Stamp Out Breast Cancer

We're Stronger Together HOPE Adhesive Bundle Kits!

Hello stampers!!  During the last weekend in October, I held a Stamp Out Breast Cancer Fundraiser Retreat to help raise funds to donate to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.  There were 34 amazing crafters that joined with me to fight for a cure.  I am a survivor of 12 years and my goal is to raise $1,000 overall.  Unfortunately, I fell short of that goal and raised a total of $470.  I'm still determined to raise a bit more funds to donate and need your help.  We are all stronger together when we bond like adhesive to fight for a cure, right?  So, that leads me to offering my HOPE Adhesive Bundle Kits!

Adhesive Kits—Colorful Pink Breast Cancer Support Hand - Lori Mueller Stampin Dreams

There is a wide variety of adhesives in this bundle that will fulfill all of our crafting needs...maybe even help you restock a few that you are running low on, too.  With every HOPE Adhesive Bundle Kit that is purchased, I will donate $10 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation...a division that I have been affiliated with for over 7 years.  The bundled kit is $47 retail value...I'll pay for the shipping and tax.  A super great deal!

Pink Awareness for Stamp Out Breast Cancer FUNdraiser Retreat

StampOutBreastCancer-Header2019-Lori

October is recognized as National Breast Cancer Awareness month, and I'm a Breast Cancer Survivor going on 10 years now! **squeal**  So, each year, I invite many friends, customers, and their friends and family to join me in a fundraising 2-day weekend retreat to "Stamp Out Breast Cancer". This event is super important to me because at the time I joined the Stampin' Up! family 11 years ago this month, I was diagnosed 4-1/2 months later.  I tell you what...I buried myself in my stamps, paper and ink and crafted like no tomorrow.  It's what kept me sane and my mind off of the ugly I was going through.  So, to offer a retreat for others who have gone through what I experienced, or knows of someone (family, friends, co-workers, etc.) that battled Breast Cancer means the world to me.  It's designed for us to have lots fun; and a fulfilling way to support a loved one battling breast cancer, to raise money for further research and increase awareness of the disease.

We collectively gathered our favorite crafting supplies and converged for two full days of mental therapy (aka FUN), whether it be stamping, scrapbooking, making jewelry, painting, quilting, knitting/crocheting, making cards...whatever it was, we brought it all with us (by the wagon loads) to relax and melt the worries away.

SOBC-LunchBags-Lori-DSC00081

One of the things I love to do for each event is to search for fun bags and gift items for each registered crafter.  This year, I found these super cute thermal lunch bags, which made it a fun way to house all the Stampin' Up! product goodies they received.  Don't they look so pretty all lined up?  Like a small field of flowers in my kitchen!

SOBC2019-LunchBagTag-Lori-DSC00084

I'm sooo thankful that Stampin' Up! continued to carry the Support Ribbon Dies (Item #143749) in the Annual catalog!  If it ever retires, this is one set of dies that I can NEVER let go of.  A definite must-have to create for all kinds of color recognition.  The Stitched Nested Labels Dies have gotten a lot of use with my crafting.  It was the perfect background layer for the tag.  The Designer Series paper is from the Bird Ballad pack, but the cardstock for the Ribbon die cut and ruffled ribbon bow are retired.

SOBC2019-NameTagNotebooks-Lori-DSC00088

Typically, I create a tag with each registrants name and tie it to the bag.  But this year, these coordinating notebooks with the lunch bags were the winner to making the retreat extra special and personal for each crafter.  Again, the Stitched Nested Labels Dies set the background stage to their name printed on Whisper White cardstock and punched out with the Pretty Label Punch.

SOBC-FoodTable-Lori-DSC00101

Each year, I'm on the lookout for any candies and snacks wrapped/adorned in any shade of Pink!  Snacks of all kinds...salty and sweet...are needed to encourage the creativity of our craft we bring with us to work on.  I also hunt for special items to raffle off — all proceeds from the sale of raffle tickets are donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.  I didn't quite meet my fundraising goal of $500, but we made a dent (raised $320)!  I'm happy to host the event and have sooo many wonderful friends (new and old) join me in the fight to find a cure for Breast Cancer.

SOBC2019-PinkRibbonPaneraBagels-Lori-DSC00118

I love the strong commitment to Pink Awareness demonstrated by Panera Bread.  They create "Pink Ribbon Bagels" during the entire month of October.  I was a lucky recipient of a donated supply of these wonderful, delicious, and fresh out of the oven baked goodness!  This is the 2nd box, so you can see, these were a huge hit of yummy-ness!

SOBC-SamsCookieCake-Lori-DSC00096

Special THANKS to Sam's Club for their donation and creation of this ginormous Chocolate Chip cookie cake featuring my Stamp Out Breast Cancer event logo. YUM's for the sweet tooth!

SOBC2019-GroupPic-Lori-DSC00107

And here you have it...the wonderful group of ladies (missing a couple) who joined with me to fight and Stamp Out Breast Cancer. We had an awesome TWO days to do what we love to do — make greeting cards, preserve pictures in newly created scrapbook pages, play with string and create Dreamcatchers, or create fun little gifts and treat packages for friends and co-workers.  Whatever you love to do to keep your hearts happy, mindsets relaxed, and our crafty fingers crafting beautiful things...that's why we joined together, to do what we love and share with others.

SOBC2019-LoriTeam-Lori-DSC00127

My heart is full and overflowing when some of my friends and members of my Lori's Dream Team join with me for this retreat. I don't get to see a large number of my team very often (we are spreading wide across the states), so we make the best of the two days to chat about our daily lives and families, stamp and papercraft, and talk about Stampin' Up! news and bounce stamping techniques and ideas off of each other. We definitely have an amazing time — LOVE them all!

SOBC2019-SideVehicleFull-Lori-DSC00134 SOBC2019-FullVehicleBack-Lori-DSC00136

I don't know about you, but my least favorite part of any travels or events is the unpacking!  One positive, though, it was a lot easier to get everything to fit into my vehicle for the ride home than it was to stuff everything in on Day 1.  Oh, there is a 2nd positive...NO LAUNDRY!  haha!!

2nd Annual Ultimate Pink Blog Hop -- Crafting Pink For Breast Cancer Awareness

2ndAnnualPinkBlogHop-Graphic

Good morning stampers & crafters!

Welcome to the first ever Ultimate Pink Blog Hop -- a collection of ideas from Stampin' Up! demonstrators who have gathered together from all over the globe featuring shades of pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  As a 7-year-survivor of breast cancer, this blog hop resonates deeply in my heart and soul.  I was diagnosed at an early age...before mammograms were prescribed and recommended for an age below 45-50, but it was me being proactive and doing self-checks.  Fortunately for me, I discovered the aggressively growing lump early on. I have been richly blessed by God to continue my life; and to be surrounded by so many family and friends that truly love and care for me.  I thank God for every new day.

I was inspired by a card I saw somewhere on the internet (memory is overwhelmed at the moment) showcasing the Pop Of Pink Suite of products available in the big Annual Stampin' Up! catalog (page 84-85).  It is so much fun to see everything come to life with the Pop of Pink Specialty paper and the Pop of Paradise stamp set.

UltimatePinkHop-PopOfParadise-Lori-DSC01588

 Creative Tips:

  • Even though you can't see if from the front of the card, I chose to go with the Whisper White Thick cardstock for my cardbase (5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored at 4-1/4").  I knew that I was going to have quite a bit of White displayed with the stamping and designer series paper; therefore, I cut the Melon Mambo cardstock layer the same measurements as the cardbase front...5-1/2" x 4-1/4" and glue it with all sides flush to the base.
  • The top black and white layer comes from the Pop of Pink Specialty paper pack; while the bottom layer has been stamped randomly with stamps from the Pop Of Paradise stamp set using Melon Mambo and Archival Basic Black ink.  Add a strip of Pop of Pink Designer Washi Tap across the seam and wrap the Basic Black Solid Baker's Twine around the matted layer and tie in a bow.  Glue this layer to the front of the Whisper White cardbase.
  • Stamp the heart-shaped "Thinking of you" sentiment with VersaMark onto Basic Black cardstock, cover with Silver embossing powder and set with the Heat Tool on the high setting.  Hand cut the heart with Paper Snips.

UltimatePinkHop-PopOfParadiseSide-Lori-DSC01597

  • Cut a solid heart out of Silver Glimmer paper using the Sweet & Sassy Framelits Dies.  Cut another heart out of Melon Mambo using the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits Die. Layer the 3 hearts and add Stampin' Dimensionals on the sentiment layer. Use Fast Fuse or Multipurpose Liquid Glue to set the whole heart ensemble into place on the card front.

Thanks for taking part in our blog hop....I am really excited that you are here.  To continue to be inspired, there are many (many) more amazing "Pink" ideas to add joy and a smile to that special someone's day.  I'm sure that we all know someone who could use a little lift to their spirit...you won't want to miss checking out all of the blogs!  I'll be traveling right behind you. OSAT Blog Hop Shares October Halloween & Fall Projects

OSATBlogHop-HalloweenFall-OctHeaderGood Morning Stampers!

I am so excited to have you join me for the October series of the One Stamp At a Time Blog Hop (aka OSAT).  As much as I hate to see the days get shorter and the temperatures creep lower, the Fall season is my favorite time of the year.

You may be starting from here at my blog, Lori Mueller - Stampin' Dreams, or you may have come here from the previous person to me on the list. Please be sure to click the 'Next' button at the end of this post so that you get to enjoy the next set of inspiring projects as you travel through the blog hop. If you get off track at any time, the full line up below will help you move along from blog to blog.

I was originally planning to create and share a card and project focusing on the Fall season, but my plans changed a Halloween themed ensemble because of a new video released by Stampin' Up! using the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits.  Let's take a look.

Howl-0-weenTreatPumpkin-Lori-DSCN0189

Creative Tips:

  • Sponging the edges of the Happy Haunting Designer Series Paper (Tangelo Twist striped pattern) with Soft Suede and one of our Stampin' Sponges is wonderful for when you want to tone down the brightness or to add a little vintage.
  • I love the little pumpkin from the Howl-o-ween Treats stamp set (inked in Tangelo Twist)...especially when Stampin' Up! creates the images to coordinate with a matching framelit from the Boo To You Framelits set.
  • The new Spider Web Doilies are very versatile and allow you to get lots of mileage with one doily.  The accent to the "Trick or Treat" sentiment is the center of one Spider Web Doily.  I liked the solidness of that part of the doily.
  • The front of the card needed another color, so I took some of the Happy Haunting Washi Tape (Rich Razzleberry) and covered a strip of Very Vanilla cardstock.  Adding this strip really compliments the card and shows off the card base for vintage elegance.

DID YOU KNOW?  that there are 17 brand new bundles available in the Holiday Catalog?  Yep!!  These bundles save you 15%...moolah that you can spend on more products from your Wish List.  **squeal**  Bundles include Stamp sets & Punches, Stamp sets and Framelits, and more.  Download BundleAndSave-Flyer.

Howl-O-WeenTreatsInside-Lori-DSCN0307

When your card base is a dark color (like Rich Razzleberry), it is always extra special (and needed) to decorate the inside of the card with the lighter tones.  This is so you can actually see the words written to your recipient.  Hahaha!

Howl-O-WeenMiniTreatBag-Lori-DSCN0317

No Trick or Treat card is complete without the 'treat', right?!!  Stampin' Up! just came out with a little video sharing the 'how to' tutorial related to the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies.  You end up with a mini-mini treat bag!  **squeal**  Super cute and oh, so easy to do.  Here is the free video tutorial.

Thanks for taking part in our One Stamp At a Time blog hop. It is always a real 'Treat' to create fun and exciting projects to share with you.  I am very thankful that you have stopped to visit me.  There are a good number of hops to travel, which means many more ideas and inspiration to fill your creative mind...you won't want to miss a single one! Grand Vacation Achievers Blog Hop--Remember to Give Thanks

GV_Blog_Hop_Banner_04
Welcome to the September Grand Vacation Achievers Blog Hop. The theme for this month's hop is "Remember to Give Thanks".  There are over 30 participants on this hop and we are all excited to share some projects showcasing Stampin' Up! products into an artistry form and remembering to give thanks.

You may be starting from here at my blog, Lori Mueller - Stampin' Dreams, or you may have come here from the previous person to me on the list. Please be sure to click the person after me to move along the blog hop. If you get off track at any time, the full line up below will help you move along from blog to blog.

AmongBranchGiveThanks-AchieversHop-Lori-DSCN0283

I chose to use one of the images from the Among the Branches stamp set as my focal point.  First and foremost, I want to Give Thanks to our Dear Lord for allowing my family to continue living on earth...LOVE them to pieces!  With that said, my family does not all live in the same state anymore, which makes it hard for all of us to get together, so we have always gathered at Thanksgiving at the old family homestead.  Autumn Wishes and tasty dishes brings back wonderful memories that my family has been creating for many years celebrating "thanks giving".  I can already smell the delicious foods that Mom cooks each year.  YUM!

I also want to extend my heartfelt "thank you" to all of my family, friends and customers for all of the love and support with my Stampin' Up! business.  Without all of YOU, I would not have been able to earn the wonderful Mediterranean Cruise that sets sail May 2016.  I wish I could give each of you a personal hug, but a virtual {{HUG}} will have to do until that wonderful day that our paths will cross in person.  Thank you SO much!

The color scheme that I used is a Very Vanilla cardbase, Early Espresso, Cajun Craze, Hello Honey cardstock and a pattern from the Farmers Market Designer Series Paper pack.  The leaves accented with Linen Thread come from the Vintage Leaves stamp set and die cut using the Leaflets Framelits.

AmongBranchesHeader-GiveThanksAchieversHop-Lori-DSCN0288
The center focal point was a little drab putting layer on top of layer, so I threw in some of the new Gold Metallic Thread and dimensionals between the Early Espresso and Hello Honey layer.  Soooo much better looking with a little added character, don't you think?!!

The little leaves come from the Among the Branches set and are single stamps.  I grouped them together on a clear block and dabbed the corner of my ink pads (Soft Suede, Cajun Craze & Hello Honey) randomly onto the grouped leaves and stamped onto Very Vanilla.  I would clean the stamps and ink them up all over again...repeated until the piece of cardstock was full of colorful leaves.

Thank you so much for taking part in our blog hop. With so many amazing ideas and inspiration throughout the hop, you won't want to miss a single one! Hello and welcome to another round of the Creative Inking Blog Hop!  That's quite a blog post title, huh?  I know it's a bit choppy...I'll work on better titles in the future.  :)  I am sooo excited and honored to be a member of this wonderful group of Creative Inking geniuses.  All of the team members around the world have been working hard to create adorable, fun and inspiring projects for you to drool over.  Grab your cup of Joe (or other favorite morning beverage) and let the inspiration begin!

Our crafting theme for September is Hooray for Halloween or Amazing Autumn.  Contrary to what I mentioned yesterday about not being ready to step into the Fall season, I thought I would get my toes wet a little and create another card using the Acorny Thank You bundle (stamp set and coordinating Acorn Builder punch).  Let's check it out.

Creative Tips:

  • Do you find yourself struggling to pick out a color combination for a card?  I know that I do, but that's when I go to one of the Designer Series Paper packs that Stampin' Up! offers.  I *love* it that all of the colors are listed on the back of the cardboard insert. So for this card, I focused on the Into the Woods Designer Series Paper pack (available in the new Holiday catalog, page 43) and ended up using all 8 colors on this card!  Amazing, right?!!  I could not help myself.
  • One of my favorite items in the Holiday catalog is that AWESOME Woodland Embossing Folder (page 39).  How many different ways can you say "gorgeous"?!!  I have seen soooo many creations and brilliant uses of this folder.  You *really* need to get one for your stash of supplies.  Just sayin'!
  • I pulled out a couple of new framelits and dies that got to meet cardstock for the first time.  The 'ticket' layers under the acorns are layered using the Tags & Labels Framelits.  There are 6 nesting framelits for the tickets and the same for the tags; and they nest nicely with each other to create a cute accent.  The scalloped edge comes from the Cutie Pie Thinlits dies.  I hated to leave the edge of the Mossy Meadow layer plain and without interest, so adding a little Early Espresso scallop was just the right touch of character.
  • The Acorns are so adorable and versatile.  I loved stamping the nut toppers in the various colors of ink, punching them out, and placing over top of the Soft Suede nut layer.  Pop them up using dimensionals and you've got "Acorny Thank You".  teehehe

DID YOU KNOW?  that Stampin' Up! offers two different types of Whisper White cardstock?  Yep!  There is our traditional 80 lb. Whisper White cardstock that is perfect for stamping and punching out images like the Acorns on the card, but, we now offer a heavier weight of Whisper White cardstock that is perfect to use for the base of your card.  It is a thick 100 lb. weight...and is absolute lovely to work with.  You really need to get a package to see for yourself.  ;)

I had lots of fun creating this Acorny Thank You...very easy to make...colorful just like an Amazing Autumn season.  Now, you will want to hop on over to Colleen's blog and check out the inspiration she has to share with everyone.  Just click on the 'Next' button and you'll be hoppin'.  If you get lost or sidetracked, just come on back and follow the list of participants shown below.  Have fun getting your fill of wonderful inspiration...don't forget to come back real soon.  :)

Stamp Out Breast Cancer with Paper Pumpkin

I literally screamed out loud when I saw this new announcement from Stampin' Up! this morning.  As a 6 year Breast Cancer SURVIVOR, this cause is very near and dear to me and my family.  While I was going through treatments, I stamped and paper crafted every day...even through the days that my stomach and body was feeling at its worst.  Stamping was my life-line...my mental therapy to keep my mind off of what I was going through.  I brought stamping projects with me to every chemo treatment...every nurse waited anxiously to see what I was preparing to make that day.  Lots of new friendships created.

If you, a family member, a friend, a friend of a friend is currently undergoing treatments, GIFT them this little treat in a Pink box.  Help them forget...for just a couple hours...the ICK they are going through to get well and back on the road to recovery.  Trust me, they will be very thankful for those peaceful hours of fun!

Please help me raise awareness for a great cause...subscribe to Paper Pumpkin.  Subscribe for Paper Pumpkin through me and I will donate $2 for every new Paper Pumpkin, as well.  I thank you SO much for your consideration!

BCRF_Demo_Header_0915To show our support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we're going PINK . . . or at least our October boxes are! And because we know our subscribers want to share the love too, we will be making a donation on their behalf to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).

Stampin' Up! will donate

  • Plus, an additional $1 for every new subscriber.

  3. Spread the word! Help us get as many new subscribers as possible. Every current subscriber adds $1 and for new subscribers it's doubled, so let's get the word out and raise as much as possible.
  4. Use the images below to spread the word via email, texts, and social media. For those who have been on the fence about Paper Pumpkin, this could be just the thing that makes you want to give it a try!

This year BCRF has invested $58.6 million in research, to support over 235 researchers at leading medical institutions across six continents, including $11.6 million to the international Evelyn H. Stampin' Ribbon of Hope with Work of Art

WorkOfArtBlush-Lori-9551

After a long week of snow, ice and below freezing weather, today's sunshine brought us some happy hours of 35 degrees.  WooHOOO!  The only good thing about the bitter cold weather is that it is much easier to stay indoors to play with my stamps, ink and paper.  Teehehehe  Today's card share is the last card from my Stamp Out Breast Cancer class.  I 'borrowed' another card layout from Selene Kempton, but this time I changed the orientation and added a couple of brush strokes and dry embossing, and VOILA!  I do have to say that this one is my all-time favorite of the bunch.

WorkOfArtBlushRibbon-Lori-9546

  • Cherry Cobbler is such a rich color by itself, and adding the crispness of Whisper White makes me think of a ballroom gown....don't know why (LOL)...simply exquisite!
  • Learning to improvise just adds to the fun of being creative. For instance, check out the Blushing Bride Ribbon of Hope....stamped with one of the Work of Art images....simple and amazing!
  • LOVE the Large Polka Dot Embossing Folder and how it adds a subtle level of dimension...all with the help of my dearest friend....the Big Shot Die-cutting Machine!
  • Another tool that is never absent from my creation station are our wonderful punches. They definitely make life a whole lot easier.  A couple of Blossom Punches make a wonderful frame for the sentiment. Stamp sets are Daydream Medallion (inked in Blushing Bride) and Something to Say (inked in Cherry Cobbler).
  • Ribbons are my favorite accessory (one might even say that I hoard my ribbons...LOL) and the 1/4" Whisper White Cotton Ribbon is YUM-MEEEEE! Just the right touch of softness to fit the tone of this card.

You know, Cancer sucks, and there are NUMEROUS types of cancer, having a variety of colors.  The most exciting part about this card is that the Ribbon of Hope ink color can be altered to recognize and support of any particular type of cancer.  If you know of someone recently diagnosed or has been fighting the battle....make them a set of Thank You cards....not only will it put a smile on the patient's face, but they will be able to send out a gesture of thanks for any and all support they have received from family and friends.  Whether it be bringing over home cooked meals, driving them to Dr. appointments, helping clean the house or mow the yard, or any other helpful deed, this card alone will surely express an overwhelming "Thank You" for all your support.

There is a list of awareness ribbons and the meaning behind the awareness ribbon depends on its color or colors. Many groups have adopted ribbons as symbols of support or awareness, and as a result, many causes often share each color. Some causes may also be represented by more than one color.  For a quick reference of the ribbon colors and their significance, click here.
