            SABLimited-Page1          SABLimited-Page1a

            SABLimited-Page2          SABLimited-Page2a

So, if you have been sitting on the fence wondering if you really need this stamp set, here is a little inspiration to tempt you.  I created this card for a group of ladies that I swapped with, but I loved it so much that I used it for one of my stamping card classes, too.  It was a HUGE hit!!

Creative Tips:

  • Melon Mambo cardstock and a pattern of Designer Series paper from the It' My Party paper stack really pop on the Basic Black cardstock card base.  I wanted something fun and spunky, so I offset them to be 'kitty-wompass' instead of a straight on matte layer.  Before adhering these layers to the cardbase, I took both colors of the Baker's Twine Combon (page 6, Occasions) and wrapped it around the layers and tied a bow to one side.  This just solidified the color combinations and added a little extra touch of character.
  • The focal point uses the 'hello' image from the Limited Time "Hello" stamp set (page 19 in the Sale-A-Bration brochure).  I inked it with Versa Mark, stamped it onto Mint Macaron cardstock, and heat embossed with Basic Black embossing powder.  The little party hat, from the same stamp set, was inked in Melon Mambo and stamped just above the letter 'e'.  I stamped it again on a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock, cut it out and popped it up over top of the image.  I did this because I love dimension; and it added a little character.  Then, I cut it out using one of my Circles framelits, added dimensionals and set in place.
  • I had a scrap strip of Melon Mambo setting on my table and stamped the 'birthday girl' image onto it with Archival Basic Black ink.  I seem to always go for a 'banner cut' end, so I decided to just cut the ends at an angle instead.  Again, I added dimensionals and set into place.

And, there you have it!  A super cute...super easy card that can fit the bill for an adult or teen or young child.  I love versatility!!

You don't have much time left to place your orders and grab this set for FREE....please don't miss out!  It is never fun to "wish" for something after it is no longer available.  One $50 order through my online store and you can get this "Hello" stamp set for FREE.

Creative Inking Birthday Bash Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to my first appearance on the Creative Inking Blog Hop!  I am sooo excited and honored to have been invited to join a wonderful group of creative crafters.  All the team members around the world have been working hard to inspire you as usual, so make yourself comfy and let's start hopping!

This month's theme is "Birthday Bash", which means that we create and share anything related to a birthday celebration. I am busting at the seams to share my "Work of Art" with you.  I originally designed this card for an organized card swap held during Stampin' Up!'s Annual Convention in July; and it fits the bill for a couple of summer birthday celebrations within my family and friends.  In the beginning, I thought it was a SUPER idea to use this card for a large swap exchange, but I (obviously) wasn't thinking about the mass production size of things.  Eeeeek!  Soooo, let me share my treasure of a tale with you.  haha

Isn't this the cutest watermelon you've ever seen?!!  **squeal**  I took the large scalloped Circle framelit to die cut the watermelon rind.  Then I stamped across it using the long 'swoosh' stamp image from the Work of Art stamp set and inked tone on tone (meaning, I inked the stamp with Cucumber Crush and stamped onto the Cucumber Crush scallop die).  Looks yummy, don't you think?

I really love the patterns of our 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper Stacks this year.  These polka dots in Watermelon Wonder (from the In Color 12x12 Designer Series Paper Stack) really adds some cuteness...along with the Flower ensemble to enhance the festivities.

Now, the tale of this card is a lengthy adventure.  When I designed this card I immediately was WOW'd and wanted to share that with my card swappers, so I ventured to get everything cut, embossed, and ready for assembling.  You see those seeds? All 8 seeds?  Well, they are really raindrops punched from the Tree Builder Punch, but...we stampers never use a tool exactly as intended.  haha  Back to my you know how many seeds you need to create 54 swap cards?  FOUR HUNDRED AND THIRTY-TWO (432)!! YIKES!  I decided to punch a bunch of extra seeds 'just in case' I should happen to spill the seeds...or, if some large wind blasted me...or, whatever sort of bad luck might have come my way.  Want to know a shortcut on how I punched soooo many seeds using the Tree Builder punch?  Check out the picture

I hope you enjoyed my cutsey Watermelon card that will make any birthday celebration a sweet one.  Now, you will want to check out Colleen's adorable creation.  Just click on the 'Next' button and you'll be hoppin'.  Have fun getting your fill of wonderful inspiration...don't forget to come back real soon.  :)

Celebrate Today for the Man in Your Life

So, who is the man in your life that is celebrating a birthday?  For me, it was my Dad...his birthday was this last Saturday...Happy Birthday, Dad!  I didn't get to celebrate his special day with him in person, but he did receive a wonderful sing-a-gram from me.  I definitely am not American Idol qualified, but I think he enjoyed it nonetheless.  He's such a good sport!

Today's share comes as the 2nd card project from my "Celebrate Today" stamp class last week.  This card was inspired by Jenny Peterson's creation I found on online (I think Pinterest).  The card sketch remains the same, but I did a bunch of switch-a-roo's with the color palette, designer series paper and embellishments.  The color palette originates from the Birthday Bash Designer Series paper (except the Sahara Sand)...Crushed Curry, Mossy Meadows, and Whisper White.

Here are the fine details....

  • The Whisper White card base measures 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" with the fold at the top.  Layered with Sahara Sand (4" x 5-1/4"), then topped with a piece of Birthday Bash Designer Series paper measuring  3-1/2" x 4-3/4").  I just love the pattern of this Crushed Curry paper...YUMMY!
  • The Mossy Meadows circle was die cut using the Circles Collections framelits...3rd from the smallest of the set.  I inked the decorative banner stamp from the Celebrate Today stamp set with Mossy Meadow Classic ink and stamped onto the circle...tone on tone stamping.
  • All topped with a strip of Whisper White that is banner cut using my paper snips, stamped with Crushed Curry and Sahara Sand Classic ink, and embellished with some Sweet Dreams Washi tape and a Sweet Dreams Designer (Sahara Sand) button and Basic Gray Baker's Twine.
  • To give the card some balance, I added some banners die cut using the Bitty Banners Framelits and the Banner die from the Circle Card Thinlit set of dies. Oh, and a little bit of bling of Rhinestones Jewels, which really isn't a 'manly' thing,'s a 'just because' addition.  WOOT!

I really enjoyed this sketch...I hope you will give it a try, too.  All of the supplies to create this gem can be found at the bottom of this post.

Stampin' Ribbon of Hope with Work of Art

After a long week of snow, ice and below freezing weather, today's sunshine brought us some happy hours of 35 degrees.  WooHOOO!  The only good thing about the bitter cold weather is that it is much easier to stay indoors to play with my stamps, ink and paper.  Teehehehe  Today's card share is the last card from my Stamp Out Breast Cancer class.  I 'borrowed' another card layout from Selene Kempton, but this time I changed the orientation and added a couple of brush strokes and dry embossing, and VOILA!  I do have to say that this one is my all-time favorite of the bunch.

  • Cherry Cobbler is such a rich color by itself, and adding the crispness of Whisper White makes me think of a ballroom gown....don't know why (LOL)...simply exquisite!
  • Learning to improvise just adds to the fun of being creative. For instance, check out the Blushing Bride Ribbon of Hope....stamped with one of the Work of Art images....simple and amazing!
  • LOVE the Large Polka Dot Embossing Folder and how it adds a subtle level of dimension...all with the help of my dearest friend....the Big Shot Die-cutting Machine!
  • Another tool that is never absent from my creation station are our wonderful punches. They definitely make life a whole lot easier.  A couple of Blossom Punches make a wonderful frame for the sentiment. Stamp sets are Daydream Medallion (inked in Blushing Bride) and Something to Say (inked in Cherry Cobbler).
  • Ribbons are my favorite accessory (one might even say that I hoard my ribbons...LOL) and the 1/4" Whisper White Cotton Ribbon is YUM-MEEEEE! Just the right touch of softness to fit the tone of this card.

You know, Cancer sucks, and there are NUMEROUS types of cancer, having a variety of colors.  The most exciting part about this card is that the Ribbon of Hope ink color can be altered to recognize and support of any particular type of cancer.  If you know of someone recently diagnosed or has been fighting the battle....make them a set of Thank You cards....not only will it put a smile on the patient's face, but they will be able to send out a gesture of thanks for any and all support they have received from family and friends.  Whether it be bringing over home cooked meals, driving them to Dr. appointments, helping clean the house or mow the yard, or any other helpful deed, this card alone will surely express an overwhelming "Thank You" for all your support.

There is a list of awareness ribbons and the meaning behind the awareness ribbon depends on its color or colors. Many groups have adopted ribbons as symbols of support or awareness, and as a result, many causes often share each color. Some causes may also be represented by more than one color.  For a quick reference of the ribbon colors and their significance, click here.

Something to Say with Stampin' Up!

That's right!  I have "Something to Say" stamp set is a wonderful, versatile stamp set that has landed several times in many of my creations.  Pair it with Daydream Medallions and we have an assistant to some fun creating while helping a friend battle against cancer.  This is card #2 from my Stamp Out Breast Cancer stamp class and was inspired by a fellow demonstrator and friend, Selene Kempton.  Her colors were more in the season of the Christmas holidays, and I have troubles totally CASEing anyone else's creations, so I changed the colors to reflect symbolism to Breast Cancer awareness with a touch of Pink.

This card is so soothing and warm using the colors of Soft Sky, Melon Mambo, and Smoky Slate and the variety of Daydream Medallion images stamped onto Very Vanilla cardstock and then matted onto a layer of Blackberry Bliss.  I just love the softness of the Smoky Slate cardstock base...really brings a richness to the meaning of the sentiments.  I'm sorry for the poor lighting as it makes the Blackberry Bliss inked sentiments, scallop circle and 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon banner tails appear black in nature versus the true deep, rich purple.  I just could not get the true color to come through.  But, you gotta love the sparkle, right?!!  The sentiments are popped up on Stampin' Dimensionals to add a little depth and character.  I have a couple of friends that are fighting the fight of Breast Cancer and Pancreatic Cancer that will be receiving some love from me.

Yesterday was a birthday milestone for me, which was celebrated quietly with my family.  My sweet hubby treated us to a night out of Brazilian food (Rodizio's) and Reese's Blizzard cake from DQ.  YUMMY!  And, my wonderful daughters bought me a beeee-u-tiful bouquet of flowers garnished with a balloon decorated with lots of candles....didn't count them, but there were LOTS!  ;)

I do have to say, that so far Life is Great at 50!!  Teeehehehe....I know, I can only speak experience of one day, but it's good!  ;)  So good, that I am handing out Birthday Treats to everyone that wants to party with me. Click on the image above to check out the details.  Place a $50 order through my online store, send me an email with your Order Confirmation number, and I'll mail you the Birthday Present of your choice (see selections below) along with a beautiful handstamped card from me:

Stamping Out Breast Cancer -- 5 Year Anniversary!

I know, I know!!  How many Anniversaries can one person have?  Well, this year is filled with lots of them for 6th year as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and also reaching 5 years as a Breast Cancer survivor.  WOOT!!  I am SO excited to be able to continue sharing life with my family and friends and everyone that I've met through my blog, emails, vendor & craft fairs, stamp classes/camps, Stampin' Up! Convention....and, the list never ends.  I appreciate everyone of you that has entered my life!

Every year, I have a special "Stamp Out Breast Cancer" stamping class with 3 really beautiful creations.  This first card was inspired by someone on the internet....probably through Pinterest, but I can't find it now.  I know that I changed up the colors to incorporate the pinks designated to Breast Cancer awareness, and what better stamp set than the Petite Petals stamp set and coordinating Petite Petals punch.  I am in love with the warm, earthy colors of our Naturals Ivory and Strawberry Slush.  YUM!

Follow me down Creation Lane.....

  • The background stamping is using an image from the Work of Art stamp set inked in Strawberry Slush and Baked Brown Sugar.  Once the image was inked, I did stamp off once onto scrap paper, then huffed the rubber stamp and then stamped onto the Naturals Ivory layer.  If you look at this stamp, you will see that it really is shorter than what you see.  Once I did the first row, I turned the stamp 180 degrees and did another row, and stamped over top of the bottom portion of the first row so that I extended it to fit the rest of the Petite Petals arrangement.
  • I love how the Naturals 5/8" Chevron Ribbon is all set up for me to trim into an arrow....I know, that's cheating, right?!!
  • To add more 'pink' accents, I added some of our Thick Strawberry Slush Baker's Twine that was placed in loops in not particular fashion....just whatever way you want to position them.
  • Smothered with Petite Petals flowers that were stamped on each of Very Vanilla, Naturals Ivory and Baked Brown Sugar and topped with some beautiful pearls.
  • The last little touch to hit the card creation was some of our new Essentials Wooden Elements that were added with Stampin' Dimensionals.

This layout renders almost any occasion.  I chose to use the word "Congratulations" from the Something To Say stamp set because I was going to create a large number of this card and send off to the many Breast Cancer Survivors I have met along my journey.

If you liked the Pink creation, check out the very quick transition of colors and sentiments for this next version.  Yep!!  Boss's Day was the next day and my brain was not working to create anything unique.  The sentiment is an old stamp that I've had in my stash (pssst....not a Stampin' Up! sentiment....please don't turn me in!)  Instead of Strawberry Slush, I used Pistashio Pudding.  SO easy and CUTE!!

ALTERATION NOTE:  It was to my surprise that the Essentials Wooden Elements only had 4 of the wooden arrows.  Soooo, I had to improvise.  I kept all of the Chevron punches from this card....(Yes, I'm a clepto), sponged the edges a bit with Crumb Cake and popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.  LOVE it!

Coloring Vivid Vases with Stampin' Up! Blendabilities

So, how many of you have dropped everything to get your hands on Stampin' Up!'s new Blendabilities markers?  ME, ME, ME (arm raised in the air anxiously awaiting for the teacher to pick me to answer the question)!  LOL  And, of course, I couldn't just stop at one set....they are like your favorite candy...very addicting and so much fun to play with.  I held a Blendabilities class a few weeks ago, and everyone was certainly "WOW'd" with ease of using them.  My favorite part was watching their expressions go from 'Hmmmm, I'm not sure about this because I have no clue what I'm doing' to the best expression "OMG!  This is so cool!  Look at me....I can color!"  LOVE it!!

I've listed the card recipe for you....

BLENDABILITIES COLORING TIP:  Be careful when coloring on Very Vanilla cardstock.  I discovered that the more blending I did, the more the color would 'seep' or 'bleed' outside of the lines of the stamped image where I started with my dark Blendability marker.  Click on the image to see what I mean.  I suggest that you leave a smidgin of 'white' space between the dark color and the lines of the stamped image to allow for 'bleeding' to occur.  Personally, I think the 'bleeding' gave the vases a vintage/mossy look, but I know there are a lot of stampers that much prefer the clean look.

Today, my heart weighs heavy....I learned that one of my bestest friend's Mom passed away last night.  Tonda and I had LOTS of crazy, teen fun in high school....I spent many hours cracking jokes, laughing and having fun with her parents.  So, it goes without saying that I have shed many tears this morning, but I have reminisced on SO many more memories.  Cathy was a wonderful wife, a loving and supportive Mom and Grandmother, and full of fun and spunk for each of the friendships she had created through her long life.  I'm truly blessed to have known such a kind, caring, and super wonderful woman.

This is card #2 from a Sympathy card class I held a few weeks ago.  When I first saw Peaceful Petals in the Occasions mini catalog, I wasn't sure that I *needed* another flower stamp set in my stash, buuuut, there is just something about this set that I find very soothing and elegant.  These are flowers that will render themselves as stamped silouettes or enjoy the therapy of water coloring with my Aqua Painter.

I just love how the Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper compliments and softens any vibrant colors of Gumball Green and Tangerine Tango.  The flower image was inked with Jet Black StazOn and stamped onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  My go to sentiment-filled stamp set is Petite Pairs....there are 18 stamps in this set....a wonderful sentiment for sooo many occasions.  Even though I did not add any embellishments such as ribbons, buttons, or hardware, I think the elegancy of this card was polished with the main focal points (flower and sentiment panels) popped up using Stampin' Dimensionals.
