spruce and Sparkle Glimmer paper for a little contrast...but, not too much.

I hope you enjoyed my extra card project.  The clean and simple layout is sometimes hard for me, but I did happen to whip this up in under an hour!  haha!  I'm working really hard to break that habit of always creating and showing off more of the Avid crafting style.  How did I do?

The Tutorial Bundles are based on currently available supplies from Stampin' Up! and include both Imperial (inches) and Metric measurements.  Soooo, no matter where you live in the world, you can purchase the tutorial and will be able to create the projects.

Last Day of Snowflake Showcase with Buffalo Check

OH. MY. GOLLY!!  Where did the month of November escape to? Eeeek!  Even though we still have snow on the ground and the forecast indicates more on the way, it doesn't stop the clock indicating that today is the last day to get your copy of the Snowflake Showcase stamp sets, snowflake dies and trinkets.  If only we could back up the clock to gain more time to finish all the projects and tasks we have on our list!  *sigh*

10.01.18_SHAREABLE_Q4_OUT_OF_PUB_ENG

There is a lot of versatility with the two stamp sets included in this promotion.  You get a big bang for your buck with 20 individual dies to run through your Big Shot...snowflakes galore!  And, who doesn't like trinkets?!!

SnowIsGlistening-Congrats-Lori-DSC09122

I love to think outside the box and sometimes go against the grain of traditional colors related to annual festivities.  That includes creating winter-y and holiday cards that are not full of reds and greens. What do you think of my favorite go-to color combinations: Coastal Cabana and Poppy Parade?  Super pretty, right?!!

SnowIsGlistening-CongratsFlat-Lori-DSC09129

To really make the snowflakes pop, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to rest them on a Very Vanilla cardstock piece that was stamped with the Buffalo Check background stamp with Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  To ensure that placement of the Buffalo Check was not crooked (because that would drive me crazy for this card design...haha!) I used my awesome Stamparatus tool.  LOVE that tool!

SnowIsGlistening-Congrats-FlatClose-Lori-DSC09132

Since I started with a Coastal Cabana cardbase, I thought it looked better to use Poppy Parade for the largest Snowflake die.  Then top it off with a complimentary Coastal Cabana smaller snowflake die and a metal trinket.  Snowflakes need a little bling to show off their luster, so I mixed in some Silver Metallic Thread between the layers.

SnowIsGlistening-CongratsLeft-Lori-DSC09124

I chose the Congratulations sentiment found in the Happiness Surrounds stamp set, but you could use any sentiment to fit any occasion...birthday, anniversary and a simple 'hello'.  Snowflakes in the winter are not specific to any particular holiday...just the bitter winter months of the year.  haha!

A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop — To You And Yours in Holiday Plaid

Hello and welcome Stampers and Papercrafters to our fun monthly A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop!!   My name is Lori Mueller and I'm part of a team of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from all over the world that have joined together to share alternative projects using supplies from the November monthly kit named "To You & Yours".

PPHop-HeaderPic

I knew the minute I saw the plaid box that Stampin' Up! was showing off last month as a teaser of what might be inside for supplies that I was going to be hooked in love!!  I mean, really, plaid is the fashion right now...so, I knew it was going to be a good one.

Nov2018-ToYouandYours
AND, I was right!  As soon as I opened the box and saw the card designs, I was all giddy.  Those cards just scream wood burning stove in a log cabin relaxing in my PJ's sipping on hot coffee. Haha!

PPThingHop-YouYours-MerryBanner-Lori-DSC09101

For my alternate project, I went big and bold.  I cut three crumb cake cardbases in half at the 5-1/2" score line and used each half to create a "MERRY" banner.  The Large Alphabet Framelits and Layering Circles Framelits are always my go-to dies for banners.

PPThingHop-Nov2018-MerryBannerLayer-Lori-DSC09098

The kit included a woodgrained sticker that had a pre-cut circle...none of it went to waste.  The circle was used as a direct layer for a couple of the letters; and the negative worked well as a matte presenting variety among the banner pieces,

PPThingHop-Nov2018-MerryBanner-Lori-DSC09104

There is some fine gold stripes mixed in the plain designer papers, so I brought in some Gold Foil paper as an accent to give the banner a richer country appeal.  The banner pieces are threaded together using 3/8" Crumb Cake Classic Weave Ribbon.  I thought about taking the 5/8" Burlap Ribbon and separating the strands so they were loose and then thread through, but I really like the softness the Classic Weave Ribbon adds to the overall design.

This would look gorgeous strung across a fireplace mantel...but, if you don't have one, hanging on a wall or across the front of a bookcase would be festive, as well.  I hope you liked my project...it is super cool in real life...darned pictures just never do an amazing project true justice.

To get more inspiration for alternative ideas creating with the November Paper Pumpkin kit, make sure you visit the other A Paper Pumpkin Thing Group members' blogs to see what projects they have created to share with you.  I'll be on your heals to soak in the new ideas and inspiration.

Creative Inking Blog Hop — Holiday Gift Ideas from Santa

Hello stamper and crafter friends! Welcome-welcome...I'm so excited you're traveling the Creative Inking Blog Hop for the month of November! This months theme is geared around Holiday Gift Ideas and is perfect timing for the craft fair season!  I have a couple of big craft fairs that I need to get ready for, so this hop is a great reminder of just how much I have left to do.  Eeek!

CreativeInking-HeaderImage

You may be starting from here at my blog, Lori Mueller - Stampin' Dreams, or you may have come here from the very talented Colleen Vassos' blog. Please be sure to click the 'Next' button (found below) to move along the Creative Inking blog hop. If you get off track at any time, the full line up below will help you move along from blog to blog.

I'm super excited to share with you this awesome piece of home decor that I created!  Yes, I'm patting my back because my creative "dreams" actually came out the way I envisioned.  This little gem is going to be staying in our family home as I'm already struggling with the idea of gifting it to anyone.  YIKES!!

  CreativeInkingHop-HolidayGifts-WoodBoxOriginal-Lori-DSC08992

Anyone that knows me, knows that I can always be found rummaging around the clearance aisle in any big box store searching for any items that are just aching to be repurposed from their original manufactured design.  Already, I have found some great deals and this wooden box was screaming that I take it home for today's blog hop!

CreativeInking-HolidayGiftsBox-Jolly-Lori-DSC08994

I am absolutely in love with EVERY pattern of designer paper found in the Festive Farmhouse pack.  It fits right in with my country girl childhood background.  Something about plaid seems like the perfect match to anything galvanized...buttons, clips and metallic paper...everything can be found on Page 13 in Holiday catalog.

CreativeInking-HolidayGiftsBox-JollyClose-Lori-DSC08999

The letters for "Jolly" are several layers thick...meaning I die cut the letter "J" in Basic Black 3 times and topped with the Cherry Cobbler plaid designer paper.  I love dimension and stacking multiple layers just makes the whole focal point pop off of the Festive Farmhouse pattern that was run through the Big Shot with the Corrugated Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder.

Each month's tutorial bundle is based on currently available supplies from Stampin’ Up! and lists both metric and imperial measurements. So whether you are a cms or inches person, we’ve got you covered!  Make sure to look for the full details at the bottom of this post.

I'm super excited about my extra project this month because it is showcasing the Festive Farmhouse Suite of products — the Farmhouse Christmas stamp set and coordinating Farmhouse Framelits Dies.  All wrapped around a wooden crate die cut from the Wood Crate Framelits.  Since I can only show you a sneak peek of the project I created in the actual November Tutorial Bundle PDF, I'm sharing a 2nd project I made especially for this blog hop using most of the same products. It’s different from the project in the Tutorial Bundle as they are exclusive and you won’t see them anywhere else!

AllStarHop-FarmhouseChristmasBoxRight-Lori-DSC08345

My quest to get lots of handmade goodies made for the various Fall and Christmas craft and vendor fairs...treat boxes and packages are always a big hit...especially, when I fill them with chocolate!   I'm in LOVE with each pattern found in the Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper pack...the various plaid patterns are spot on gorgeous!

AllStarHop-FarmhouseChristmasBoxOpen-Lori-DSC08347

The crate measures 3-1/4" wide, 1-3/4" tall, and 1-1/2" deep...just large enough to hold a 2-pack of Oreo cookies.  YUM!!  It would be perfect to hold other candies, a piece of jewelry, or the teenagers most beloved 'cold hard cash'.  LOL!

AllStarHop-FarmhouseChristmasBoxButtonBow-Lori-DSC08351

I'm into vintage and antiques and the Galvanized Buttons are super cute!!  Thread some Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine, tie in a bow, and set into place using glue dots.  This button works perfectly to hold the box lid closed.  Look at those CUTE little bows!!  Die cut from Galvanized Metallic paper to coordinate with the button.  I would venture to say this little box will be a keeper once the cookies or candy has been devoured.  haha!

The Tutorial Bundles are based on currently available supplies from Stampin' Up! and include both Imperial (inches) and Metric measurements.  Soooo, no matter where you live in the world, you can purchase the tutorial and will be able to create the projects.

OSAT Blog Hop — Silver Bells and Sea Shells

Good morning stampers and paper crafters!  My name is Lori Mueller (stampindreams.com) and I want to welcome to my blog and the October One Stamp At a Time (OSAT) Design Team Blog Hop!  This may be your first stop on the hop, or you may have hopped over here from the previous OSAT designer. Either way, in order to view all of the blog participants sharing their wonderful craftiness, click on the next person in line within the list of blogger's posted at the end.

OSATBlogHop-2018Header

This month's theme is "Silver Bells and Sea Shells".  I'm not quite sure if the thought behind it is geared towards the ringing bells and destination weddings on a beautiful beach or if the direction was related to winter and the upcoming Christmas holiday.  It's funny how one theme can have more than one interpretation.

OSATHop-HappinessSourroundsSnowfall-Lori-DSC08330

The way I look at it, my card doesn't reflect either one of those ideas.  Crazy, but I'm liking it.  I looked through all of the colors in the Stampin' Up! color families and decided to go with Poppy Parade simply because I haven't used it in a really long time.

OSATHop-HappinessSurroundsSnowfallFlat-Lori-DSC08333

There's a new stamp set and Thinlits die set in town!  WOOT!  The sentiment comes from the Happiness Surrounds stamp set and the larger snowflakes are part of a huge lot of thinlits called Snowfall Thinlits Dies.  There are 20 different dies in this set.  **squeal**

OSATHop-HappinessSurroundsSnowfallClose-Lori-DSC08335

I struggled getting a photo showing off the large Poppy Parade snowflake that was clear embossed.  After the image cooled, I sprinkled Yellow Brusho Crystals over the embossed image and the rest of the Watercolor Paper.  Once you spritz the crystals with the Stampin' Spritzer, you'll want to set it aside for several minutes to dry.  The sentiment is punched with the 1" Circle Punch and is popped up on a Balmy Blue snowflake die.

OSATHop-HappinessSourroundsSnowfallLeft-Lori-DSC08332

The only silver on the card is the Silver Metallic Thread that is behind the Balmy Blue snowflake.  I did splatter some Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint using my Aqua Painter, but again, it is really hard to see.  Trust me...in real life, this card shines.  I hope you like my version of Silver Bells and Sea Shells...nothing remotely like it, huh?!!  Teehehe!

Stamp It Blog Hop — Christmas in July Under the Mistletoe!

July2018-TeamStampIt-Header

Hello and welcome stampers and paper crafters!  It's July and with your visit to my blog you have entered the Stamp It Bog Hop.  This month's theme is going to blow you away...Christmas in July!!  Eeeek!!!  I know that the big holiday seems like it is far away (less than 6 months), but it's always a good thing to be aware of so you know that now is the time to start working on your cards.  We are here to help fill your inspiration bucket, so let's see what I have for your bucket!

If you have been traveling along the Stamp It Group Blog Hop, or, if this is your very first stop, I want to thank you so much for stopping to visit me at Stampin' Dreams. If you like to skip and hop and happen to get off track, the full blog lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.

StampItHop-UnderMistletoe-Lori-DSC06769

My card is a wonderful sneak peak of some brand new stamps and framelits that will be available for purchase come August 1st.  This set is called Blended Seasons and has 12 stamp images with a coordinating die set called Stitched Seasons Framelits.  The main focal point rests on the designer series paper found in the Annual Catalog called Under the Mistletoe.  PLUS, this paper pack is one of the selections for the Buy 3 Get 1 Free Designer Series Paper Promotion.

StampItHop-UnderMistletoeFlat-Lori-DSC06777

I am super in love with the stitched framelits!!  They are nothing like we've had in our collections before.  Not only do they produce a beautiful shape, but when die cut from watercolor paper, the finished cut makes it look like a pillow top stitching...really cool effect.  The holly leaves and berries image was watercolored using an Aqua Painter and ink squished into the lids of my Shaded Spruce and Real Red ink pads.

StampItHop-UnderMistletoeClose-Lori-DSC06779

Outside of popping up the sentiment, there needed (in my opinion) to be a little somethin-somethin added to help make the whole panel just POP.  Using the Fine Tip Glue Pen, I added a dollop of the clear liquid glue to each of the holly berries.  TIP: This step was the last thing I did to the card, because when you do this, you will need to set the card aside for a few hours to let the liquid glue dry naturally.  I don't recommend using a heat tool to speed up the drying as it could remove the sheen of the handmade glue dot due to the heat of the Heat Tool.

A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop -- Back in Plaid November Kit

Hello and welcome Stampers and Papercrafters!  It's the last day of November (eeek!), which means that it's time for A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop!!  A number of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from all over the world have joined together to share alternative projects using supplies from the monthly kit.  I'm super excited that you have stopped by to check out my altered creation for today.

PPHop-HeaderPic

This month's hop features the fun and playful "Back in Plaid" kit.  The stamp set includes several sentiments with a fun and whimsical font.  Every box is filled with 10 muslin stockings with a buffalo checked cuff and a boat load of product supplies to create the most adorable stockings that are ready to be filled with your favorite candies, beautiful jewelry, or make it a quick and easy gift card holder.  The imagination and uses are endless!

Cdf045ad99ea5f7c19ba8b0d250d1d2b

Once I saw what this month's kit included, there was no way that I could bring myself to alter those adorable stockings!  Mine are going to make the best little gift holders of candy-n-cash for the loved ones on my list.  Soooo, what was I to do for an altered project using the supplies in the kit?  Well, there is always the stamp set and ink left over after each kits supplies are depleted, so a card it is!

PP-Nov2017-BackInPlaid-Lori-DSC05924

The color combination for this kit is focused on Old Olive, Dapper Denim and Cherry Cobbler, so that's what I used for my card.  I kinda like them together...what do you think?  Is this a color combination you would try?

PP-Nov2017-BackInPlaidFlat-Lori-DSC05931

I decided to create a shaker card, which is what the October kit was all about.  I had purchased the Winter Wonder Textured Embossing Folder a while back, but have never found the project to use it.  Well, this was it...I embossed a piece of Window Sheet after it was attached to the back of the Dapper Denim panel so that the extensions of the Winter Wonder snowflake would emboss onto the cardstock.  I had leftover sequins from the October kit to use, too.

What do you think?  Super cute, right?!!  I hope you think so...and, that you'll run and make one for yourself.  That would really make my day.  If you do, please share with me when you get a chance.

To get more inspiration for alternative ideas creating with the November Paper Pumpkin kit, make sure you visit the other A Paper Pumpkin Thing Group members' blogs to see what projects they have to share.  I'll be on your heals to soak in the new ideas and inspiration.  Thanks for stopping by....stop back again real soon.
