A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop — Poppin' Birthday

Welcome-welcome Stampers and Papercrafters to our fun monthly A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop!!   My name is Lori Mueller and I'm part of a team of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from all over the world that have joined together to share alternative projects using supplies from the March monthly kit named "Poppin Birthday".

PPHop-HeaderPic

Every year, Paper Pumpkin celebrates its birthday with all subscribers...always with a little surprise gift, too.  This year was no different...everyone received an additional stamp set with their regular kit supplies.  How fun is that?!!

03.19_PP_YOUTUBE[1]
This kit was loaded with supplies to create 8 really cute pop-up Birthday cards.  All of the pieces were die cut, ready to punch out, stamp and assemble.  Comes with a wide variety of adhesives, too...dimensionals, glue dots, and Tear and Tape strips!!  You don't even need a pair of scissors for this one...can't get any easier than that.

PPHop-PoppinBirthdayRt-Lori-DSC09577
I love that there are quite a few extra pieces/die cuts that come in the kit.  These cute little bows were perfect for the layout of my card.  The polka dot patterned paper is actually part of one of the decorative card bases.  Eeek!  Yep! I cut up a card base to create my projects today.

03.19_PP_KITCONTENTS

Look at all of those supplies that came in our kit!!

PPBlogHop-PoppinBirthdayLeft-Lori-DSC09575

The ink color this month was Poppy Parade.  I stamped the sentiment onto a Vellum cardstock circle and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder so that it would stand out more.  I backed it with a Whisper White smaller sized circle die to avoid the patterned paper causing a distraction with our eyeballs.  teehehe.

Envelope Punch Board Candy Box

I took one of the patterned card bases and cut it down to measure 5-1/2" x 5-1/2".  Using my Envelope Punch Board, I created a little treat box that measures 3" x 3".

FUN TIP: To create a closure for the envelope flap, use a Mini Glue Dot under the paper bow.

A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop — Be Mine Stitched Valentine

Hello and welcome Stampers and Papercrafters to our fun monthly A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop!!   My name is Lori Mueller and I'm part of a team of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from all over the world that have joined together to share alternative projects using supplies from the January monthly kit named "Be Mine".

PPHop-HeaderPic

Lately, Stampin' Up! has been giving us little hints as to what our next month's kit will be focusing on.  The hint for this month indicated that it would coordinate with the Animal Expedition Suite of products found on page 27 in the Annual catalog.

January2019-BeMine

This kit was loaded with supplies to create 24 A-DOR-ABLE pillow treat boxes!  All of the pieces were die cut, ready to punch out, stamp and assemble.  Comes with a wide variety of adhesives, too...dimensionals, glue dots, and Tear and Tape strips!!  You don't even need a pair of scissors for this one...can't get any easier than that.

PPThingHop-BeMineBirdCard-Lori-DSC09330

For my alternate project, I hung out with these two love birds.  Aren't they just the cutest little couple?  I colored them with a variety of Stampin' Blends colors:  Balmy Blue, Lovely Lipstick, Granny Apple Green, Mango Melody, and Mint Macaron.

PPThingHop-BeMineBirdCardClose-Lori-DSC09333

Since the kit was titled "Be Mine", I just had to throw in a Stitched Heart from the "Be Mine" Stitched Framelits Die set.  If you are new to my blog and haven't been following me, you'll discover that I'm addicted to the new set of hearts framelits.  LOVE them!!

PPThingHop-BeMineBirdCardRT-Lori-DSC09331

I thought it was fitting to set the two love birds on a bed of Layered Leaves...it's been a while since I've used that embossing folder.  The kit included a lot of extra epoxy colored hearts, so I scattered a few across the card.

Chameleon Candy Tag

This little guy with his fly friend is so stinkin' cute!

PPthingHop-BeMineCandyTag-Lori-DSC09326

PPThingHop-BeMineCandyTag2-Lori-DSC09327

FUN TIP: All Paper Pumpkin kits come with a set of Photopolymer stamp images.  Since you can see through the block to stamp your images, it makes it super easy and efficient to die cut the Stitched Circle first, then stamp.  If you want to create this tag in bulk, the Stamparatus will be your best friend to whip them up in no time flat.

A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop — To You And Yours in Holiday Plaid

Hello and welcome Stampers and Papercrafters to our fun monthly A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop!!   My name is Lori Mueller and I'm part of a team of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from all over the world that have joined together to share alternative projects using supplies from the November monthly kit named "To You & Yours".

PPHop-HeaderPic

I knew the minute I saw the plaid box that Stampin' Up! was showing off last month as a teaser of what might be inside for supplies that I was going to be hooked in love!!  I mean, really, plaid is the fashion right now...so, I knew it was going to be a good one.

Nov2018-ToYouandYours
AND, I was right!  As soon as I opened the box and saw the card designs, I was all giddy.  Those cards just scream wood burning stove in a log cabin relaxing in my PJ's sipping on hot coffee. Haha!

PPThingHop-YouYours-MerryBanner-Lori-DSC09101

For my alternate project, I went big and bold.  I cut three crumb cake cardbases in half at the 5-1/2" score line and used each half to create a "MERRY" banner.  The Large Alphabet Framelits and Layering Circles Framelits are always my go-to dies for banners.

PPThingHop-Nov2018-MerryBannerLayer-Lori-DSC09098

The kit included a woodgrained sticker that had a pre-cut circle...none of it went to waste.  The circle was used as a direct layer for a couple of the letters; and the negative worked well as a matte presenting variety among the banner pieces,

PPThingHop-Nov2018-MerryBanner-Lori-DSC09104

There is some fine gold stripes mixed in the plain designer papers, so I brought in some Gold Foil paper as an accent to give the banner a richer country appeal.  The banner pieces are threaded together using 3/8" Crumb Cake Classic Weave Ribbon.  I thought about taking the 5/8" Burlap Ribbon and separating the strands so they were loose and then thread through, but I really like the softness the Classic Weave Ribbon adds to the overall design.

This would look gorgeous strung across a fireplace mantel...but, if you don't have one, hanging on a wall or across the front of a bookcase would be festive, as well.  I hope you liked my project...it is super cool in real life...darned pictures just never do an amazing project true justice.

Halloween Frights and Delights Homemade Designer Paper

PP-FrightsDelightsNotecardBoo-Lori-DSC07950

I was preparing for a craft fair this last weekend and had made up all of my September Paper Pumpkin Frights and Delights treat bags to hand out to shoppers stopping by my booth.  Now that those are all gone, what do you have left in your Paper Pumpkin box?  The stamp set, ink spot, and other extra pieces from the kit, right?  What do you do with those items — pack up and store them for a rainy day (although, it's been raining in my area for 4 days straight!)?  OR, do you keep playing and making new stuff?

PP-FrightsDelightsNotecard-Lori-DSC07941

Normally, my stamp sets and ink spots get put to the side while I feverishly work on my next projects, but not this time!  I wanted to show myself that there is still lots of life in these amazing images by creating my own "Designer Series Paper"!  That's right!  Have you ever noticed that there isn't any decorative patterned paper to play with?

FrightsDelights-StampSet

In true color, Basic Gray Classic ink will appear much darker than what you see on my card.  To avoid stealing the eye from the sentiment focal point, I inked up the various images, stamped off one time, then stamped onto the Whisper White layer.  I did the same with the Pumpkin Pie Jack-o-Lantern, too.  Now the spider and bat were full ink, but because they are small, it gave some contrast to the "designer paper" I was creating.

PP-FrightsDelightsNotecardFlat-Lori-DSC07948
There were, at least, half a dozen of the 'Boo!' stickers leftover from the kit, plus, lots of Black/Silver Baker's Twine to help adorn the focal image.  The Everyday Label punch made a quick background layer for the Pumpkin Pie Stitched Shapes Square.  A nice accent to show off the sticker, too.  Stinkin' cute!!

Even though the kit contained all of the supplies to create 24 adorable Halloween treat bags, I enjoyed using the leftover supplies, and a few of my own, to create my own spooktacular fun!

A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop — Frights and Delights

Hello and welcome Stampers and Papercrafters to our fun monthly A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop!!   A number of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from all over the world have joined together to share alternative projects using supplies from the September monthly kit named "Frights & Delights".

PPHop-HeaderPic

This months kit is nothing to be scared about...it would be scarier if we didn't have something spooky and fun to put our little treats in to give to the little goblins in our lives.  Eeeek!!

PP-Sept2018-KitImage
I pondered on what I was going to do with the extra pieces within my kit.  That's right!  You will find that after assembling all 24 little treat bags that there are LOTS of extra pieces that you can play with to create a card, candy tags, embellish a scrapbook page...whatever you want to do with extra pieces is all up to you!

PPHop-Sept2018-FrightsCard-Lori-DSC07882

This kit came with extra characters, so I chose to show them off all on one card using the featured colors of the kit...Basic Black, Basic Gray, Gorgeous Grape, Mango Melody, and Pumpkin Pie.

PPHop-Sept2018-FrightsFlat-Lori-DSC07873

I'm infatuated with the Subtle Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder and Vellum...I just love the cool effect it gives when topped over a darker colored cardstock, such as, Basic Black.  The "Boo" image is heat embossed onto a strip of Basic Black cardstock and White Embossing Powder.

PPHop-Sept2018-FrightsLeft-Lori-DSC07872

The Silver Foil paper to place behind the Pumpkins' face and Ghosts'eyes is just tooo cute!  I think I captured the spookiness pretty well in this picture.  These little characters are too stinkin' cute, don't you think?  A fun, whimsical Halloween card for any age.

Mini Candy Bar Tag Wrapper

I stuck with the same base cardstock layer of Basic Gray to coordinate with the Halloween card. There are extra sticker words in this kit, too.  Can you tell that you are going to be able to play with this kit a little while after all the treat bags are made up and given away?  How exciting, right?!!

PPHop-Sept2018-FrightsCandyWrapperFlat-Lori-DSC07868

To hold the Basic Gray wrapper layer together, punch each end with the Scalloped Tag Topper punch and tied together with some of the beautiful Black and Silver Baker's Twine.

PPHop-Sept2018-FrightsCandyWrapperClose-Lori-

FUN TIP:  To avoid the extended sticker words from sticking to areas that you don't want them to stick to, take the Embossing Buddy and tap over those sticky areas...enough that your sticker is no longer a sticker.  Gotta love a crafting tool that is used outside of its typical designed use.  :)

A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop -- Broadway Star

Hello and welcome Stampers and Papercrafters!  It is near the end of June and we are here for another fun and exciting A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop!!   A number of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from all over the world have joined together to share alternative projects using supplies from the June monthly kit named "Broadway Stars".  I had a ton of fun creating my altered kit projects and I can't wait to show them off to you...let's go take a peek!

PPHop-HeaderPic

This months kit is designed for any sort of celebration...birthday, congratulations, etc.  PLUS, it is designed to coordinate with the Broadway Bound Suite...products can be found in the Annual catalog (page 68-69).  Super exciting!!

June2018-BroadwayStar-header

For my creation, I did a combination of products from the paper pumpkin kit and the Boradway Bound Suite (Broadway Bound Specialty Designer Series Paper and cardstock pack and the Broadway Lights Framelits Dies).

PP-June2018-BroadwayStarFront-Lori-DSC06696

I took one of the cardbases from the kit and cut the front base to fit the Basic Black cardbase front.  I used the remain paper pumpkin cardbase to add a strip to the inside bottom.

PP-June2018-BroadwayStarOpen-Lori-DSC06697

The die cut "Hooray" is a sticker, but I wanted it to pop, so I added dimensionals and popped it up on a Lovely Lipstick Broadway die cut.  The Black and Gold candles paper is from the Broadway Bound Specialty Designer Series paper...I thought it really brought all of the gold elements together.

PP-June2018-BroadwayStar-25Prop-Lori-DSC06703

The gold numbers (25) were hand cut with Paper Snips from one of the Broadway Bound Specialty Designer Series Paper patterns.  I popped it up on one of the cake die cuts that came with the Broadway Star kit...then, popped that up with dimensionals to put in place on the inside.

It has been a long time since I've created a Pop-up card, and I'm really happy with how it turned out.  This will be perfect for our daughter...bold, bright, and perfect for her to celebrate a quarter of a century.  :)

Upcycled Gift Jar

It gets more and more difficult to buy for my daughters as they are at the age that they buy for themselves...what they want and when they want it.  HA!!  So, I'm always on the hunt for a new way to present them with moolah as a present!  Teehehe

Jar Pic

Gotta love old spice jars that have a bit of character  :)  I'm really pleased with how these projects came together...super cute and FUN!

A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop -- Manly Moments

Hello and welcome Stampers and Papercrafters!  It is the last day in May...yikes! but we have a really fun A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop to share with you!!  YAY! A number of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from all over the world have joined together to share alternative projects using supplies from the May monthly kit named "Manly Moments".  I'm super excited to share the projects I created for you....let's get to it, shall we!

PPHop-HeaderPic

Do you struggle creating "Manly" cards?  Yep, I do, too!  Buuut, I'm so excited to see my Paper Pumpkin kit arrive filled with the supplies to create 10 masculine cards ranging from birthday to thank you...and, including nephews and brothers.

9d871d66294fe0a203297c36575a2dd2

Another thing I struggle with is creating clean and simple cards...this entire kit is just that.  But, of course, when I create to showcase an alternative card, I have to kick it up a notch...or two.  :)  I started with a traditional cardstock base of 4-1/4" x 11', but scoring it at 4-1/4" and 8-1/2" is not our typical card style.

PPHop-ManlyMoments-June2018-Lori-DSC06570

I took one of the cardbases from the kit and cut the wood grain and plaid sections off of the card base so that I could use the pieces to decorate and create a really fun pocket card.

PPHop-ManlyMoments-June2018Flat-Lori-DSC06574

The front pocket can house the woodgrain notecard, but there are so many different items you can tuck into pocket cards:  bookmarks, magnets, tags, gift cards, and personalized notes.

PPHop-ManlyMoments-June2018FlatPocket-Lori-DSC06576

Cute Thank You Tag

You are not probably going to believe this, but this little tag is made up of scraps that were laying around my craft counter.  **squeal**  I inked the "thank you" image in Mossy Meadow and stamped first and 2nd renditions onto the scrap stitched shape circle.  The woodgrain strip is from the pocket notecard that I trimmed down.  Super cute, right?!!

PPHop-ManlyMoments-June2018-ThankYouTag-Lori-DSC06585

PPHop-ManlyMoments-June2018-ThankYouTagFlat-Lori-DSC06582

I'm really pleased with how these projects came together...clean and simple!  The pocket card can be for any occasion, too...birthday, anniversary, etc.  Gotta love the creations that are designed to accommodate more than one occasion.  :)

A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop -- You Are My Anchor

Hello and welcome Stampers and Papercrafters!  It is May...already! but we have a really fun A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop to share with you!!  A number of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from all over the world have joined together to share alternative projects using supplies from the April monthly kit named "You Are My Anchor".  I'm super excited to share what I created for you....let's get to it, shall we!

PPHop-HeaderPic

Do you have a sailor or avid boater in the family?  How cute is this kit?  Fun 3" x 3" cards with coordinating envelopes...then you can tuck a set of five into the adorable gift box.  You'll have four wonderful gifts...all out of ONE little kit!  Can't beat that, I'd say! ;)

April2018-YouAreMyAnchor

I decided to take one cardbase from each design and cut the 3" x 6" in half.  The Whisper White Notecards and Envelopes were calling my name to enhance and add the original designed 3" x 3" card to the front.  I focused on adding cardstock pieces in the coordinating colors of Calypso Coral, Island Indigo and Pool Party.

PP-April2018-YoureMyAnchorGroupFlat-Lori-DSC06454

One more added feature was to emboss the cardstock strip layers using the Seaside Textured Embossing Folder.  I couldn't resist...it was meant to have a little bit of wave with the images.  :)

This set of 5 notecards went together pretty quickly.  Now, all I have to do is add a little coordinating stamped image to the envelopes and I have a 'larger' gift set of cards to give away.  By cutting the 3" x 3"s in half, I'll get double the amount of cards because all but one had the matching design on the other half.  **squeal**

A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop — May Good Things Grow

Hello and welcome Stampers and Papercrafters!  The end of March is knocking down our doors, but not before you attend another series of A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop!!  A number of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from all over the world have joined together to share alternative projects using supplies from the March monthly kit named May Good Things Grow.  This month's kit is a really special one because of March is the month that Paper Pumpkin came to life.  Shall we go take a peek at what I created for you.

PPHop-HeaderPic

This month's hop features a little bit of vintage...such as reflecting on Stampin' Up!'s upcoming 30th Anniversary celebration...many good things have grown over the years since Stampin' Up! came to life back in 1988.  :)

I die cut the largest stitched oval from the center of one of the patterned pieces and raised it to reflect an eclipse effect.

PP-MayGoodThingsGrow-Lori-DSC06384

I had to matte the patterned paper because it is too pretty not to pair it up with Fresh Fig cardstock.  The Fresh Fig ribbon is oh-so pretty for finishing into a knot.

PP-MayGoodThingsGrow-CardFlat-Lori-DSC06392

The focal wooden piece was stamped with one of the sentiments using Early Espresso Classic ink.  Add one of the larger Fresh Fig pearls to each end and decorated with a couple of the leaf punch-outs.

PP-MayGoodThingsGrowLeft-Lori-DSC06387

Coordinating Envelope Box (aka Bag-a-lope)

I couldn't pass up the opportunity to alter one of the envelopes into a little treat gift box.  Decorate it with some of the ribbon and die cut flowers and leaves, and you've got a winner of a little gift box.

PP-MayGoodThingsGrow-EnvelopeBox-Lori-DSC06395

Due to the heaviness of the envelope, it would work best to use Stampin' Up!'s Simply Scored Tool to ensure you get a nice score line to fold on.

PP-MayGoodThingsGrow-BoxSideBack-Lori

Slice a very thin piece off the bottom of the envelope.  Then score at 5/8" on each side, and 3/4" on the bottom.  Snip up from the bottom to horizontal score line on each side, fold on score lines, adhere the bottom together, and decorate.
