I chose two of the four patterns in the pack to work with. The 'grid' pattern is a nice neutral to tag along with the floral patterns in the rest of the designer paper patterns. I chose one of the single large flower arrangements and added colors of Mango Melody and Pear Pizzazz using Sponge Daubers. NOTE: this is called the Emboss Resist Technique because the Rose Gold foil will resist taking on the ink. The weight of the designer paper is suitable to hand cut the flowers...not too flimsy and not too thick to bother your hands if you deal with arthritis.
Before assembling the focal arrangement, I wanted to add a bit of texture with a 2nd color to help compliment the flower colors. I've revived my passion for using Embossing Paste. In particular, I added one drop of Pear Pizzazz Reinker to a small dollop (equivalent to 1/2 teaspoon) of Shimmery Embossing Paste and mixed together using a Palette Knife. The Silicone Craft Mat is a wonderful tool when you want to mix up a batch of colored embossing paste. It cleans up nicely afterwards with warm soapy water. To make my own 'decorative mask' of the Sprig, I made a template using the Sprig Punch and Whisper White Thick Cardstock. I set the handmade template in place and swiped the newly mixed paste over the template with the Palette Knife. As soon as the area is filled, lift the handmade template and let dry for about 5 minutes.
To separate the patterned paper from the rest of the white space, I added a Mango Melody scallop strip using the Stitched Be Mine dies. I didn't want the flower image sitting all by itself, so I added a Copper Foil paper layer using the Starburst Punch and a couple of Vellum accents connected to the embossing paste layer using the Sprig Punch. For added character, I tucked in some Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle before adding the Foil Flower with Stampin' Dimensionals. The "thanks" sentiment is part of the Seriously The Best stamp set that I inked with Jet Black StazOn, covered with Clear Embossing Powder and set with the Heat Tool. I chose to hand cut the sentiment and add it to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals...it added the final touch of character teamed with the focal image.
