Hello stamping friends! My name is Lori Mueller and I welcome you to my creative share with the A Paper Pumpkin Thing (APPT) blog hop group! I'm very happy you have stopped by because our crew is a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who are collaborating to create alternate projects using the supplies (plus, additional supplies) that come with our monthly Paper Pumpkin kits. Each month, my Paper Pumpkin subscribers and members of my Stampin' Up! family (Lori's Dream Team) receive exclusive tutorials to beautiful alternate projects. The creative fun should never stop with just the designs that come in each box! *wink-wink*
GOOD THINGS COME IN SMALL PACKAGES
This month's blog hop is working with the Good Things Come In Small Packages (December 2022) Paper Pumpkin kit. It contains the supplies to make sixteen colorful and exciting gift card holder boxes. Buuut, I chose to create a super cute card using supplies within the kit and extra supplies and tools from my own stash.
This kit has a schlew of colors mixed in the design, so I chose a Basic Gray cardbase which measures 8-1/2" x 5-1/2"; scored at 4-1/4", folded and burnished with a bone folder. The next couple layers are Vellum cardstock that was dry embossed with the Into The Clouds Embossing folder. Not only do you get texture, but embossing Vellum is simply cool! This piece was attached to the largest Scalloped Contours Die cut from Smoky Slate cardstock.
The original gift card boxes calls for belly bands made from the variety of patterned strips. I chose to use a Stitched Rectangle die to cut one from each of the patterns, then matte with coordinating colored cardstock (Calypso Coral, Crushed Curry, Balmy Blue and Garden Green). These matted pieces were added to the Vellum layer with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Before I adhered the Balmy Blue layer, I wrapped some of the Basic Gray Baker's Twine (included in the kit) around the whole collection of layers and tied into a bow. Then add the Balmy Blue matted layer to finish the colorful front.
Adhere the Scalloped Contours, et all, to the card front using Liquid glue. There are several extra Circles with the kit and will git several of the stamp images Vellum. The sentiment was inked with Basic Gray and added to the front with Stampin' Dimensionals. The smaller sentiment was inked with Calypso Coral, stamped onto Basic White cardstock and hand cut with Snips to add a little variance from the focal point.
Super cute, right?!! At this time, you are now ready to hop on over to the next A Paper Pumpkin Thing designers blog. You won't want to miss traveling on as I know they will have something fun, cute and exciting to share with you.
